Oh look! Brexit!!

The left in the UK have always hated the EU as a neo-liberal corporatist organisation. It's why the likes of Tony Benn and Jeremy Corbyn were against it.

That is why Jeremy couldn't put his back behind the remain campaign during the run up to the referendum. I understand his reticence, although I personally love the freedom of movement (and the cooperation) that the EU has given us.

I liked the idea of early retirement somewhere hot, without the hastle of applying for residency, and still being able to access services should I need to.

Some say cooperation, others say coercion.

The globalists support the EU as a stepping stone to a world government, the nationalists fight it for the same reasons.

Notice I said globalists not the left, this issue cuts across party lines, there are plenty of globalists on the right, just like there are those on the left who have realised that the big-business neo libs aren't their friends.

The EU undermines national identity as a matter of course, in order to turn nations into mere regions of the EU superstate. Freedom of movement sure sounds like a good thing, it's really the removal of the right to self-determine.

Are you in favour of freedom of movement? Yes? Well then you won't mind if me and ten of my buddies sleep on your couch then. When are we leaving? We're not. But you're free to move into my cardboard box down the street.

I think it’s fair to say that very few people on the left see big-business neo libs as their friends.

Ah, you see that's why I said I liked the idea of being able to, but didn't say I support free movement. There's a difference between what's good for me and what's good for the nation.

Yeah, but try telling the remainers that they're agitating for an undemocratic, new world order global government, wage race to the bottom, slave state, ruled over by Zuckerberg 3000 and his robot chums and see how far you get.

Hm, that sounds pretty much like Tory Britain to me. :)

That sounds terrible to me, unless I get to be the despotic ruler of it all...
