Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Just had to listen to some Ronnie James Dio. Man had an incredible voice!

Rainbow - Man On The Silver Mountain

I am thinking it might be fun to have a thread to post links to old favorite songs, where musicianship was prevalent… I am thinking everything from 40’s Big Band, to 70’s “Classic Rock”… there is a ton of 80’s musicianship out there… if it sounds like a drum machine, that isn’t musicianship - that is a computer. I know there are still some amazing musicians out there, I just thought celebrating old school musicians might be cool.

Things like…
Stevie Wonder - I wish

…and..
Deodato Also Sprach Zarathustra

..and..
Leslie Gore - You Don’t Own Me

…and even “newer” stuff like…
Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl
Excellent idea!!!! I'm late finding this site but I'm so glad I did!!

She did a ton of covers (and did them better IMO) but her voice ranks in the top three female vocalists in my book. She was a hero in my wife’s Mex/American household and so she’s passed that love onto our kids. Linda is frequently heard through the Klipsch sound system. If you haven’t seen it, The Sound of My Voice tells her story.

In any language, that voice can move like no other…

She is my all-time female voice. God love her she can't sing anymore and that's a freaking crime against all of us. God bless Linda!!
