part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

She smelled fresh brewed coffee from somewhere in the ether and followed the aroma back to the Pearl. She should have known. She couldn't resist and popped in. The air stirred as she appeared on his bar, empty coffee cup in her hand.

"Afternoon, CG. How are things going for you? How's your health?"
He smelt coffee in the air while he looks at the bar. Turning over to Cait, who walked in the place as he smiled at her. "Well hello again Cait, how are you this afternoon?"

Afternoon Ish. Seeing a longing look in hi eyes I pour Ish a mug of coffee with a splash of rum.

I am well, thank you for asking, Ish. Ready for the weekend?

A rainy Saturday without much to do. I think a cup of coffee and a bottle of wine are in order.

Hopefully not together, that would make for an interesting combination.

Today is my one and only sanity day, no work, no children and no man child!
The children and man child are both not mine but relations that have over spent their welcome unfortunately it will be awhile before weather permits them to leave for good.

Honey when it comes to house guests that have overstayed their welcome I have learned on to assume facts not yet in evidence.

No its coffee first and later the bottle of wine........I think something Spanish.

I am usually the same but there was some rather bad flash flooding where they are from (late last month) and being the kind cousin I am I loaned them out my granny flat until roads are open and their house has been stabilized.
The rule of them staying in the granny flat was that I would not be playing the conventional host as the majority of my time is spent working. That went out the window within days of them arriving, I had to bribe them with a day out in town to get some peace.

I must admit I know nothing about wine at all, Rum is my drink of choice.

I also like my rum Honey. ;)

You might charge them rent.
😍

I would but the man child was between jobs when the floods hit and I feel sorry for the children they didn't have much to start with and I can't bring myself to take what little they could have away from them.

English breakfast tea it is Honey. I pour her tea as I pour myself a mug of coffee.

So what are you up to today Miss?

The smell of fresh coffee draws me from the shadows of the Inn, and over to the relative brightness of the bar. I pour a large mug, then add a healthy shot of Irish for good measure.

"Good morning all, last night's quickening moon has given way to a beautiful day here, and after watching the swans glide past on the river, all feels well with the world."

That is certainly and enchanting image rural life Strange. I trust your weekend went well.

I pour a mug of coffee and settle in my old leather chair by the hearth.

It did indeed CG, better than expected. It was good to step back from the chaos for a while.

I always preferred that when it comes to the storm and chaos to be in the center of the storm where it is quiet Strange.

Again the skies are a dark overcast and a light rain puddles the Inn's court yard. The cobbles shimmer and glisten in the subdued light. The aroma of fresh brewed coffee calls me from the window. A cup of rich black coffee is what I need to start the day.

Morning to any who may be about and to those that hide in the shadows.

Good morning CG, a little damp out there, but as they say, "upon us all, a little rain must fall." Been busy here today, but not manic, so that works for me.

*wakes up from a wild party last night, celebrating his 31st birthday. Regretting he passed out at the bar again.* "Ughhh... Last time I outdrink a northman..." *Said while his headache throbs.*
