Zoe Maxwell

5' 4"
98 lbs.
18 years of age

Zoe is abnormally thin, almost to the point of being atrophied, and she's very near to being albino -very, very pale skin and stark white hair. Her eyes are a bright, solid, unnatural shade of blue.

Her frail form has no orifices, and seemingly no internal organs; her mutation has made her into an almost purely psionic being. She survives through osmosis, absorbing nutrients and water from the air around her. She has pathetic physical strength and no combat ability, and tends to shy away from violence -and other people.


Abilities: Psionics

Zoe must communicate through weak Telepathy, and can erect mental shielding to prevent others from scrying. However, this only appears to be a side effect of her form; her real strength lies in her underdeveloped psionic powers. In truth, Zoe's sheer destructive potential is frightening.

Pyrokinesis: The manipulation of matter in order to induce combustion, and the subsequent control of combusted material. At its extreme, a master Pyrokinetic can induce direct matter-to-plasma conversion.

Psychometabolism: Manipulation of the basic, intertwining energies of life. Through this power, Zoe becomes a living anodyne. This skill fits her gentile nature quite well, allowing her to heal, cure, and enhance the natural physical properties of others. However, the deeper one delves in this power, the darker it becomes, until necromantic effects are attained.

Psychokinetics: Often confused with Neurokinetics. However, PK is much, MUCH more dificult to use effectively, or at all. Generally rage- or fear- induced, it is a manipulation of energy and matter that seems to bunch numerous other Psionic abilities in with it for devastating effect. PK talents generally range from simple EMP effects to massive detonations of Biostatic and Biokinetic energy... and it keeps scaling up from there. Use of PK tends to have a detrimental effect on the mind of the Psionic casting it, leading eventually to insanity or even death.

Is there still room for another character?

I started developing this character in another thread but am intrigued by the possibility of his interaction with other mutants, and building a history for him. This story line, from what I have been reading sounds like a place he might be able to contribute at the same time. Also, after reading over the character list, I think Lucas might be an interesting balance at Xavier's school to Walker at the Mass Academy.

CHARACTER: Lucas, age 18. Race, Native American. 5', 11", 165 lbs. Yellow eyes. Long, dark hair streaked with shades of brown and white. His body is also covered with a short, soft fur of similar color, a bit thicker along the spine from the nape of his neck downwards. His features are strongly reminiscent of a wolf, including pointed ears, long tongue, and sharp teeth. His hands and feet are fully functional but do not quite look human. His fingernails and toenails are retractable against the tips of fingers and toes, able to extend into half inch sharply pointed and slightly curved talons. His singing voice is very good and he has a strong affinity for music. His mutation is that of strength, speed, endurance and incredible regenerative capabilities as well as highly developed senses of hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch, an affinity for hunting and tracking.

Xavier is interested in his mutation as it seems part of a strand that includes Sabretooth, Wolverine and a few others. These possess similarities in mutation re: strength, regenerative factor, enhanced physical senses, etc. Yet at the same time each has unique strengths/features and personality traits related to the particular predator for which each has affinity. There is speculation that this group of mutants may represent an evolutionary strand that is at the beginnings of developing into its own sub species of humanity as opposed to many other mutants whose powers and mutations are more spontaneous and unique.

Lucas is dealing with a number of conflicts. Unlike many other mutants, his powers did not manifest at puberty, but rather have been a part of him as he grew up due to them being linked to his physical being. Born on a reservation, tribal elders and family decided early on it would be best for them and him if Lucas were isolated, as there seemed to be some unhealthy interest in him when he was born on the part of the government. His grandparents, following tribal tradition, took on the task of raising him in the Old Ways.
His education, then, has been spotty, though other members of the tribe have helped out from time to time in trying to provide him some knowledge of how to function within both the tribal and mainstream socieites.

Unfortunately, his grandparents were betrayed by someone, possibly Lucas’s mother who never revealed who Lucas’ father might have been, but got involved in drugs and the depression that is a tragic part of her generation of Native Americans. A covert operation by a “black hole” organization led to the deaths of his grandparents and several other tribal members trying to protect him in a sort of Pine Ridge conflict with these forces. Lucas himself fought there, but obeying, though reluctantly, his grandfather’s wishes as he was brought up to do, he fled.

He deals with this and a great inner conflict of longing for companionship, a tribe or pack, and wariness of others unlike himself. Though capable of great patience, he also deals with a lot of guilt and rage that makes him at times appear very moody. He also knows an intense restlessness that sends him at times running, running, just running. Ravens, the birds, tend to hang around him quite a bit (bit of wolf lore here), and he is quite comfortable with their company, though sometimes he becomes a bit annoyed with their teasing.

He has travelled a long way to reach Xavier’s school, advised to do so by a mysterious shaman who appeared to him during two years of wandering and hiding which turned into a sort of vision quest. Lucas does not know for certain who this figure is or was, if real or no more than vision, possibly planted in his mind by Xavier himself, but he would show up at the school alone and on foot, a fugitive from federal forces, wondering why he is even there.

diffusing the situation in the mall

*G* Hey, I was reading the thread and came up with an idea for diffusing the situation in the mall that would incorporate many of the different mutant powers and be non-violent.

Lucas would coordinate the efforts.

We would go down to the fountain and pretend that what we are doing is a promotional sketch for a play of a fantasy genre: "Sally Beyond the Woods" (or other title, plot explanation provided would be that it is a modern young woman who finds herself lost in a forest and encounters fariytale/mythical creatures.)

(This would give us an opportunity to convince the humans that Wei (BadForm) really isn't nude, just a really good makeup and costume job as a water sprite. Rachel (Serah)would be said to be the main character, Sally and might be able to get the idea to play along as we go.)

Those mutants with illusionary powers (if we have any who can do this while conscious, Vivid would your character Martin be able to do this if he concentrated or maybe we could have Tara put him to sleep to create the illusions? or whomever?) would provide a sort of scene around the fountain that we would all claim was holograph projection.

Gaea Zoe could be a big help here, especially with her telekinetic powers

Angelius if you would be agreeable, could go into your character's mutant mode and roam about a bit, improvising.

Tripping Billy if Fallout could go into even partial mode, could introduce him as a giant or some such

Inkubus, would you be willing to go ahead and have Vincent play the guitar, something neo classical or celtic? Would also have you monitor to be sure none of the rest of us got out of hand with our powers.

Ask For More, if James could provide some low key fireworks, if we can coordinate with him, that might give Rache the opportunity to slip away with Wei

mfucker still not sure what Angel's powers are, perhaps she could suggest a way to help?

sojournerwolf aka Lucas would not actually use his mutant powers so much, but sort of be the M.C., spinning a whole line of bullshit about the play, the acting company, etc. all absolute fabrication off the top of his head.

Neale and Isolde could come in however you would want to, or hang back and observe to get some ideas of the powers of their students and their personalities, and maybe have a laugh or two.

anyone I've left out my apologies if I have, let me know and we can probably put our heads together and figure out a way to work you into it, too.

Please let me know what you think of this idea here...might be worth some laughs and again, would be a way to use the characters mutant powers without violence...thanks

Wolf as always you have fun Ideas. If the group is willing I'll be along for the ride. I had a slightly less friendly idea, which involved someone calling in a squad or a couple sentinels and us having to blast our way out. thus using our powers and getting to demonstrate without turning on each other. we could get mixed up in the fray and end up at alternate schools or some of us could *gasp* get captured.

Either way you all are a blast to rp with and Ill be monitoring for the outcome. Wolf as always if you throw a hook Ill grab on.
