Over 50 Introduce Yourself (again)

58 and loving it

Howdy all! I'm 58 and living in Oregon. I'm happily married, but she and I both are looking for alternative escapades with those of the opposite sex. Please feel free to write me any time be it sexual or not. Wishing everyone all my best! :)

I'm 59 and trying to figure out how to keep from hitting 60, but I think it's a lost cause.

Why are we spending so much time talking about being old?

Do you guys feel old? And if so, how?

Do you look old?
Does your body act old?
Does your mind act old?
Do other people treat you as though you're old?

Have you run out of energy and enthusiasm for life?

Hitting 60 is a fine thing.
The alternative to hitting 60 is not.
Your age is part of who you are, but it does not singularly define you.

Aging is inevitable... its the gradual decay we need to keep ahead of!

I don't think I look old but I am certain I thought my mom and dad looked old when they were in their 50s (I was a teenager). It's all relative, pardon the pun. The older I get the more attractive older woman are - maybe because they are the only ones I can keep up to ;)

Good Morning...

57/M from the UK ...wondering at what point my physical body overtook my mind? :)
But I'm still here - alive and kicking, can still get it up and have met some wonderful people here on Lit.

Always happy to talk naughty ;)

56 from Northern England .. mooching around lit .. popping up here and there.... always up for a good natter with whatever tickles your fancy !!

Early 50 something

years here and true enough I don't really feel old, yes it takes a while to get mobile in the morning ( I blame all the years as mechanic walking on concrete day in and out). The hair is grey but its there, I show some signs of maybe enjoying life a little more as I got better jobs (pant size are little larger)

But I don't get treated as old as a matter of fact I had a younger lady show me some very fond times earlier this year and if I didn't learn anything its that this dog still has a few tricks he can do that have only gotten sharper with age....:)

When I turned 50 the govt sent me a letter welcoming me to the Seniors. So the govt told me I was old. When you make a noise getting up from a seat then you know you're old.

Ladders - when you can't stand on a ladder for too long and get leg pain the next day, you know you're old.

Being old is working to what your body allows you to do, cause if you fight it your body will make you pay.

When you get on public transport and young people offer their seat to you, that's them telling you they see you as old.

When you're really old, your body doesn't do the things your mind says you can.

Talking about getting older or being old is what old people do. Never ask an old person how they are or you'll be there a while. Just say hello unless you've nothing else to do for the rest of the day.

So embrace your age cause things could always be worse. It's quality not quantity. These days I can afford a more expensive bottle of single malt scotch. Couldn't do that in my 20's.
