Brexit is in the headlines because it's a juicy story and the future of our country depends upon it, not because there's some grand conspiracy of silence on other issues.

Those articles are remarkable, the last argues against people's basic right to own property as a solution to foreign oligarchs owning empty homes in the capital. The others are equally barmy.

I don't necessarily agree with their suggestions on the housing solution, but the root of the housing problem should be big news.

I think that policies that have caused disabled people extreme poverty, hunger, homelessness and even death are absolutely key to the future of our nation, as is the fall of social mobility and the rise of in work poverty.

Cruelty to disabled people, at levels that draw international criticism, deserves far more coverage, especially when the Brexit news is mostly nothing has moved and everyone's pissed off on a loop tape.

And if the UK wasn't sending about £250 million a week to the EU then austerity could be eased. Even Theresa May's divorce bill is a massive amount that has to be met by reduced spending in the UK.

OK, we get some of that money back - but it goes on EU priorities, not UK ones.

If the Conservatives have any chance of being re-elected they have to change their stance on funding for disabilities and the elderly. Their proposal for a dementia tax at the last election pissed off many traditional Tory supporters.

Honestly, it was a mix. The huge rise in hate crimes since Brexit says that it was about both, in equal measure or even slanted towards immigration. And, when there's a housing crisis and a shortage of services, that's perfectly understandable. I think the reasons for Brexit have a class divide, and unless you query beyond your circle you'll miss it.

Or what about a high speed railway to save 30 mins of travel time at a cost of £56billion? Or what about outsourcing contracts to the likes of Carillion?

You are falling for the Myth Ogg. Austerity isn't necessary and never was. A county's economy bears little relation to a household budget. Payment to the EU amount to less than 1% of the UK's general expenditure. Taking that away would make little difference especially after the UK government takes back responsibility for things like farm subsidies.

Yes, austerity was always intended to impact the most vulnerable the hardest. The wealthy get millions in government handouts, whilst disabled people are having support stopped for not attending appointments held in buildings that, when they arrive, have no wheelchair access. True story. That actually happened.
