OOC From Peasant's to Kings

I'm kind of waiting for Mistress. I hope she won't be gone for too much longer... I sent her a PM in case she comes back. If it goes on for too much longer, I'll just continue with her as an NPC temporarily.

I'd like to see the Bristol/Trianna/Dolson part continue though.

I'm worried, though... it's a bit abrupt, isn't it? I mean, Bristol being the chosen one of the Talon Knights all of a sudden? I'm hoping there's more to it than that. ;)

Also, since I'm in suggestion mode (because it's fun sometimes)-- Emotionless, I would really like to see some of Dolson's past; he's a cool character. For example, we don't really know what it's like being a Half-Breed in... whatever planet this is. Did he live in the Elven Nations? Who enslaved him? Where in Gosh's name did he learn to throw daggers like that? ^_^

Of course, I'm just super into character pasts. :D I think this story is coming along great. Though like I said, my one turn-off is the abruptness of Bristol's status change. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents, y'know, since this thread is for the storyline.

Speaking of storyline, my plans are that Balron will totally take over Magincia, at least for the time being, and I have some specific plans for things he is going to drag Gunther and Iris along to do. When he visits the Citadel of Karnon, though (bum bum BUM! to face the ghosts of his past!), he'll leave Iris behind for a while, which may or may not (depending on what Mistress wants) give her a chance to escape. Tell me if anyone else had plans for Magincia or wanted Balron to do something in particular.

Well, Bristol is the chosen one, but Marse did not read all of the scroll. . . lets say he didn't want to tell Bristol the down side of being the chosen one. Also, when they find the Wizard, that will be just the first step. Bristol and his men who follow him, will undergo a transformation.

I also discussed with SecretDesires, and I think Bristol and Trianna will be going seperate ways, as far as Dolson, well he will have to make his own choice when the time comes.

Well as I have seemingly taken over the role of the Princes, until such time as someone else wants or needs to use them, I had planned for Gillian to ally with Magincia and attack Balron from both sides.

I spoke to Jacobo earlier and thought I'd post here so you all know, I plan on posting this weekend. I have a new full time job I have been working that has tired me out plus I went to the Hospital and just got home from that so I've been resting a bit. I'm sorry if I seem to have slacked in my role but I just havent had the time nor did I feel up to it. I'll think of something tomorrow, right now though I need to get back to bed.

Sorry people.

Uwahah. Okay, pardon me while I go into imagination mode. I was playing a video game and got hit with an epiphany, so please listen and give me input, guys. I just came up with all these random ideas and I want to see if anyone else likes them.

(On the side: No worries, Mistress. Just glad to have you back! :) )

So Balron (or Nammil, if you prefer) plans to drag the planet kicking and screaming back into the void from whence it came, basically. He's sick of the physical plane and decides that if he can rip away the lie that is the universe, he'll duel Gods if he has do. He knows he's walking a thin line (even with his surprisingly large power, the Gods of the world could strike him down if they pleased, but they're intrigued by him), but he won't give up because, basically, he's bitter and pissed and very, very smart.

Now I'm going to have him go off on sidequests which I don't really have to mention, and anyway this wouldn't be nearly as fun if everyone gave all their ideas away, but I had some thoughts that would affect everybody, so I thought I'd better follow up on my ideas so far and tell people what I'm thinking.

So the Pontifex is going crazy. And Balron is convinced that he's the only sane man in the world. Meanwhile, war is shaking the continent, and the Gods are looking around trying to blame someone. So who's behind it all?

To explain, I'll mention what I've PMed IDreamofBunnies and Roughneck with. Balron believes that there's something called Consciousness, which is basically where souls are drawn from, and which is the essence of all creation and decay. He believes that the world is petty, so everyone should go BACK to Consciousness. Now, he's right that there is a Consciousness, and he's right about what it does -- but what he's going to find out is that the Gods know about it too, but they just can't do anything about it. They are, basically, the Children of Consciousness, and the guardians of the world. The Gods are convinced that the physical world is a natural aftereffect of Consciousness existing, so they just live with it. Not that they mind being worshipped, though.

