OOC: Street Fighter – Strung By Fate [PM if interested]

Except I don't know anything about Fei Long other than that he's a movie star based on Bruce Lee, anything about his moves, kung fu, or the guy he's based on. Zengief doesn't tremendously interest me. I'd rather not do T. Hawk as it'd result in a bunch of bad "injun" cliches being trotted out.

Ah well, Blanka's fun. Bear in mind I'll likely screw up until I get a handle on things.

Fei Long has the Rising Dragon kick. that's about the only thing i remember actually using on Super SF2

Deejays is cool one. Blanka is okay. May be a bit out of place though.

Hey folks.

Just wanted to let y'all know that there's not going to be any posting from me until Tuesday. I'm visiting family over the weekend. Sorry for the inconveinience, especially now that the Ryu/Sagat thing is heating up.

Blanka

AKA Jimmy

Birthplace: Brazil
Height: 192cm
Weight: 98kg
Blood type: B
Three sizes: B198, W120, H172
Fighting style: Self-taught savage fighting
Special skill: Hunting, Electrical discharge
Likes: Tropical Fruit, Pirarucu
Dislikes: Army Ants

The man known as Blanka was once a young man named Jimmy. Travelling by plane with his father, he was stranded in the Amazon Jungle of Brazil when the aircraft crashed. Raised by wolves, (in the Amazon?) he learned how to harness his bioelectricity from electric eels. Somehow he also turned green with orange hair. He'd had a vague notion he shouldn't have drunk the rainwater from the abandoned barrel with all the radiation symbols. Eh, these things happen.

He learned some language from a nearby village, taking his name from the monniker they gave him: Hombre Blanco. Translated from Spanish: White guy. Somehow a group of Spanish speaking villagers in a Portugese speaking nation saw past the hulking green exterior to recognize the caucasian within.

He travelled outside his forest to explore civilization, and to beat parts of it up in fights. While out he learned English from his new friend Dan Hibiki, who he'd rescued from poachers. Finally deciding the outside world was no big deal, he returned to his jungle. While listening to the villagers speak about a street fighter all the way from Japan, he realized that street fighters were somewhat recognizable. His mother didn't know where he was. He'd enter the tournament, become famous, and his long lost mother would see him, and find him! Brilliant!

As hairbrained as this scheme was, it worked. While attending a fight, she recognized the anklet he wore as a gift to her son. And somehow it still fit! Even though he'd owned it as a boy and now possessed ankles as big around as most peoples' thighs. Tearfully reunited, he returned home with his mother. There he learned of such things as reading, math, civilization. And also basic hygiene, posture, manners, and grammar.

Blanka was invited to the tournament by mail. He called up his bestest bud Dan to share the news. And Dan told him of how he'd been ostracized by world warriors jealous of his skills, and not invited. So, in a show of solidarity with Habiki, he decided not to attend. Until he got a voice message shortly before the tournament took place. In it, Dan outlined his plan to infiltrate the fight and confront the jealous warriors who pressured the organizers not to invite him. Surely they would be cowed by his awesome charisma and beg him to fight, that they might learn from watching a true master at work. Whereopun he'd show the jealous incompetents what-for in the ring.

Blanka hastily managed to convince his mom to book tickets to the next flight to Madrid, threw a bunch of stuff in a suitcase, and headed to Spain, to open a great big can of green whupass on the petty jerks who'd hurt Dan's feelings.

Blanka on a Plane sounds better.

So, I was all, "woah, Street Fighter". And then I started reading the OOC, and was "dude, like, FIFTEEN pages of obscure references to movies I haven't seen"! Not to mention "man, I have only played the SNES and VS X-Men! These guys are SO kicking me out".

But then I was "hey, I AM Spanish... maybe that counts for something?" So I started thinking "yeah, a tanned military female might be good... yeah... wait, Spain doesn't have that many females in the active military, and these guys can spit fire and shit, hmmm... Ok, let's think, Spanish Ninja is taken by Vega, so... hmmmm..."

:p

Basically, I am interested in joining, and will get to reading the Main Thread. Also, I may as well put this idea forth: A female Spanish Marine (we don't call them that, the American Marines have quite the bad reputation in Spain, she would have the official title "Infantería de Marina") who was in an accident when an helicopter crashed (pretty real-life, as you can see).

She would have entered coma. During it, she slowly became more aware of her own body, and the environment. She tried to "pull" the environment (actually, Chi energy, which is what Ryu, Ken and the others use if I remember correctly) into her so she could wake up, and kind of succeeded...

