OOC: Return to Syn City

True faith issue...

I thought I've seen all of the modern day Vamp movies and read the facts/myths long ago? :( Okay, what is the true faith issue, hon?

Faith..rare gift or just another gimmick to get money to the church ;-)

Okay I may be totally off, But in some of the books I ve read it has nothing to do with the cross..it is the faith of the individual. In the past True Faith was a common and accepted part of most communities. In todays age actuall true faith is extremely rare. depending on the book some see true faith as a non denominational ability. Every one from an An Indian medicine man to a jewish Rabbi its just a matter of of the dedication and faith of the individual. If wielded correctly it could keep at bay those who live in darkness. I can quote books and movies but in all seriousness it would get silly because there are a myriad of views, opinions and beliefs. So I was just asking your take on it.

The anachronistic Ink

Well, I suppose it can get worked into the story if someone wants. It seems like it would be kinda dull if your character was immune to the Vamps, though? Use it if you'd like. :)

True faith issue would only work if we considered that vampires were the work of the devil. I don't really want this to become a debate of the good versus the devil sort of thread, although it might be an excellent plot twist.
There is something to be had there. Stephen King who wrote Salem's Lot didn't have the crosses themselves hurt the vampires, he made the faith of the person go through the crosses to wield of the vampires. I believe this is somewhat what your saying.
Nice to see you too Tigger. It's been too long. You have no idea what I've been through. I'll tell you about it sometime.

Character Sketches:

Okay, first of all, I am going to be greedy and hold two roles to this thread. (If it becomes hectic, I will drop the lesser of the two, though.) Anyone here is welcome to take on double roles if they so choose. Just try not to confuse yourself and post the wrong scene to the wrong name! ;)

Character One:
Mistress Casandra, Queen of the growing Vampyre race.
5' 8'
Long, silky black hair
Olive green, cat shaped eyes
36C chest
Neatly trimmed, black, pubic hair

Character Two:
Payna, human sex & blood slave to the Vampyric race.
5' 3"
Long, curly auburn hair
Emerald green eyes, large and round
34A chest
Bald pussy

P.S.
After talking to Roland some, we need someone to volunteer to be the Vamp who turned Casandra. Any takers? :D

Immunity vs Keep at bay...

First of all this has NOTHING to do with immunity...faith is fleeting and hard to maintain and even at its best it kept at bay or repulsed NOT immuned or destroyed alone. As for the "devil" issue your right Pooh its a cagey issue but one that I thought wasnt so much a Good /Evil issue as much as a cosmic balance..Even if there is no devil or no god. vampires have "supernatural" powers . Powers beyond the boundries of what we know as life.In my not so humble opinion I think theres two sides to every coin..supernatural can be weilded by the living AND the undead...in the living its more of a Psionics or a Faith but its still supernatural. Like all things its just an opinion that can be countered or supported by a myriad of beliefs and books.
(like your salems lot example) There are plenty of examples on both sides so I am NOT claiming to be right ..I was just asking a question for clarification before I hand myself over to the Human(snack food) group. In the end Tiggs is running the show and Im just getting a kick out of being allowed in one of Tiggs threads..;-)

Ink

ps..Im sleepy and slow to catch on but I think Pooh was trying to see my side of it. I appreciate that;-)Thanks for the example,I had been thinking of Cook,Rice,Rein*Hagen But King is a great example.

Okay, Night, you can be my mentor. ;) That will get worked into the history somewhere in the RP.

Ink, like I originally said, as long as it's not "life changing" to other role player's characters, I don't care what'cha do. :) Have fun with it.

Various humans coming online ;-)

Thanks Tiggs,I'll be good (scouts honor ;-)Most humans have a infintismal life expectancy so Iwanted to know if all my chars would just end up snacks.

Once again, it's up to you. No vamps are allowed to turn a human into a slave or another vamp without the role player's permission. Same goes to the humans. You are not allowed to kill off a vamp w/o the role player's permission. Thank you.

Here's my unsuspecting character. I can take a second of any sort if needed.

Michael Zane
Age: Late twenties.
Was a gymnast back in college. Now an archeology professor and a director in the local community theater.
6'1" 197#
Mid-length straight blonde hair, pale complexion with a scattering of freckles, smooth-chested body still in shape but threatening with the office butt-spread.

Captainb's thread caught my attention. Are we making this the third in a series? If so, then how exactly is everything set up again. Are we still back in the middle ages where technology has been rejected? Did humanity finally get back to their old ways after "thinking" they killed the vampires? Are there still only a handful of people left, along with lots of vampires, or lots of humans with only a handful of vampies.
Questions questions questions...

I just ASSumed. I'll adjust the history based on the time and locale.

Is everyone on vacation, or did I somehow miss the start of the story?

No, you didn't miss the story. I have been real busy outside of the computer world. Sorry. I've been trying to write up an opener too, but everytime I do, I don't like what I write. :(

The setting is going to be late 1800s Victorian New Orleans. It's going to be the "start" of everything from the former Vampyre threads (that Pooh and I started). But, if things don't match very well with the old threads, don't worry about.

Pooh, Roland and I were talking about his character and yours being brothers. We're gonna work that into how and why my character got turned in the first place. :)

Sorry it's taken so long getting this thread up and running. I have quite a bit written to start it so far, and Roland, Pooh and I have come up with some good ideas.

To keep our theme going, though, it is going to be Roland who turns Casandra into the vampyre. It fits into a plot line we're working on. Sorry.

Thread should be up sometime this upcoming week.

Thank you all for being patient with me. Hope to see you all there, still!

Cyn City...

Is now up and running! Feel free to go check it out! :) Also, please wait until after Poohlive makes his post to introduce his character before you post yours. Thank you.

If you have any questions or comments about the thread as it moves along, post them here, or contact myself, Poohlive, or Roland. Thanks. :)

Uhm...which previous stories

I was reading this and it sounds like fun, but I notice your mention of a prelude to your previous story. Can we still join even if we werent in (or havent read it)? If so what characters are open ?