However! What nobody really knows is that somebody is twisting Consciousness to their advantage. Long ago, an Ancient One with the same ideas as Balron decided that the destruction of the world was necessary. However, this Ancient One knew he didn't have the power (something that Balron hasn't quite figured out yet), so he created an immaterial being, forged from all the elements of the world. This being has slept for millenia, charging up its power, until it has finally awakened, and is trying to draw everyone into oblivion, and back to consciousness.

This being is controlling Balron, and is controlling the Pontifex. In order to have a bodily vessel, this spirit wants Balron (its amazingly powerful tool) and Iris (the girl who's going to have the amazing powerful kid) to mate, thus creating a human worthy of holding the ultimate spirit. This is why Balron is so obsessed, though he doesn't know it -- because this ultimate being is working through him. And is probably doing a lot of other crap, too.

And thus, we'll have our big bad enemy guy. And a pretty rad plot to go with it.

So, uh, what do all you guys think? ^_^ It's up to you, Roughneck. And especially IDreamofBunnies, because I imagine you had some plans for the Pontifex which I don't know... so just tell me what you guys think.

Hey looks like our storylines could work together!

LuBasque has drawn conclusions similiar to Balron's plus he knows one horrible secret that Balron and everyone else does not. Savout; the patriarch/founder/god-figure of Holy Malhambria did not achieve Perfection (the state which all Malhambrians wish to reach) purely by his own works. He instead forced his way into the Consciousness, using his powerful magics to attach himself, much like a leech to it's power while remaining distinct. by doing so he has taken all the good works, all the success of people as his own. He has become a gigantic, alien beast that LuBasque is going to summon to the earth. Savout is unknowingly serving the ends of this force that has subverted the Consciousness. The Ancient intends to use Savout as a fake-out tactic. Having this monstrosity (which I imagine being similiar to "Sin" from FFX in some respects) destroying shit will draw so much attention from the globe that when they finally beat it everyone will likely forget about the child of prophecy, if they lose to Savout, even better.

LuBasque's immediate plan after summoning Savout it to "sic" him on Ocllo and Magincia, not only wiping those "imperfect heathens" from the face of the earth but he will also destroy LuRoe and LuFaux, two of the remaining nine marquis who might also oppose him. He figures he can take out the others with the Provost Mask and Staff of Karnon if he needs to.

If someone wants to play one of the other Marquis by all means go ahead, keep in mind that they all have "Lu" before their surname and all the Malhambrian states begin with "M" (Mahnse, Margaritta, Meldama, etc.)

Whoah, awesome! I'm impressed. And excited. This will be great!

Now all I'm worried about is that our combined storylines might shunt Bristol, Trianna, and Dolson off to the side. Roughneck, how will the Talon Knights figure into all this? Perhaps this knighthood, once it is resurrected, will be the ones to defeat Savout's monster form, thus giving room for the ultimate battle against the Destroyer of Worlds.

Then again, of course, what if nobody wants to destroy the Destroyer of Worlds? What if, when everyone returns to Consciousness, there is eternal peace? All becomes one in the eternal soul...

...though all the works of the world are destroyed. But isn't that inevitable anyway?

Boogie boogie boogie. Beware nihilistic philosophy.

Anyway, yeah, I'm really psyched with IDreamofBunnies' ideas, but what does everyone else think? :)

Oh I like, oh how I like where this is all going. I'm for all this, in fact I look forward to seeing what the end result will be.

Now let me add my idea to the mix. The Talon Knights were created by the Gods. Long before there was any real order or governments, the races were at war with each other. Now the Gods for the most part do not evolve themselves in such things, but when the fighting grew to a state of almost total destruction, they stepped in.

To sum up the Talon Knights, they were like your Texas Rangers in the days of the wild west. They were judge, jury, and executioner. They would resolve the differences of the races on behalf of the Gods. Example: lets say the Elf's were upset with the humans, due to some heinous act done to them. They would call upon the Talon Knights to hear their complaint. The Talon Knights would then decide upon what action to take, resolve the situation, and in theory prevent any war from taking place.

Now the Talon Knights derive their power from the Gods, but their existence was solely based on the fact people believed in them. As time passed and the races evolved, forming governments and monarchy's, the belief in the Talon Knights faded. So, as realty became legend, and legend became Myth, so did the Talon Knights. Now the Gods foresee what could possibly happen, and realize that only a myth from the past could possibly unify everyone, maybe averting the total destruction that is planed.

