The moment Xan began responding to her tentative kiss, she was consumed. It was suddenly as if he was everywhere at once, touching all of her, making her skin burn. She wanted to strip off the rest of her clothes, at once to soothe her hot skin and to press herwelf even closer to him, the source of that heat.
She could barely keep track of what was happening through the haze of sensation, until suddenly, Xan was no longer kissing her. She hadn't even been properly aware of when she'd ended up on her back underneath him, but when she pulled away, she found herself looking up at the sky. Her lips felt swollen and bruised from the intensity of the kiss. She tried to close the distance between them again - his face so temptingly close, just hovering above hers - but his fingers in her hair held her in place, and she whimpered in disappointment.
"Not here, not now, it isn't safe," he told her. The passion in his voice warded against the first waves of rejection that has started washing through her. He wanted her, that much was not in question.
She lifted a hand to his face and found that she was trembling slightly. There was a long pause, one where she seriously considered fighting his grip to kiss him again, to tempt him into giving in. But she thought better of it. He was right, after all.
"I'm sorry," she murmured, her voice rough. "I... I had a dream about you, and we... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have jumped you like that. It's too dangerous."
