OOC: Star Wars - Episode VIII: The New Threat

Hey cool ... Last time we talked about internet service you had dial-up (I think) ...

With WoW ~

If the internet, servers or too many people in the same area, the game will lag ... I have had it w/ ping of 1k+ ... If it gets really bad try logging out to character sellection screen & then logging back in ... Or just waiting it out ... I have had the game boot me out the main login screen ...

I'm not into MMORPG's mainly because they are too repetitive but WOW looks awesome, I'm actually waiting on Ghost.

Okay, there's Raine and Marius.

Now all I have to do is cover Fusion and Tasla; Tie Rae (if that's how it's spelled), and my other one-hundred thirty-three characters...

I figure soon enough I might be ready to tell everyone where everything I'm trying to set up wil tie in (y'know, once I remember where everything I'm setting up ties in... )

I'm not exactly sure what they're referring to, but from what I know a lanvarok is an old imperial weapon, mainly used for torture (from Books so may not be valid)

   Ty Ab! :)

now to remember where we were going? Fleeing planet headed to.. *blank spot* Pd? Dev wounded? ok Im gonna back track a little in reading and reply soon.

A lanvarok is a short-ranged weapon usually worn on the forearm used to hurl a flurry of thin but solid disks in a unpredictable "spray" pattern. Coupled with a force-weilders ability to guide the disks, & a Siths ability to alchemically treat them to a superior hardness & sharpness, these weapons can be suprisingly devistating in close quarters.

basically, if you have seen a really really bad Dolf Lundrgrin sci-fi "I Come in Peace", the big bad guy in that movie uses a device very similar to a lanvarok.

yea, i went and did some research of my own on them they sound pretty cool i even found a website that had drawings of them pretty intresting. but thank you on your reply

also i was wondering whats happening to kelson and his apprentice daelon, did they just drop off the face of the earth or what.

oh speaking of weapons and such, are the lightsaber fighting forms the same as the books/other descriptions?

Yes.

But keep in mind, a lot of info has been lost.

Tynan found a holicron that taught Vaapad. Otherwise it would have been lost. Once mastering it, he's reluctant to teach it. It channels your darkness into the form.

"You either master Vaapad, or it masters you."

You can use whatever other form you want though. Have fun.

Abraxas, will post tomorrow.

Okay. NOt that we're on some sort of posting frenzy or anything, but if we're planning on ending the thread soon, at this rate, within the next 100 posts (which should take the rest of this year and half of next -- lol) or so, then I'll need to get a few things in position before this attack takes place.

I don't think it matters much where they take the children just yet, since we can decide that afterwards. The survivors can go where they go after the fact. For now, I need to get certain characters in place. First off, Marius and Raven have to return to the Order; my original plan was to have Nurrell and his crew join forces with the Jedi before the end of the thread. Marius being the only one they've ties to, and weak ones at that, it makes sense that he should be involved in the peace between them. If we rush through the rest of the thread, then that can happen at the start of the next one, or shortly after the start. But I still need he and Raven, and Caiben and Balle, to be going somewhere when the thread ends, even if it's not clear where to anyone but them.

As for many of the "extras," I don't feel they really need direction. The group on the Talon do, and Fusion needs to be introduced, along with his crew, and at least characterized a bit. Again, his reintroduction into the Jedi (if things go that way) can wait until the next thread, all assuming the next thread takes place at least fairly soon after this one. Also, a good idea that it does if we plan on reusing Solo, as he's already ancient. He makes a good touch, that shouldn't be bypassed, IMO.

We should probably end this with at least a feel for where we're going in the next one, though, I guess is my point. And yes, I plan on dumping some characters, just not major ones, in the rest of this and the next threads.

Fully aware, just wasn't all that certain if we'd given up our plans in public fashion, is all. Didn't want to ruin anyone's surprise.