Now the creation of the Talon Knights is quite simple, they are reborn by the Gods. In order for them to administer justice fairly, the Gods had to recreate them, to hold any biases towards any particular race would defeat their purpose. Now when I talk about them being reborn, its not so much in a physical sense, but more of a spiritual sense. The spirit born into them would be from those that were before them, their spirit intermingles with the host.

Now I am thinking, since we have these two other parties at work, trying for the most part to destroy everything, the spirits in the Consciousness have become restless, you could say a rift has been made in the Consciousness. This is where the Talon Knights come in, those spirits don't wish for this total destruction, so they see the rebirth of the Talon Knights as a way for them to try and stop them. They hope that if the Talon Knights were to emerge, they would have a host to carry their spirit, allowing them a chance to intervene. I am also thinking that this could also cause some serious personality problems, mainly the host would begin to assume the identity of the spirit that has intermingled with him.

Im open to some ideas as to the whole Talon Knights here, so feel free to add your input, I'm sure it will only make the story better

That sounds awesome. I really like the idea. It seems like we have all meshed together into a very complex storyline. :D

Now, all we have to do is play it through and see how it all turns out... because I for one have no idea. I'm still trying to decide whether or not Balron should be able to shake off the influence of the ancient one's creation in the end... if he does he might even become a Talon Knight or something, if he doesn't then he'll be a more than worthy adversary for the Talon Knights.

Hmm, actually, what if Nammil's (as in, Balron before he became Balron) old pal Gideon (who you will learn more about as the story progresses) was the last modern Talon Knight, and never told anybody? If so, I could mention in Balron's reflections that most of the time Gideon was light-hearted, but in battle he would become strangely intense and serious (i.e. the spirit at work), and thus gain capability of his Gideon Slash Mark III, the atom-splitting sword technique.

And thus, when Gideon and Balron meet again at the Citadel of Karnon (I'm trying not to give too much away!), if Gideon forgives Balron, then Balron might take possession of that spirit as well, and thus be able to see the error of his ways as he and an actual spirit of the Consciousness argue with each other in his head. And Balron will gain the power of the Gideon Slash Mark III, bwahah.

And if he finds out he's wrong, and the clutch of the Destroyer of Worlds is shaken from him, he might even change his name back to Nammil. Gasp!

Of course, I'm still planning on having Balron try to control the Destroyer of Worlds, once It appears -- just whether or not he'll control It to destroy or to stop it, I'm not sure yet. ^_^

Oh, and just as a side note: The Destroyer of Worlds is NOT Savout's reincarnation. What I refer to as the Destroyer of Worlds is the spiritual creation of the as-of-now-nameless Ancient One. I'm not sure if Savout's reincarnation actually has a fancy name yet. ^_^ As far as we've developed so far, I believe Savout's reincarnation is the decoy the Destroyer of Worlds is using to make sure nobody really cares when Balron and Iris' kid is born, as a vessel.

And what a decoy! Sheesh!

Hey, I just came up with this, but -- what if that Ancient One was Karnon? That would tie up a few loose ends, huh? ^_^

Your creation but I imagined Karnon more of a cultist type guy in relation to your Destroyer. Sort of a Jimmy Swaggart guy, granted terrible powers to do it's bidding. A gatekeeper perhaps?

Well, currently, Karnon has nothing to do with anything. As far as anyone is concerned, Karnon was just some bad mage dude that made a badass staff and had a citadel.

But since we happen to have an empty position for an Ancient One who started all this, I just thought it would be interesting if it turned out that Karnon was the one who created the spirit with the last of his life force -- thus explaining why Balron was able to harness its power so well. After all, Balron is the tool of the Destroyer, so the Destroyer's original creator would naturally be attuned to him...

...or even better, Balron/Nammil is not in fact the child of his messed up parents, but is the clone of Karnon, preserved through time to do the bidding of the Destroyer when the time comes! Everyone loves a clone twist to the story.

