Tony Walker did not have time for the line he waited in, but he stood in it anyway. The checkout girl (Chloe, according to her name tag) twirled her hair, looking nonchalantly for the barcode on a two liter of Sprite. Tony knew a real man would tell the bitch to do her damn job, but instead he waited silently. He had to. He was Tony Walker.
Sarah, his wife, had sent him for oranges. She was always sending Tony after something. She didn't have a job; she didn't clean; she just sat her sexy ass on the sofa waiting for Tony to get home so she could order him to do something. Today it was go get oranges. So Tony stood in line, holding oranges, waiting.
He grabbed a magazine from the beside-counter stand, and opened it. An advertisement near the center of the mag grabbed his attention. Words adorned a celephane mirror on the magazine pages, but Tony didn't see the words. He saw the reflection.
His emrald eyes had narrowed since his youth, and wrinkles were snaring them, but they still pierced. They were crystal and deep. When his wife loved him, she had said looking into his eyes scared her; it was like a reflection of her soul.
He black hair was dishevelled and receeded, but it was still black. Most of Tony's friend's heads were peppered by now if not solid salt. Tony'd face still possessed the hard stone jaw and the Kurt Douglas chin. Damn it, he was still a man. He was losing himself and he knew it.
The woman in front of Tony chit-chatted with Chloe, making the silly little girl take even longer. Tony put down the magazine and looked at the chit-chatting customer. She wore a conservative dress. It was Wednesday night; she was probably on her way home from church. She had a huge diamond on her finger. She was too old to be a trophy wife, really, only a couple years younger than Tony, maybe, but she was hot. Tony let his eyes climb her legs and ass to her tits.
Maybe it was frustration, maybe it was seeing his own reflection, maybe it was the involuntary abstinence he had experienced over the past year. Whatever it was, Tony was about to do something new. Atleas, it was new for Tony Walker.
