Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

A song that someone very dear to me loved even though she lived in a neighboring state.
I miss her very much  💜

Massachusetts - 1968
Song by Bee Gees

I don't think I've ever posted these guys here, and that's not right. Because they are one of the very few bands I saw live more than once and they were absolutely amazing at both shows I saw. Just phenomenal.

And... he's right.

The Power Of Love- Huey Lewis And The News

A friend just mentioned this song being from Motley Crue... which, of course they did a cover of it (and it's pretty good)... but for me, the original is still the best.

Brownsville Station - Smokin' in the Boy's Room

For some reason, I woke up this morning with this song going through my head... wonder who inspired that thought... 🤔 🤔 🤔

Exile - Kiss You All Over

For anyone who hasn't heard the earful bliss of wonderful that is Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals...

@TANSTAAFL58 might like this one too...

Ben Harper - Burn One Down
Thanks @BrendaBear

Tonight, I'd like to post "All I want for Christmas is You"

No, not that. The original song of that name, released five years before Mariah. Original artists: Vince Vance and the Valients. I was kind of impressed by Kelly Clarkson's version. She's not my cup of tea, but she absolutely NAILED it with this bluesy version.

That, to me, is the Christmas album. I realized years later after buying it on CD, I never, ever, listened to the other side of the album. 🤣🤣🤣
Yep. It's not Christmas without Elvis. But I always thought the best Elvis Christmas song was the lead track: "Santa Claus is Back in Town"

Honorable mention to versions by Brian Setzer and Kurt Russell(!)

PS., That Big Black Cadillac has to be a '57 Eldorado