Basically, my character is able to gather Chi around herself. However, while Ryu and Ken could manipulate their own Chi into creating Hadoukens, fire, and such, she would be able to "pull the environmental Chi along".

The basic idea behind this character is that, the faster she moves, the faster she attracts Chi. Kinda like surrounding oneself with dust by attracting it instead of repelling it when you move. She still needs to train a lot to gather Chi quickly and use it in short bursts, but for the time being she is good at using it for strong attacks.

She can use it for offensive fighting, but defense is the best use for this. Environmental Chi is not as... "focused". Basically, while Ryu's hadouken could be considered a sword, her special defense could be considered a shield. This doesn't mean her attacks are weak, but rather that the strength is spread through a relatively wide area, meaning it is hard to dodge, but does not do as much damage as an equally strong attack would.

Of course, this would mean inmobilizing her is the best way to ensure victory. But she would be using mixes of wrestling and more refined martial arts to defend herself. She is unable to knock someone out with Vulcan pinches, though, so usually either she gets away, or she hits again and again until her target succumbs.

This all amounts to this: She is a strong character in defense, and gets stronger the more time she is given, so a fast fight is the way to go. If the opponent is a tough, brawly character who can pin her down with weight and strength, though (say, Blanka, Zangief, Honda, the heavy-weights...)

I like this character because it does not clash too much with the Street Fighter background (she is a new character), and she is Spanish so you have a representative of Spain (if Vega is taken, then you have two, which would be normal given the location of the tournament).

So, can I pwetty please join? ^^

actually, the Hadouken and HadouShoRyu are moves that involve drawing energy from the environment and focusing it using one's own chi....essentually, using their chi to focus the chi around them

Hmmmmm... I see...

Ok then, I guess I could think of something else...

I think it of course should be something involved with her being able to "read" and to an extent manipulating Chi and using it to wake up from her coma... but healing abilities sound either not fight-worthy, or over-powering.

If you guys can think of anything that might work with that, or have any suggestion, please let me know. I'll keep thinking about it myself, but any help will be welcome.

Rose does have much of what you desire
A strong defensive player

She was Bison's good side and is vaugely telpathic, Also reads the future.

She Boasts a few Defensive Moves.

Techniques

Rose's projectile, the Soul Spark, She tosses her scarf out. This can do damage but usually Dam. is done by the rose like spark hitting th eopponent. It is used defensively by pushing bock blockers and especially those who air guard. As it knocks them way back.

Rose's Soul Throw causes her to leap, catch, and throw an airborne opponent, most suitably when they jump in while blocking. This is really situational, But can be used a lot. Basically against any missed jump. I think this move is one of the reasons Ring Out win was never added to SF.

Rose's Soul Reflect either reflects enemy projectiles, or absorbs them into her super. And it really absorbs everything. Quite cool to play as her and Absorb Akuma's Metsu Hadouken. (Super Fireball)

The moves are given in context to gameplay because really that's the best way I can think of to give them.

Rose is the only person to Legitimately beat Bison Twice. Before she became his body for a while.

Unfortunately she's italian. I think that's her first strike.

IF you want to try some of the Third Strike Characters Elena has a healing move but otherwise she's damn hard to use, and all her moves are dance based.

Hope you decide to Join. Katamari Damcy was some awesome times BTW. Rolling up circular rainbows making the moon.

And I like your Ava. It reminds me of Urd from AH my Goddess, though I think it's one of the teachers from I My Me Strawbery Eggs, or Azumanga Daioh.

Stormy Sagat. Lovin' it. Seems like we will be missing a few players over the weekend. I think most involved in a match may still be around. We may have some time to kill, those of us still present. So I'll have Vega wreck some havoc then until everyone is free again.

LMAO....Vega's gonna get a whuppin <<

Vega is getting off mostly free so far.

Sagat is kicking a tree and looking for someone to calm him down.

And Your characters have food now Masume.

Yeah, there was just something in the "Katamari Roller" name that inmediately convinced me to keep it. It sounds sort of glamorous, yet fantastic at the same time.

My Avatar is Rider, from Fate Stay Night. A hentai game adapted for an anime (not hentai). You can watch it subbed in Youtube, but the game seems to be definitely better. Also, you can find images of Rider and the other characters in Google easily enough, as well as read about her and the anime in Wikipedia (the franchise has a huge fandom).

