Something I Don't Do In Public

Ok, maybe this isn't the place for this, and if it isn't, well, then my apologies.

What is going on with this?? I've reviewed the whole "Raven" thread a couple of times, and it appears that 2 of the major characters have simply walked off. Are they coming back? And, if not, (as it would appear to me) how do we proceed without them? It seems ridiculous to me to keep waiting over a week and a half for some one to post to the thread if we can keep this thing moving without them. Maybe try to recruit some new folks to take on interesting characters?

Clarrissa has signed on with a truly interesting character, yet has no one to intereact with her. It also seems that most of us are waiting for Raven, and the character that Raven is interacting with has long ago taken a hike. So what direction do we go in now? Or do we let the subplots allow this thread to fade into obscurity?

This story has a lot of good potential, and I would hate to see it vanish. But right now we only have a string of quickly thought out subplots trying to keep this afloat - and none of the subplots are even remotely related to each other. We all might as well be off doing our own threads separately.

I'm open to ideas. I'm not open to waiting around for characters to show up who have not put in an appearance on the SRP for well over a week, and don't appear to want to anytime soon. If the idea is to wait on them, then I need to know so I can write my character out. If we move forward and try to make this an interesting thread, then let's kick some ideas around and see what works.

Sojourner, I know that when you put this together you did so with a great deal of thought. And it really is a good idea. But I think there comes a time when you need to write off people who no longer have an interest in continuing. If I'm out of line on this, or if there is nformation that you are aware of that I'm not, then just tell me to keep my mouth shut.

Otherwise, I'm open to discussion.

No, I'm talking about characters that are specifically dealing with Sojourner who are in pivotal roles and who have decided not to return here. (or seemingly so)

Chele...I agree with you on your point. The disappearance of writers who say they want to dedicate themselves to threads and then skip out is probably the main reason I took a short break. It is frustrating when you put a lot of effort into writing something that means a lot to you and then have writers drop out at crucial points!

Also, I cannot imagine ANYONE leaving SW high and dry in the middle of his action! In my opinion SW is one of the greatest writers I have ever read! ALL of my favorite writers are participating in this thread and that is why I joined! It is also why I did not abandon this thread when I took my short break!

I hope that SW writes around the characters who have abandoned him and move on with the story! This main plot is just TOO good to let go! And it is painfully obvious that SW has put a lot of thought into this storyline!

I totally agree. For example, my char. Faith has been in Licking Lizard because I haven't been able to find anything to do with her. After that whole incidence with Vince, I waited for him to post and I was just like...forget it, and I took the whole interaction into my own hands (hope that's okay, Aristo!). But, I'll be gone for at least two weeks starting Monday since I'm moving...I haven't posted that yet, and I wasn't going to until Sunday, but Faith isn't doing anything...I think maybe we should discuss at least some type of direction that this is going to...Other than this, it's an awesome thread, with awesome writers.

Did it ever occur to you to ASK before publically spouting off? In actuality, there have been some things going on and I HAVE been in touch with SW concerning them. He doesn't have a problem, why do you?

First of all, I apologize for insulting you, Kitten Eyes...it was not my intention! A small note in the OOC, as others did when away, may be appreciated! I was trying to pay SW a compliment! And I was NOT directing my comments to you personally! If you took it that way I am sorry! If you read the thread you will see that you were not the only person who stayed away for an unspecified amount of time! Also, thank you for picking on my post in particular! And, thank you for the profanity! It just made me realize why I left this site for a small break!

Sorry if I upset the thread and I will most graciously bow out! I will wrap up my storyline very quickly so the rest of you can write without me.

It is an injustice to assume a pivotal role in a thread and then disappear without notice.
I have two characters each involved in peripheral subplots that could themselves make an interesting play. But where is the center?
Sojourner this is a big complex thread with lots of excellant players. You have real talent pool right here. I know you are pressed as we all are for time, but it could be that Raven is due for a restructuring and clarification.

I wanted to reveal this personality much later in the thread but I am forced to resign from the thread!

yes, I am MtnAngelWV and also New4U New4Me! Priscilla is the main person who has Pamela and Pete as her alter egos! Priscilla was sexually abused by her stepfather and turned into these personalities as a defense mechanism!

I had hoped to play this one out to the end. But I have offended a writer and I feel VERY bad for that! So, maybe I need more time away from here!

By the way, I never intended Pete to be the murderer. I just used the inference so that "he" would be discovered as being Priscilla when he was questioned for the murders!

I will post one more time as Priscilla and Pamela to close my storyline! Even though it didn't seem that my subplot concurred with the main plot it did sort of! (because of Pete being accused of the murders!)

Kitten Eyes I'm sure you were justified in not posting and although Raven may have known why, to the rest of us it appeared that the center of the plot had suddenly gone into stasis. The use of profanity adds nothing to your case.

This is a good collection of responsible writers that Sojourn has brought together. For the sake of the thread and the efforts we've all put into it lets please continue with a clean slate.

Well, now you all know why I don't like to do this sort of thing publically.

Kitten Eyes, if you want to tell some one to "fuck off", well I'm your girl - NOT MtnAngel. I was the one who started the idea and the concept of having people use profanity at me only bounces off my back for the worthless words they are.

If SW knew that there were issues as to why you couldn't post, then that is great. But there are a whole pool of writers here who, though delved into their own "mini" plots were keeping an eye on the major plot to move their characters. A simple post to the OOC stating that you needed to be gone for a while is considered a simple act of consideration. (And one you don't have to go into detail about, either)

But, it isn't just you, there is another character who has also disappeared who was playing a major role who has vanished. And not the first time from a thread I've been participating in, either.

If I've upset people by stating my mind, well, frankly? Don't expect an apology. I speak my mind as I see it, thinking it out before hand. A lot of us put a lot of time and effort into developing characters and plots on this board - MtnAngel is an excellent example of this, playing 3 roles - and to leave, even for a while, without at least letting your fellow players know you will be gone is considered bad manners here. I do not apologize for bringing that up. It's just the way I am.

If any one else takes exception to what I originally wrote, please comment to me. MtnAngel was only responding to something I had originally written. Please, don't blame her or flame her.

Sorry to hear you've been having RL troubles, it seems we all have been affected by them lately....

Unfortunately.....The only one who was aware of yours, beside yourself, was SW.....No fault to SW, but when the subject of missing writers was brought up, it was on a concerned level...not an insult level....

AND EVERYONE.......

How about a little forgive and forget? Everyone???? We all came here for the same reasons...not? To express ourselves, and write where we like to write....with our "family"...correct?

I have been rightfully accused of having borish manners, and have been forgiven.....How about a little from everyone to each other.....Before we lose any more people, and our respect for ourselves and each other...PLEASE?????
