OOC: New Schools for New Mutants!

Hmmmm... ok, I don't want to squash anyone's aims - and it is a GREAT idea, SojournerWolf; however, I should point out a couple of things about the personality involved here. Wei-fong is an emotional, NOT intelligent person. She is not all that likely to understand what is going on, so may end up watching to see when the play begins (not understanding she is it). Also, she loves water (which she has now), and is very much a hedonist. Would she leave? She senses no danger - the people around her enjoy the show as soon as she feels any fear from them, as she can exude emotions onto others (as she has done in her fountain thing)....

So, I like your ideas, and it may well work for Cai/Ee-Wei/Ahn-Dao, but I'm not sure Wei-fong would see anything other than people using powers and offering a play which would make her more likely to stay. Go with it if you want, but be prepared for her acting like a relatively low-intelligence hedonist.

the mall scenario continued

*G* Actually, watching Wei play, I had kind of gotten the impression of what you wrote, though your detail on it makes it all the better.

Yes, I know Wei would probably have to be "helped" into leaving before things get out of hand with the humans. And it adds a great complication to the idea. But her fellow mutants would also know that there is no way, no how they can force Wei to leave, but rather will have to provide her with some sort of motivation that would appeal to her playfulness and sheer joie de vivre. In fact, that may be what not only complicates things, but helps us pull it off.

Yet, I don't want to interfere with any plans you have for this. Wei is your character and how you want to play the scene out is up to you. This was just an idea I came up with that I thought might be an interesting way to pull the mutants from both schools together. I'm not married to the idea by any means.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I am completely open to the idea - just wanted to explain why she might not 'get it' or be easy to convince. Wei is quite happy to head of to the most enjoyment at a moment's notice, and will follow a crowd if it so pleases her. In other words, in contrast to some of my characters (Monique in Hawkes thread, Fu from Changeling Chan's etc), she's not a super-dominant person.

^_^ I could go either way, but I lean more toward the "non-violent" route. It could be a good test for Zoe; trying to be helpful without tearing something apart.

Just let me know what I need to do.

To smack or not to smack

I agree non violent is the harder and more inteligent route. But, my char is anything but subtle or low key. And I feel like Wei (bad form) is egging me on toward a fun if extremly unsubtle scene. Im having a blast either way. Im just sorry that RL leaves me so little time for threads. just try to bear with me and I'll catch up to whatever everyone is cool with.

Hi Gang!

Hey, everyone....I am back..again....I am at Imoen's now and looking to move here. Sorry to be so lax but it was spur of the moment that I left a very bad situation at home.

As for the idea...it has merit...go for it, in fact I am just about to post as Ms Frost and I will give it my blessings at that time in a post.

Neale and I will sit back for a few until we are needed and, actually, the idea that you have will blend in with what we have planned after the shopping trip. *winks*

So, Play On!-

scenario at the mall

Thank you all who have responded so far to the idea. I just need to hear back from a few more of us and will go ahead and outline plan and get it kicked off as soon as possible

I guess I would have to say I'm down with the non-violent approach. If things became "not fun" Wei-fong would split, leaving Fu, a raging being of fire if an angry situation, Ee-Wei, an heavy woman with earth powers if a scary situation, or Ahn-Dao, the being of air if a confusing situation. Hardly any of which anyone has seen before - ergo, could add to the whole confusing episode.

As to 'egging [Rache] on', that's accurate even if not how Wei-Fong would see it. She LOVES attention, and figures everyone else does too - so she'd be surprised to learn Rache (or anyone) didn't actually enjoy being oggled.

I'm baaaack!

I've reviewed the ideas, talked with Isolde, and am all for it. Good going, peoples! :)

I have just two things to say to you, Neale... Welcome and Back

Good to see you - hope the beach was fun.

the mall

Hi!

so far we've got the characters of Vincent, Martin, Zoe, James Tao and Lucas putting together a plan to try and ease the situation at the mall while Wei and Rachel are down at the fountain and Frost and Xavier await the results. If it is okay with everybody, I would like to give the others a chance to chime in, if they want to participate.

What do you all think would be a good time frame for this? I thought we might wait and see who posts again today, and maybe go into the plan and action tomorrow (Tuesday), but that's flexible. Please let me know.