Now, I would like to clarify something. I do not want to play a canon Street Fighter. You see, I am not THAT well versed about Street Fighter. I would rather RP a new character than screw around with the expectations of others regarding character and techniques.

Besides, I have found a concept I think I could work with. The basic idea is my character would be able to "destroy" Chi. That is, she can simply erase it or dramatically disperse it. Her special attacks would revolve around destroying a character's Chi either attacking him, or defending herself.

About the defense, it is more or less like I described before. Either deviate it or dodge and lessen its effect. On the attack, though, she can basically inmobilize people for extended periods of time.

For example, if she were to hit someone's wrist with her attack, that someone would lose all mobility to his/her wrist, and by extension to his/her hand. I see Chi as a circuit roughly equivalent to a nervous system, so by cutting that circuit she can weaken severely that limb.

If she hit someone's head with it, it would at the very least weaken their senses severely as well as leaving them dizzy. The most would be killing (she of course won't do this unless her life is threatened). On the other hand, if she hit a vital organ, she would weaken it severely. Hit the heart, and blood won't be able to flow fast enough to maintain vitality (resulting in a black out until the effects disappear), hit the lungs and breathing is suddenly nearly impossible, etc...

Of course, characters that center around healing themselves with Chi would stand a good chance of recovering from these attacks, supposing they act fast enough.

So, does any character in Street Fighter have this skill? ^^

Huh. Not really. Gen has something like that. And Does things like that. But Not sure how much you want to play a 70 year old man with Cancer.

it is an interesting concept. And I think that I'd consider it.

I've been wanting to start a Non canon original character fighter thread for a bit.

Maybe there. Course not my thread so I can't say.

But I hope you decide to join up anyway.

Meh do what you want. Everyone else seems to want you to join.

Yay!

*refrains from tap-dancing, barely*

But I hope I am not being inconvenient, or anything... if you want me to fulfill a certain role in the Role Play, I'm open to any suggestions as long as they are given having in mind my character will be a female Spanish Marine.

Maria Vazquez Salvador
Birthplace: Spain
Birthdate: January 3, 1976
Height: 179cm
Weight: Rounding 80kg
Fighting style: Military hand-to-hand, mix of throws and hard, fast strikes
Special skill: Infantry tactics, veteran of quite a few small-scale engagements with the Tercio de Armada, Spanish Marines.

Likes: Any physical exercise, meeting new people, pushing her limits.
Dislikes: Arrogance, lack of honor, lack of pride, insecurity.
Build: Tall, with muscles well toned and an ample bossom, her dark air falls down to her shoulderplates. An athlete's body, really.

Maria Vazquez Salvador has always been, for as long as she remembers, a fighter. Started with sports, excelled in gymnastics and volleyball before joining the Spanish Infantería de Marina, the Spanish equivalent of the USA Marines. While a small unit by comparison, the Infantería took part in many humanitarian missions, sometimes involving the protection of civilians through an armed response in South America, Africa, and even in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

A Lieutenant, her low rank is deceiving. Her understanding of infantry and armor tactics is as good as you can get, and she is an example for her soldiers, always leading from an optimistic, all-stakes attitude. Cheerful and care-free, her passions revolve around sports one way or the other.

Maria was involved in an accident when the transport helicopter she was in crashed, killing half the crew and a couple of her inmediate subordinates. Maria herself fell into a coma for three whole months, but her brain somehow remained more active than normal. She got out of the coma, and during the next few months she started training, pushing her limits to master a skill she apparently learned subsconciously, and which she has called "Corta-Nervios", or "Nerve Cutter".

By focusing her Chi, and re-directing it through the environmental one, she is capable of striking at an opponent's Chi circuit with accurate, hard strikes that interrupt the normal flow of this vital energy, effectively severing the organ or limb's possibilities of working properly for a period of time.

Maria has nearly mastered this skill in the eight years she has spent training obsessively day and night when her job let her, and sees this tournament as a chance to improve her already formidable potential...

Optimistic, Maria can, and is more willing to, see the good side of people and situations, but has her clear ideas around certain things or pre-conceived opinions, and is strong-headed about changing them.

Maria will be making her appearance soon. If someone is willing to meet her, she would be coming in through the main door, into the hall, then up to dinner.

I will post her entrance in less than half an hour.

Please, don't make me pull SPANISH RAGE on you, guys. You wouldn't like it.

I want an even number again. Blanka gave us 11. 12 can be done.

And more girls is nice.

You're still half our population though. Don't worry.
