Pending -- How long?

After reading "Gebunden" in German and English, I transliterated it--I know not why--into ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. Looked pretty cool, so I tried to post it here, and later tried to PM it to you. No go. Lit's servers won't accept the characters.

Probably just as well. If you were poet laureate to Cleopatra, you'd probably going bananas trying to rhyme those strange looking and probably unpronouncable characters.

I know from experience that it feels even better to get stories approved when people read, vote and comment on them.

I just tossed them the next two chapters..lawdy knows how long it will be from there.Least the editor I used (Which is Rozezwild whom is absolutly awesum BTW..plugs her nick in there) didn't tell me they sucked.-laughs- That's a good thing I hope...and asked for my next one, figured by now she'd have the shits of me..!

9 Days to post mine.. wasn't bad..I guess it could have been worse.I guess I needed to look at the brighter side..-sucks in a breath as she takes her own advice thinking that just sucks when one needs to tighten the belt and learn and live what she gives out to others-

More generally, it takes up to twelve months from final manuscript to seeing your words in print on paper - so stop moaning about ten days for electronic approval.

So far Chapters 1-6 have been approved for Falling, and A Far Cry From Heaven is up.

If I can ever finish wading through some editing things I need to get taken care of, I'm going to throw the next twenty chapters into the pond and finish out Wicked Ways for submission.

I have three stories, submitted last Monday (april 3). Within 2 days had "2" views which is quick, then a day later SIX - never had that before - now 11 but STILL pending ... I've emailed but had no luck - can't figure out what is going on??

since last wednesday (so almost a week) been pending and nothing moving on it ... I haven't heard from the editors regarding issues with the stories so am totally conufsed ...

has this happened to anyone else?

Hmm, I'd say don't freak about it just yet. It doesn't sound like much out of the ordinary, except for the long pending time, and even that can happen occasionally, and has lately.

So, drinking a cup of tea and playing the waiting game seems about the best I can propose. Sorry about the lack of real help from me, but I think you just need to be even more patient...

ETA: Authors have reported up to 102 views or something in that general range before their story got posted. 11 really is nothing to worry about.

But that gives me a little bit of hope - the truth of the matter is I have been dealing lately with a creepo pyscho internet stalker - last week he hacked into my blog which was PRIVATE and took it over and I had a link there for here and to my stories ... I guess I was concerned he had followed me here.

But if that is not uncommon, then this lass will keep her knickers on and stop worrying!

Thank you. Because I'm trying to add at least one new thread to my story each day, I'd really rather not have to hold off on editing it until it gets approved.

(But if editing a story does move it to the bottom of the approval queue that's a really dumb design.)

And snooper, if I was waiting for one of my stories to be printed I wouldn't be waiting for the story to appear, I'd be worrying about when the check would arrive. It's totally different here when reader feedback is the only 'payment' I get for writing the story, and I can't get any until the story is approved.

Mayhem, dun worry too much, doll, mine had 9 to 11 views apiece before they were accepted.

SunandShadow: You're welcome, and trust me, I understand. right now I'm thrilled that they're approving mine at the rate of one a day... as I am heading towards 40 chapters atm.

Once they start accepting them, it goes pretty steadily, it seems.