I'm still in, just really hard to keep up with the creativity of you guys.....try to catch up these few days....:)

Hi, licci & mfucker

Good to see you both back! Gonna go ahead and weave you both in, but first, mfucker...do you want to give us some idea of Angel's powers or is your character wanting to keep those to herself for now? Can work it either way...just let me know. I'm going to start building on Licci's post and once you let me know how your character wants to play it, we'll go from there.

Thanks

my character is not supposed to know what exactly her powers are....but she does have an inkling of it.....it's going to be something along the lines of telepathy/psychic....but it's too common a theme....i was thinking more like developing as we went along....

about angel's powers in the new schools thread

*G* I like that. Not being sure what her powers are, Angel is going to be a great character to be interacting with, watching how she changes and grows.

For the present scenario, if you want to be involved and/or Angel feels up to it, Lucas will ask her to help out in non-powers ways. And if Angel sees a problem somewhere and wants to try and head it off, if that idea appeals to you, jump on in.

I really like writing with you, you've got a way of creating edgy characters through thought/dialouge/action that is really wonderful to read.

Who's affected?

OK, this is probably a dumb question, but who's being affected by the powers? The humans are getting fuzzy and seeing the imagery of dreams (I presume therefore they're actually falling asleep). Is the same happening to Rache and Wei-Fong or are we still awake and not seeng it?

who can see it

As I understand it, the humans are in a sort of waking dream.

Martin took Tara's creation (the shared dream) and put it into reality. The food court is sprouting foliage and fantastical animals roam the halls.

Wei and Rache

Good question, not at all a dumb one. I originally posted this about the same time Vivid posted the idea that sounds like we all would be seeing the vision. Personally, I like Vivid's idea better but here is what I posted
I think part of it needs to be your call. Depends upon how sensitive Wei and Rachel are to this sort of telepathy. What we "young heroes" *L* are doing as a group is trying to calm the humans down so it is mostly focused on them. Wei and Rachel are "our" people, part of the mutants, so we wouldn't be using our powers against them directly. We don't want to hurt either of them, but to try and extricate them from a situation that looked like it was going to get out of hand.

Waiting to hear back if that was what Vivid meant (i.e. we can all see the vision); we'll adjust from there if everyone is in agreement.
the rest of my message was:

One part of the plan on Lucas' part, is to try and get Wei out of the mall altogether and over into a pond near the parking lot where Xavier's van and possibly Frost's vehicle is parked. With fewer people there, Lucas is going to hope that Wei may realize she's not being threatened and may be able to talk with us or with the teachers and possibly change back into a form that would attract less attention.

Or, I'm open to other ideas. Whatcha think?

(P.S. I am starting to put together a new thread that can be viewed at OOC: Raven of the City. If you want to take a look at it, I am looking for some vivid even outre characters. I enjoy writing with you, and was really sorry that in that Pro-Amatuer thread the author didn't pick up on the possibilities for Sable. If you are interested in this new thread, you are certainly welcome to join. http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=608223#newpost

Thanks!

invitation to check out a new thread

I have really been enjoying writing with all of you. I am about to start a new thread, Raven of the City information for which can be seen at OOC: Raven of the City thread. Sort of a noir/eerie story line. If interested, you are welcome to come up with characters and post them there. I look forward to continuing writing with all of you here. Neale and Isolde, you are invited too and just want to say, this Schools for New Mutants thread is really great!

Question to Vivid

Did I understand correctly that Martin and Tara in tandem are powerful enough so that even those of us not actually in that sleepy mode can see what's going on to? If so, I think it's a great idea and would like to run with that rather than what I posted prior to this.

Please let me know...damn, this is getting more fun by the minute.

haha....thanx for the compliment....but Angel will stay wherever she is till i have time to catch up on the thread....RL stuff.....:(

One of Martin's abilities is to make dreams appear in the waking world. It's horrible when nightmares are involved.

Sorry for any confusion.

about Martin's powers

Thanks for clearing it up. I'vegone back and edited some of my previous posts to reflect that. I think it's a great idea, having them appear in the waking world rather than just in the minds of sleepers.

Confusion "rains"

and I have not an umbrella. *G* At the mall, I thought Chan, James, Tara, and Lucas were all outside at the moment? I may have misread a post somewhere, esp. Vivid's.

Could you let me know where your characters are, in or out of mall, so I can be sure mine isn't doing something really weird...or at least weirder than normal? *L*

Thanks!