It's not really necessary though. I just thought it would be neat if we could tie up some loose ends by adding Karnon to the mix even more.

was just thinking about this Ancient one thing, and something crossed my mind. Ok I dont like to steal plots from movies, but this kinda crossed my mind earlier. Now I'm not a real big Star Treck fan, but in one of their movies. . . I belive a New Frontier, they are held hostage by some crazy religious guy. I belive he has some mad Idea about God and such, well to make it short, the one who he thinks is God, was nothing more then an Alien controling things, using him.

Now heres what I am thinking, what if this Anicent one, is merly an alien using these two sides for a greater purpose, his purpose. Lets say there was a great war a few thousand years ago, kinda a World War three thing, and in short the races all came together to defeat him. Now they didn't totaly destory him but more or less sent him into a void of some sort. Now the only way for him to be released would be for that void to be destroyed, and that could only happen by the events you two have mentioned. Just something to play with, and its just a rough idea and would need some work, but might help fill in the blanks.

I'm not sure if that would work...

The Ancient One, himself, is not supposed to be the main important villain. Rather, once he sets into motion the birth of the Destroyer of Worlds, he fades into the background (and presumably dies of old age, or if he is Karnon, someone probably comes around and kills him and his staff is lost with his citadel).

I'm not QUITE sure what you mean, but as far as things are set up, the Destroyer of Worlds is far too powerful to be controlled. Balron might try to control it without realizing he is actually its tool (if he says a badguy), but it won't work. The Destroyer of Worlds is so powerful that it is able to use the now-monstrous Savout, the god-king of the Malhambrians, as a decoy. I mean, this Destroyer of Worlds is one bad-ass dude.

So I'm not so sure about anyone being stronger than or controlling the Destroyer of Worlds. Even if we decide that the Ancient One didn't die, the Destroyer of Worlds will have slept and absorbed enough aura and elemental energy to become WAY more powerful than its creator.

I'm afraid I'm waiting for Mistress to act out her "dream". Then I'll post with Balron noticing the death of LuQua and the usage of the Staff of Karnon (since he probably qualifies as a "great Magi").

I dunno where Roughneck is, though. ;)

I'm sorry I'll try to come up with something tomorrow as said before I'm working full time so when I get home I usually crawl into bed then I'm up a hour to eat and take my meds from the hospital then I head back to bed.

Mistress, I'm sorry -- I don't mean to pressure you. I just like this story, that's all... if you're worried that you're letting anyone down, don't be (just in case you are worried). :)

If no one objects, then, I would like for Balron to discover later on that Karnon was the Ancient One that created the Destroyer of Worlds -- and that Balron is actually a clone of Karnon who was switched with the real Nammil at birth, and thus Balron has these ideas to send the world back to Consciousness. The clone plot is a little cliche, but the philosophical implications of Balron (who thinks that he's the smartest, most undeluded guy on the planet) finding out he's actually being controlled and that his thoughts aren't real would probably break him completely. It would probably be the only thing, even if he does gain the spirit of the Talon Knight, that would really turn him from Destruction.

So, I'll post Balron noticing LuQua's death and say Iris is just in her trance trying to see if she can gain magic power -- and along with it, I'll explain a bit more about how his magic testing ritual works.

So let's review what we have so far, to see if anyone missed anything which they'd like to object to:

<<--->>

Long ago, during the period of the Ancients, the powers of thaumaturgy, theurgy, and all the elemental forces of Magic were just being discovered. Probably lots of stuff happened that we haven't made up with, but hey, we can make up mythology on the fly. One of the famous Ancient Ones, however, was Karnon, the supposed founder of Necromancy. More than any being, he knew the difference between life and death, and understood the Consciousness -- as the whole of his magic was stealing souls away from returning there. Disgusted with life, he decided that the only way to save all souls would be to destroy the physical world.

However, Karnon knew that the time of the Ancients was coming. So many strong magic-users existed that the Consciousness was becoming unbalanced by the power drawn away, and to fill that void, the Gods were born from the Consciousness, superhuman beings who began to keep the power of magic in check, and to give the far weaker magicless aid through the power of priests. Thus, Karnon decided that he had no time to spend centuries training and learning new powers -- so he spent the remainder of his life keying his magic to the ley lines around the continent. It is rumored he even left the continent to find nexuses around the world, and even traveled through Consciousness.

