I Cant seem to get my stories published. They stay PENDING for the longest time, up to two weeks! I have deleted and resubmitted but the same thing happens - it just stays pending. Anyone else having these issues?

Publishing timelines are a bit hit and miss at the moment.
The site advice is to wait at least 30 days and then to send a private message to Laurel.
She may not respond but hopefully your story will get a publishing date after that.
If you pull and resubmit, you have, in effect, restarted the clock as they go to the back of the queue again.
Patience is a virtue that Literotica tests but patient you must be.

Pending issues (site owners say there is no bug) have been recorded as early as 2003 (search the tech support forum or even this forum since bug reports get dumped in the ah - if you don't believe me), so you're looking at ~ 23 years (documented by members who have no reason to lie) without a fix. 📝

YMMV

I could be wrong, but I think the more you write the quicker you get published. I wrote a barrage of stories when I first started writing. Many made the HOF before the 1* bombers found me. My turn around time is now a few, days. I think when you gain some notice it goes quicker.

That being said it’s hard to know. I’m an exceptional case because of my followers. I am probably a known author to Laurel.

The good news is that the more you publish, the better things get.
I've had stories stuck in Pending Purgatory while other submissions were approved in normal time, so I don't think that's as big of a factor as some think.

Patience, yes.

Also remember that when you submit a story, consider whether there are any contests currently running or prepared to launch. Stories for contests, such as the current Halloween Contest get priority and all others go to the back of the queue.

It's not a 100% correlation. I had a slow approval in August (23 days), but the next worst was 1/3rd of that, the others in Aug & Sept were only one or two days.

Actually, my holiday contest entry last year was one that got stuck. I pulled it after the contest, so it's waiting for another attempt next month.

Every time you pull a story, you start again. Two weeks for a new author isn't unusual, so you have to be patient. See the sticky up above, and multiple threads on the issue.

I don't think 'new author' is actually the problem. I began less than a year ago and all my stories passed through within a couple of days. I get the impression this is standard. The problem is that some stories - not authors - are falling through the cracks. An established author who's never had problems before now has a 30-day lag on their chapter 35. It doesn't appear to be because they've suddenly hinted at forbidden things, or rung some other bell, but some bug has randomly switched them from standard two-day approval to indefinite purgatory.

If this happened to me, I think I'd be tempted to delete and resubmit, rather than wait patiently. It looks like a random curse on a particular posting, so resubmitting would give it a good chance of getting the usual approval within a couple of days. In what I've read here, I haven't seen anything that's strong evidence against this.

And I'm sorry to be adding to the endless debate on this.

True. This happened to a couple of mine last year.

Wrong approach. I simply send a polite DM to Laurel asking her to look for any cracks, and my stories were both published within hours afterwards. They key is to wait the requisite fifteen days before pinging her.

It isn't just advice, it's literally the site's stated service level.

Every time you pull a story, you start again.
Beyond 30 days, you want to "start again" because for whatever reason something made you get stuck and exceed the service level.

A PM to Laurel can't hurt, but, jiggling the handle by resubmitting can break the logjam in the system. Ideally if you also write a statement in the Notes field on the (new) submission form saying what you're doing and why and how long you waited.

Agree. I was reacting to the OP's "two weeks". A common feature of these pending threads is that folk report pulling and resubmitting every week or two, which isn't a long delay, it's a shorter delay, repeated.

Agree this too, but how many times do we have to say, go read the FAQs? It appears people don't know how to do that. So all we can do is repeat the same advice every time - and get the haha emoji again from the little puppy dog who follows me around 🐕.

I’ve got to say I’m an experienced author and there is tons I still don’t know about the site. Mostly around navigation. I’ve posted 91 stories, and still learn things. I only learned about the FAQs a few years ago.

I still haven’t figured out chat. And I only learned about editing an already published story today and still not sure what happens when they repost it. Hell I didn’t know about followers till a fan told me i’d broken 3000

So I go easy on the people with questions.

Is there a FAQ that says this? I wrote a couple days ago that we could really use a sticky for the "what to do after 30 days" instructions, since Literotica doesn't say what to do. All they wrote was what not to do before 30 days, while they simultaneously say there is no bug and also silently tolerate the post-30-day workaround .

There is an entry for that in the FAQ. However, it seems to be a bit outdated and a week long wait is the baseline used in it. It also redirects people here for current information.

Why is my story be taking longer than usual to be published?

(The bad grammar is C&P, not my mistake.)

Side note, has anybody seen the "Not Ever Approved" status? If so, any idea how old that makes the page?

If you scroll to the bottom of the page you hyperlink you will see this version number
Version 1.108.1+b71b42855.3d9dc04

If you go to the landing page and scroll to the bottom you will see this version number
Version Site 2026.1 (2.0.1+d6115dc50.b7e2897)

If you don't understand how version numbers work, I suggest you Google it. I won't tell you how many decades old that page is...

That doesn't say anything about what to do if it has been beyond the promised 30 days, which is what we were talking about.

It just says the same "make sure you didn't do something wrong" stuff that's repeated in the more recent announcement on the subject - in addition to establishing 30 days as the service level and promising that there is no bug which would ever make the process take longer than that.

You should probably take your own advice.

Of course you won't, because you can't. That information simply isn't discernible from those version numbers.

Seriously, the difference between version 1.108 and 2.0 could realistically be but a single update.

No, but it does answer the question that was asked. That answer is "No," by the way.

Yeah...its just that all of my previous stories were published within a few days. I've got more than 20 stories that were published quick. This is the first time its stuck like this. BTW how do we send a message to Laurel?

The envelope icon at the upper right, next to your username. Start a new conversation. Laurel has the (lit) avatar familiar from many of the pinned threads here.

How do we Message Laurel? From where?

How do we Message Laurel? From where?
Top right of this page, click on the envelope, and start a new Conversation, addressed to Laurel.

Give her the story details, be polite, and it should move. Or get formally rejected, in which case you'll get a message on your Control Panel, and the story will reappear in Drafts.
