OOC: Matrix thread

Cool. I'll post getting to the hotel tomorrow. I just hope the Agents will be waiting, lol.

Connovor, I was thinking...you could have another ship bringing you to our ship instead of just sitting there waiting?

Gonna PM some of our Agents to make sure there still in this before I post again.

Might be an idea. Good one actually, I'll see if I can work something out...

I'm going to watch Matrix one tomorrow, because I think I've never seen an Operator call except on a hard line, altho they can't be called TO from a cell phone or a hard line.

This will limit my ablity to warn folks it it only works one way.

*sractches head, trying to remember*

PoliteSuccubus:
If you play "Enter The Matrix," you will see Sparks(the operator of the Logos, Niobe's ship) call the other two crew members several times on their cell phones. For example, in the post office, as you take that elevator ride upstairs, Sparks calls you to warn you that the second floor is swarming with cops. It seems that the cell phone not only provides a direct link to the operator, but also to other teammates, as Ghost and Niobe have a few conversations of their own.
You also see the guardian of The Oracle (I can't remember his name at the moment) call Sparks from a payphone and demand that the crew visit him immediately.
So, to solve this, it appears as communications, as long as they use a phone, have no limitations. Exits could be different, but I'll leave that up to you.

PS is it too late for me to join this?

Thank you!

I haven't see that yet.

Actually, we are kinda stalled because some players skipped on us, so it would be great if you would join us, I think!

Write up a PC and then get the OK from the GM ASAP!

;)

character... let's see...

Name: Blaze
Sex: Male
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Blue
Age: 23
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 120

While still plugged in, he was one of the top recording artists in the rap industry. But that was all a lie...he faked his death for a greater cause.

He is now the first mate of the Ragnarok, one of the fastest ships in the fleet. It has a good sized crew, but most, like Blaze himself, specialize in solo missions. His skills in fisticuffs still need improving, and he finds himself better suited with two pistols and a couple magazines than with punches and kicks. Although he is known for flying solo, he will not refuse help, and looks at others' support as a good thing.

ERm...

If you read the actual game thread you'll see that going solo hasn't worked out much for the couple who tried it.

And all our agents seem to have gone awol.

k fuck going solo then I'll edit it...

tell you what, my mission is to link up with the crew of the Freedom and give them whatever kind of assistance they need.

I aint mad, I'm just a profane kinda guy. I'm sorry if I came off like I was angry with you, I think teamwork would be good. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Good post, but it's almost midnight here and I just got rid of some guests so I'll respond tomorrow.

Welcome to the thread Conan.

There has been no reply from AshyAir or Angelus, yet. So, I guess I'll do double duty as an Agent, for now.

Name: Agent Barnes
Height: Average
Weight: Average
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown

Barnes is one of the most non-intimidating men you'll ever meet. In fact, he's so average in appearance, that you might not even notice him in a crowd.

But he's still an Agent, and as such, is a bad-ass.

I would definitly like to join this thread, My character "Gerath Bryne" I guess would be on the agents side. They got to me before any of the ships could sense my abilities and partial "Awakening". I will make a whole background etc on the accual rpg thread. Basically I have been awaken to the Matrix withought being unplugged. They use me to spy, Train me to upgrade my abilities to almost "agent abilities" and use me to play with the heads, and emotions of those trying to free themselves. I will make a ton more background as soon as someone gives me the ok to join the thread.

I'm not sure any human's can get their abilities to "near Agent" levels, even with training from the Agents. According to the mythology, only "The One" could surpass the limits that humans were stuck with. And since there won't be a "One" character in this thread...

Still, your abilities could be just as formidable as the rebels, or if that's not enough, you could be an Agent.

Anyone elses thoughts?

Being unplugged, but still inside the system? Oh, that is an interesting concept. I thought of it myself, but never put it into a situation like this. I say bravo for originality points.
I would think that everything in the Matrix is part of a code, and such, the Agents are allowed to bend and twist that code accordingly. It would only follow suit that someone they unplug purposely would do the same. I don't think up to the level of "Agent" per say, but definitely stronger (faster, more agile) than an unjacked human. If he's a bad guy, why not give him more strength? It forces us to beat him with our minds, not our fists.
Just my opinion though. I understand about giving someone too much power. It has been corrupted before, and that's a lot considering this thread just started not too long ago.

Well, Angelus, a good run, but I don't seem to see you anywhere around. If you come back, please PM me or something. We can work out a way to get you into the story, or you can move on from this spot.
For now, I'll just say that Angelus' character and my own got to the hotel, and before anything else Alloc just ran into the hotel. Unless someone else has a better idea?

requesting permission to join....

Name: cedric

age: 28
gender: male
description: 5'6", 130 lbs., closely sahved head, olive/brown skin, could be mistaken for an arab.

still plugged in (I winced when i saw someone beat me to that one) but has had one brief contact with unplugged rebels before they were killed by an agent.

he is a genuine healer, has a good sixth sense about things and people and is an expert in an obscure martial art.

he does, however, not like to be swept into and away by 'the causes of others', especially fanatics.

he might be just a little bit bored, though.

Sorry guys, I was off line for a while, I'm reading today and will post tomorrow.

Promise *crosses heart*

Welcome back, Polite Succubus.

And go ahead and post Dantian. Welcome to the thread.

Actually, I was thinking about that the other day and I bet there are a lot of rebel type people who are still jacked in, but simply to old to be unjacked. If you remember, they told Neo at 23ish that they didn't do people as old as him..........

I think it gives great incite to what they really look for when they unplug people, regularly, as opposed to special ones. It means that they look for young people who didn't accept the programming as easily as the others.
So, I bet since there are only so many rebels, and all of this other shit running around from time to time, many "rebels" slipped through the cracks of the time limit.

It's like in Star Wars, I have a friend who's a big fan, and he told me about a latest book which goes in the great detail of how the old Jedi Council used to recruit young padawans.
They only accepted babies who were within a year old, and only those who passed a simple test (similar to Anakin's in Episode one, but much simpler cause he's a baby) Like Yoda would hold a rattle just out of reach, and the toddler would have to use the force to bring it closer.
Within a year of birth. So, if no one was near a child with the force powers, who grew up, he would never be trained. There could be dozens of people able to weild the force, but not taught by anyone how to harness the power.
Something to think about, I suppose.

Sorry about the lack of posting. My SO had to take the Bar exam for two states over the last four days, and I was lending my support. Back now, though!