After keying the focal points of the ley lines, he connected them all to his citadel, and deep with the earth, surrounded by molten rock, a primal stream, and an empty crevice of air, he stored his ultimate creation. Sacrificing his own soul (and denying Consciousness once more), he fed that and all the many souls he had collected into one force, one being...

...the Destroyer of Worlds.

The most omnipotent being in existence. More powerful than the Gods. It knew EVERYTHING. And had one goal.

Meanwhile, another great magician by the name of Savout led the Malhambrian empire. The Malhambrians were disgusted and frightened by the lack of perfection in human society -- but rather than Savout deciding to destroy the world for that reason (as Karnon had decided), Savout decided to set an example to the world by attaining perfection and the power of the Gods. However, in order to do so, he funneled the power of Consciousness straight into his body, and thus ascended to Heaven... in a way. Rather than becoming a God, however (as all Malhambrians thought when they saw him ascend), he continued to milk the Consciousness, growing and growing with the power of pure, unfettered Creation...

...and the Destroyer of Worlds knew, and it thought, and it waited.

Finally, the time is ripe for the Destroyer of Worlds to be unleashed. Using astral strength, the Destroyer of Worlds unlocked the soul of Karnon it had devoured and stole the body of a young child, predicting that the family he had been born into would be terrible. The Destroyer devoured the baby's soul and replaced it with the intensely powerful and mystical soul of Karnon.

That child was named Nammil.

Now, Nammil and Karnon have combined to create a man that calls himself Balron after the old King's brother, and rules the land of Occlo. Soon he will trigger the link to unleash Savout by accident, and along the way, the complete unleashing of the Destroyer of Worlds will go unnoticed -- when Iris bears Balron's child...

<<--->>

So we might want to find out what Bristol's childhood was like and if he has some sort of special heritage (related to Gideon, Bristol's uncle perhaps? that would be VERY interesting). And more about Trianna's wannabe boyfriend and her dad.

Gideon will be talked more about along the way... so we can add to that as we go along. I just wanted to make sure everyone got where this story was going according to what we have so far. :)

Anyway, I'll post soon.

I had sent you that last PM before I read your post above so just ignore that one, I really like your ideas JC. Sounds good to me, when I have some time I might post some of my own ideas.

Another bit of Malhambrian history; Malhambria was an Empire prior to Savout's rise to power. He overthrew the corrupt SinJengan dynasty and formed a sort of theocratic-monarch republic thing where each of the ten states had a representative who could vote on matters spanning the entire empire. Savout was responsible for changing the surname handles from Sin to Lu (LuRoe's family was once SinRoe and so on).

Dang, Bunnies, you kicked the plot up a notch. ;)

I guess I'd better get my subquest over with and have Balron receive the Talon Knight spirit so I can have Balron talk to the Gods, and figure out what's going on.

I imagine the Gods are just as confused about Savout as everyone else, but they probably believe it is the work of an extremely powerful entity.

I don't actually plan for Balron to learn much from the Gods, major storyline wise, just for him to learn that the Gods know what he knows but can't do anything about it -- but the fact that the Gods don't blow him up should be a good confidence booster.

The Gods don't know about the Destroyer of Worlds or what Karnon did, though. The Gods weren't around when the Ancient Ones were peaking.

----
EDIT: Couple Extra Notes...

Roughneck, don't forget to delete all those extra posts Bunnies made by accident.

And guys, let's make sure we slow down a little. We're going to end this whole friggin game by post 250 if we don't slow down a little. I have to admit, Bunnies, you took me by total surprise... I thought it was going to be a while longer before the Pontifex attacked.

Well, I suppose we can have some lengthy army battles. Let's just remember we aren't in any rush to reveal the plot. And there's still lots of room for filler.

Let's leave a little while before Savout lands, anyway.

Ok, I will slow up a bit with the story. I figure the meeting of the Wizard will take up some time, I might mention some new Char.'s will be introduced. From there, I think two paths will be made, one for bristol and one for Trianna. Now which path Dolson and LuRoe take is up in the air.

Ok, now how do i delete the posts, don't see a function that allows me to do it.

One more thing, I was just wondering, seeing how we have Elfs, and we have even mentioned Orcs. . . will there be Dwarfs?
