ooc: the story behind those crazy names...

Hey Yo Shila!

Hey Shila come join me in the Grinning Griphon Inn looks to be fun and I bet we can stir things up a bit. lol With our knowledge of Ad&d and vampires. I'll be looking for you. LOL

Grinning gryphon inn? I havn't heard of that!
Oh, also, farscape is quite a show. In the latest episode, He was again in the "home world" which was a memory-enduced fake world. Since he knew this time that everything was fake, (also helped by the fact that his friends were taking on roles of typical humans. you know, sexaholic, tweeky, groopy, boss, psychoanalyst, etc... etc.. etc..) He simply ran amuk. Being disrespectfull to his boss, throwing insults, throwing people off buildings, in one scene, his boss (portraid by the slug guy) was in a golf cart ordering him to come back to work, he simply kissed him on the lips, dragged him merrily up the steps, then spin-spin-spin, and Whoops, there goes the boss down 7 stories. Lol and Ha ha ha, I'de like to see that again.

When a name is given, it cannot be taken back. It is a curse or a blessing, but it goes before you and creates an impression. "That's Orsino...he's the gambler who's killed eleven men on the Mississippi. They say he's a real duke of some small country in Europe, got run out 'cause he done kilt the son of the Hapsburg Emperor or somethin'. Me, I think he's from someplace frilly, like Paris. He don't look so tough. Sure, he's big--hell, he stands a head taller'n anybody on this Riverboat. But that don't make him fast. I'm gonna play him at cards, and I'm gonna cheat and call HIM the cheat. Then we'll see."

The words above were spoken by Reddog Burke the night he was gunned down on the Charleston Paddlewheel. Too bad for Reddog, but he always was a horse's ass. Now, I'll bet if a real fast gun like me tried that Duke feller...

OOC: What I want to know is how this constitutes online discussion, since everybody has to wait for their replies just like all the other BB's?

About Sith:
the name was the name of an AD&D necromancer I got in a pbem, it was already given by Ravenloft, so I don't know the story.

About Orsino's question, it is called online role playing because to get to write to it, you have to be online... but yes, it is like any other BB.

"Fetch Duke!"

--thwak--

"Nice through Dufus!"

(sorry, I had to do that)

"The colors Duke, THE COLORS!"

"I'm color blind, Kid"

---dumb look---

(Sorry again. they just seem to slip out)

Sorry, wrong thread......

Oh no! it's been an entire week and I don't have any new characters! Quick, someone start a new thread! If you won't, than I will!

The Duke takes out his pearl-handled .44 and shoves it down Cryo's throat. "Sit, boy, sit. Bad dog." Orsino pulls the trigger and unleashes a thunderous roar, accompanied by a blast of bone and skull in wet red mush that splatters the wall behind the roulette wheel. Orsino casually slides his smoking handgun into the Moroccan leather holster under his left armpit. "I hate it when somebody mocks man's best friend." He tosses a handful of blue chips on the "EVEN" square on the gambling table and sips his cognac, waiting for the cabin boys to swab away the mess and the roulette wheel to spin. Piano music resumes, and the laughter of young whores can be heard in the crowd. The Duke sips and watches.

OOC: Nothing personal. It's an animal-lover thing...LOL

For once, I'll say that I am angry with someone. Duke, we do not make remarks about using weaponry, making threats, or raping around here.

The blood, brains and pink bones and goo turned to silver. The cloths melted into the body. Every piece became a small silver puddle. The puddles began moving. Moving closer to each other. One by one they joined and combined untill a sufficiantly large puddle of silver quivered on the floor. The puddle then began to rise off the floor! It reached the height of a man, then began to re-form itself into the shape of cryo! the silver coloring dissapeared and Cryo stood there, a truly sinister look on his face. The duke had his back to all of this all the time, but that suited Cryo fine. He raised his arm, and plunged it into the back of the Duke, his hand turning into a blade! the bladepunctured the duke's heart, killing him instantly. But iut wasn't enough. The blade then began to twist, slowly, until a gaping hole existed in the Duke's chest. Cryo withdrew the blade, which melted back into the shape of a hand. Giving a menacing look to everyone in the saloon, he took Duke's head, envoloped it in his metalic chest, and walked out, digesting the flesh with pleasure.

What the hell are you doing?

I thought I just said that there will be none of that around here!!!???:mad::mad:

OOC: Morgoth, lighten up. It was a joke. He called me a dog. I shot him. These are words, not actions. I'm actually gentle soul who'd never hurt anybody. But my characters are sometimes mean and cruel; other times noble and heroic. They are characters, not me. This is play. You have a right to be angry..that's your fantasy. And speaking of you, Morgoth, you end every post with some bloodthirsty drivel about riding your horse up to the knees in the bodies of your enemies, so don't get self-righteous with me. I will not post to this board again, nor reply to any comments. I have said my piece and depart in peace.

Hey that's right morgoth, I thought you changed your signature allready? Why change it back?

on an up note, that is really something in The enterance, having us gods meat like that. I can only apologize if I got your personality wrong

Not at all, Cryo, okay, I guess I over-reacted. That is a signature. A famous quote. It's normal. I changed it back because it was requested to me by someone on the General board.

