Pedophilia Scandal: Republican Congressman Resigns

Is that two republicans stepping down today?

LovingTongue's gonna have a big stiffy.
Well, ya know what they say............

if ya can't beat 'em at the ballot box, send 'em to Club Fed instead!

The dems are taking Congress, one imprisoned Republican at a time!

Before you know it, neo cons will be bumping Republican pedophiles down to being less offensive than Robert 'the former racist' Byrd. Oh, hi Cap'n Amatrixca!

Of course, then there's Strom Thurmond......

When i saw the name foley i thought it was the one from washington state, but it was not.

But let's note some things he did not do.

He did not smear his accusers.

He did not pull a Cynthia McKinney.

He did not wait for a conviction ala William Jefferson.

He did not try to stay in the race to keep the seat, ala this Menedez clown who will most likely be pulled at the last minute ala Torricelli and Lautenberg so that that seat can be saved for the Democrats. Lastly, the celebatory tone here from Democrats having picked up a seat speaks volumes."

Yeah, let's nominate Foley for sainthood. Sure, he could be facing sex-related charges involving several minors. But at least he did what's right for the party -- the same party that knew about these allegations since 2005.

As long as he's loyal to OUR side, that's what's important, huh?

That is not what I said, read my very first line.

What I did do is point out how a Democrat would act under similar circumstance like when the Clinton's focused the power of Washington DC on poor little Paula Jones for daring to speak up and ask for her day in court under the very law Bill signed.

Bullshit.

You were trying to soften the damage to the Republicans by trying to change the subject and spread blame on completely unrelated matters. It's a child-like response: "Yeah I got caught, but so-and-so did this and so-and-so did that."

Give it up.

You are the one starting multiple threads on the grave damage being done to Republicans in a country so deeply divided that nothing matters other than "getting" the road runner.

You could care less about Democrat corruption as long as they gain power.

Which is why I vote against Democrats.

There you go again, trying to change the subject and put the honus on the democrats for pedophilia practiced by a Republican. I won't say you were defending a pedophile for the "cause" but you certainly seemed sympathetic.

As far as the multiple threads:
Just throwing out topics for debate -- which is no different than what I see many of those (including yourself) interested in politics doing here.

The key distinctions are that I represent a different viewpoint, and I'm mostly doing it to fuck with some of you because I think the lengths to which some of you will go to defend your side are hysterical. :)

I hope he goes to jail.

I hope William Jefferson goes to jail.

One faced his fate with dignity; the other screamed racism...

It's a matter of political culture and raises the question, does character matter?

It doesn't to Democrats unless it involves a Republican.

Anyone remember Gary Studds? He was caught banging a 17 year old boy back in the day, he was also a democrat.

The disgusting behavior of individuals like Foley and Studds has nothing to do with political affiliation, they are sick individuals who cannot control their most basic urges.

The lesson learned here is that e-mail records last forever. :)

Yet another A_J bullshitfest. The Democrats were among the first to berate William Jefferson after his office was raided. The resulting tumult in congress over searching congressional offices was bipartisan, look that word up A_J, I know you don't know the meaning.
I hope Foley goes to jail, I hope Jeferson goes to jail. I'm bipartisan like that. If you break the law, you go to jail. It's the Republicans who circle the wagons and defend their man to the last breath (case in point Tom DeLay). Had Foley not resigned immediately it's a sure bet we would have seen the typical reaction from the GOP, lie and deny.

You are right Jim. Republicans let their criminals hang, Democrats rally around theirs.

Hell, sometimes, they even RUN for office from jail...

;) ;)

What are the chances that B_Gus is an LT alt?

*points*
*laughs*

Yes A_J, everyone is an LT alt. Do you see him in your nightmares? I'm pretty sure your mental mentor does.

Now all we need is miles to show up and proclaim with gusto that anyone who dares disagree MUST be LT and the thread will be complete.

Yes he certainly solicited teen boys with DIGNITY. LOL.

No I'm not LT, Jenny -- whoever that is.

I'm just someone who joined LIT for the stories and discovered the joy of posting on this board and fucking with Bush supporters. It's what I do on the Yahoo message boards as well.

It's really just that simple. I love watching you guys struggle to spin things. And I really love how angry you get when your logical fallacies are pointed out.

House Republicans gave Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio) a standing ovation after he told them yesterday that he has no plans to resign and will vigorously fend off a likely federal indictment.

***

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Reynolds (R-N.Y.) continued to support his Republican colleague yesterday.

“I’m supporting Bob Ney as he runs for reelection,” Reynolds said. “We will support him like we support all our incumbents. Bob Ney is my candidate running for reelection.”

Is DeLay still fighting even though he was charged with a law that hadn't been yet written by a Democrat who openly bragged that he was going to "get" him?

Has Rove been frog-marched over the Plame case by a DA who ALREADY KNEW WHO DID IT but when on a political witch hunt anyway? You were one of the ones who were crowing on that one from the git-go, I even quoted you in the aftermath.

Did this latest guy go after his accusers the way everyone went after the women in Clinton's life?

Can you give me a second good example, 'cause theys more Democrat fish in that barrel than Republican...

;) ;)

As for molesting boys with dignity, now you are upping the crime; he didn't molest, he made innapropriate innuendos. But facts don't matter to people who just want to "get" Bush, now do they B_Gus...

:p

I don't see anything in that article that indicates the guy is guilty and everyone is still supporting WIlliam Jefferson. This could be just another Plame Gate...

I mean, if association means guilt, the Reid needs to at least step down from his leadership position having given Abramoff's client tribe that which it desired after accepting contributions.

;) ;)

Where's the similar Republican support for the guy who confessed to wrong-doing?

Not like Marion Berry who went to screaming about being set-up...
