Pending Series in Moderation?

So I have a manual series stuck in pending for over a month now (submitted 2/14, today is 3/16). I've seen on the forums that series can indeed take an extremely long time, but when do you think I should either try messaging Laurel about it or cancel the series and resubmit a new one? I wasn't very concerned before, but now that the series has multiple chapters, I want to make it easy for readers to find them all. Unfortunately, for some reason, the auto-series grouping didn't kick in even though I did make the suffixes Ch. 01, Ch. 02, etc.
Same. I had a series created automatically. I changed it to Manual, and it went to moderation. It's been there for months. I've deleted it twice and added the Series again, and it just sits there for months. I am pretty close to pulling all my stories and taking them elsewhere.

You should have left it as it was, if it was joined together correctly. The chapters are still there, though. Readers should be able to figure it out.

You do realise that Lit is the biggest market for I&T stories? You're not going to get anywhere near the same number of readers elsewhere.

Not trying to be difficult, but did you remember to press Publish at the bottom? Not just save. I forgot that once and waited ages until I figured out my mistake.

Yes, I did click Publish. I have made that mistake before as well.

As I say, I have one pending since 3/19. They can take some time. I get the feeling they batch up a lot. If you hit it right it can be quick. Other times it can be weeks.

The "Chapters" were not in the correct order.

That's because you cocked up the spacing for Chapter 09. You didn't leave a gap in the text, so the problem is of your own making.
So would submitting an edit for the title fix it?

(That's a joke, for people less experienced than EB. Story edits are also very slow.)

I think a lot of people are confused with how best to use the Series Manager, how to create a series, and how to properly add to a series.

The multiple options in some of this can also cause confusion. (ie; create or add to a series after it is automatically created by the system when publishing, or use the Series Manager to manually do it)

And let's not get into what constitutes a series versus a serially written story (chapters), both of which are treated as equal on this site.

Personally, I have never had a series, or series episode, stuck in moderation. Every episode gets submitted as a new story as normal, and the title gets associated to the other episodes automatically. In my opinion, to do otherwise adds another layer of moderation to navigate, and needless steps to an already problematic publishing process.

How are stories submitted as a series vs just individual uploaded stories?

I'm going on 6 weeks now and just submitted another. Some pending since 2/26.

Help.

TIA.

You can submit stories with names using the same pattern:

Delightful Delores 01
Delightful Delores 02

etc. That will create a series automatically, usually within a day of submitting the second one. Warning: if you screw up the title and it isn't totally identical:

Delighted Delores 03

That story will never be added unless you change the title, which takes forever.

Manual series are under your control. Downside: they can take over a month to create. Mine have. Before you even publish the first story, publish the manual series. Then you can publish your stories directly into it as you finish them.
