part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

I envy you, Jack. Finding a hobby to keep busy in this eerily quiet forum.

Speaking of the forum, has it been the norm to have "Total: 1,869" online, but only "members: 284" compare to "guests: 1,585"? I wonder how many is actually lurking or actively engaging on SRP. 🤔

I wish the best to any who are still writing. I do love writing and that is what keeps me hear. Yet perhaps my likes are no longer in vouge.

Walking from the kitchen doorway into the main room, she rose her cuppa at Jack after noticed he was holding one as well.

A low whimpered, a bit surprise with Tio emerging from the well hidden chair.

This inn surely has had some surprising and fascinating entrances. Greetings all!
*she popped into the Pearl and sat on her rafter, legs swinging idly*

Greetings, LM. How goes your day so far?

The morning dawns cool with only a temp in the upper 50F to lower 60F's for the day time highs for a temperature. A hot mug of coffee is defiantly called for. Despite the temps I set out in the Inn’s courtyard in the cool sunshine.

Morning to any who may be about and to those that hide in the shadows

In Québec, it used to be Dollard des Ormeaux Day. Then the true story of Dollard became well-known and it was changed to le Jour des Patriotes.

Kingston was always big on Victoria Day, given it's home to Queens University.

So, true Tio. I always found that St Jean de Baptiste was the big celebration in Quebec.

Yes, the patron Saint, a day of quiet religious reflection and a night of bonfires, booze, and debauchery. A night in keeping with Summer Solstice observances around the Northern Hemisphere.

Of course, we're just a fortnight past Walpurgisnacht, another good celebration:

It is amazings how feast get new images and yet seem to always come around Tio.

Mother Nature's roll of the dice brought early morning rain and bright sunshine by noon with temps in the upper 60F's and lower 70F's. It seems that Nature just can not settle on what season it is.
As I pour another mug of coffee.

Morning to any who may be about and to those that hide in the shadows. ;)

The roll of Mother nature's dice has brought just the opposite of yesterday. Bright sun in the morning and chilly driving periods of rain this afternoon.
G'day to any who may be about. And to those that hide in the shadows.

Cold for the week here, cg, and perhaps beyond. Time to stay in and plan the summer's road trip. Some writing to catch up on as well.

All is good with you, i trust?

Tio as well as can be expected. So the road is calling to you? Where are you heading for this summer?

Through Maine, ferry to Nova Scotia, back across the Fundy to New Brunswick and then back through Québec along the St. Lawrence.

That is a great trip Tio. I have made it a couple of times. Know I am across the country in the Pacific Northwest.

At one time I was up in Quebec about every 2 months.

How am I well I have several problems with my nervous system.

I hope your problems can be resolved sufficiently.

I do have to get back to the Pacific Northwest. Toured the San Juan Islands last year, but I need to tour the land as well. Maybe next year.