D&D... Vampire... Magic...

now why can't there be people like you in RL, LadyChance?

Because then everyone would get some action. It's not like we expect anyone to like the little things, right? I prefer to fall back on a more understandable obcession. Cryogenics. the study of extremely cold temperatures. and NO, it's not freezing people. That's cryonics. Get your cryo's strait man!

anyway, if you have a valid obcession, than the undiserving ones like Anime, Digi/pokemon, DND, Magic, RPG'ing and video games are less of a turn off.

i have a valid obsession!

i'm a total bookworm. I take solcae in unreal people's lives and insinuate myself into the story in fantasies in the weirdest ways.

Hey, Shila. I've finally gotten around to the other threads!:)

My name is simple: I play White Wolf's "World of Darkness" RPG when I'm offline. If you don't know that title, you might know the subcategories it contains: Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Vampire: the Masquerede, and Mage: the Ascension are probably their most popular areas of the game, but by far not its limits. One of my Mage characters has a "primordial" essence and a "loner" demeanor. Hence, my nickname.

VAMPIRE FIEND!!!!!!

i can't believe they rereleased all the clanbooks. I got a look at the Malkavian one and got really happy. they turned Scrawl into an obfuscate discipline, can you believe that?!? okay, I suppose you DO play Vampire. I'm in a tabletop game using DarkAges rules in the modern WOD and in a LARP game. We just finished a chronicle in chicago; my Gangral got her sire murdered by the brujah prince while the Brujah justicar was in town with a Ventrue and a Gangrel Archon. The Gangrel Archon kindof adopted me... so he's my "honorary" sire. (Yes, I know, most Gangrel don't claim membership in the Cam, but I pledged my loyalty to the prince, not the Cam. And I was defending my city... (this character is weird; she was a Nos. ghoul before she got embraced, so she had Obfuscate x3...)

You ask if I know White Wolf's WOD? *grins* Waht do you think? I'd love to play a Garou, but there's no space in either game. Now, in the new chronicle, we're RiPping in New Orleans (MARDI GRAS!!!) and I have a Caitiff. lots of my characters have loner natures and demeanors of deviant/rebel/rogue.

ummm... I have the 3rd ed. LOTN book and the Book of Nod. I'm trying to get my hands on the new Malkavian clanbook...

Arianali, Malkavian Methuselah

WOD

I must admit, I am (relatively) a newbie to the White Wolf games. I only have the MtA book (and I read it cover-to-cover as soon as I got it; what a great game!) and I have read a friend's copy of the WtA book. I don't know much about VtM, unfortunately. :( Strangly enough, I felt the urge to download all of its character sheets from the WW website. :D

I gathered from your posts in other threads that you played VtM, but unfortunately that was after I made my previous post on this thread. I apologize if it sounded pretentious or condescending in view of your knowledge. In fact, I can easily say that it is obvious that you have much more experience with the game than I.

I would have more experience playing WOD, except that most of my friends/aquaintances who play the game are not very interested in it anymore; they started losing interest at about the same time that I was first being exposed to it. :( They now spend their time playing some card game called "Legend of the Rings" or something like that. They tried to get me interested in it, but I found it too complicated and not creative enough.

To make matters worse for my experience, I eventually became desperate as the months went by when no one wanted to start a storyline so I decided to get together with some other newbies around my area and make my first exposure to the world of WOD RPGs as a Storyteller. Big mistake! The thing fell apart after a few weeks and, essentially, crashed and burned before it ever really got a chance to take off. That was almost a year ago, and I haven't had much experience since.

Overall, I must say that I enjoy being a Mage the most. I *really* *like* MtA....

Uh.....I think were getting a little off subject here. the topic of this thread is the stroy behind alias names and character names. Not IRL hobbies.

My newest character is none other than Chrono himself. Guardia is freed from the clutches of Lavos, so Chrono is free to traverse the unknown dimentions, aiding the trans-dimentional army in it's plight. If you think he was cool in Guardia, wait untill you see him use his Luminair in the chase!

Suddenly, I can picture CHrono fighting in Marvel vs. capcom games. His super move is luminair, his hyper move is Lightning 2, his grapling super is Arch impulse, and his L3 super is Quadrupel cut.

Sudenly, I can pucture Raichu in the MVC games, using Thunder as his antiair super, Agility as his hyper move, and Gigashock as his super.

Then I think of Wargreymon as a big/slow/incredibly strong character in MVC games. Tera force as his super, Tera Drill as his hyper, and slice and dice as his grappling super.

Now I think about the Red Power ranger (from any series) as a swordweilder. And then comes sailor moon. Oh look, it's Zero, from the Megaman x games! Is that leonardo and rafiel? What are turtles doing here? Bionic comando, Celes, Mario, Link, Archangel, Superman, Batman beyond, Kyuare (Keyu-ar-ey), Inque, Carnage, blanka, Bishop, Ghost rider, Lilymon, Angemon, Escaflowne, The chojin (overfiend), Cloud, Boy, etc......
