It's a great song! I've said for years that Marty Balin was an underappreciated vocalist. He had an incredible voice with a great range, but he was more often than not overshadowed by Grace Slick in Jefferson Airplane/Starship.

I remember hearing a lot of these back in the late 60s/early 70s. They're probably the forerunners to the popular mashupp songs and videos you see on Youtube today. More novelty than a song, they put in various popular hits of the day in an interview format. I always thought they were funny, but then again it doesn't take much to amuse me 😁

I remember the band but that's about the extent of it, but I can't say I recall the song though I did probably hear it at some point when it came out.

Birthday wishes to the late David Soul, born this day, August 28, 1943. Yes, better known as an actor (Starsky and Hutch is a favorite of mine), he did have one huge hit, and yeah it's kind of sappy but I like it.

Also, birthday wishes to Shania Twain, born this day, August 28, 1965. I think she's a favorite of our esteemed hostess as well. I was surprised that Shania has only released six albums in the last 30 years, almost like she's trying to beat Boston's record. She's had a lot of hits, more pop-tinged country than I usually listen to, but her songs have some really good hooks and their quite catchy like this one. The video is pretty cool, too.
