This is kind of a bummer... I've had that song on CD, for years. Fairly recently, they remixed it and in my opinion, really f-ed it up. The original was much better. Now there is some extra harmonica that just sounds stupid... and this is the remixed version - which was NOT on the CD they have in the pic (I have that CD set).

I couldn't tell the difference, but I don’t have the ear like you do...

It sounds like the original single mono mix, which probably hasn't been played much since it was originally released over 50 years ago. Most of us are used to the album cut of the song, which is obviously very different. It wasn't unusual back then to have two different takes of the same song: one for the album and the other for the 45. Joy to the World by Three Dog Night is another example where the versions are different, though more subtle than here.
