My first story has been pending over two weeks, why?

Very frusrating for a new writer as nowhere comes info when it will be published.

I'm an experienced writer and my latest has been Pending for 8 weeks.

I don't think I've waited more than 4 weeks for a new story to be published, but edits often seem to go into a black hole. I've got 24 story edits that have been pending for a couple of months now. I gather that new material and edited are handled differently, though I'm not sure just how.
In the past I've resorted to having the original deleted, which was pretty quick, then resubmitting the edited version as a new story, and that worked, but doing it 24 times isn't something I'm keen to do.

My pending is at 3 months now.
