Perfect Timing (Closed for NewGame8)

"You see, that is what a veteran cruiser does; she thinks ahead. I didn't even think about transportation to the airport until you just said it. Before I came on the cruise, I had no idea what I needed to do. While on the cruise, my mind was on you from the time we met. So, I would like to accept your gracious offer."
Pam smiled from ear to ear when Steven accepted her offer, she felt a tear escape her eye but wiped it away before Steven noticed. They walked off the ship together, both of them quiet unsure if that was a bad thing or a good thing. While waiting for the car service they made small talk, once the driver arrived he loaded all the bags into the trunk and Steven slid into the back seat.

On the way to the airport Steven took her hand and held it tightly, Pam laid her head on his shoulder. She could sense his sadness and was pretty sure he could sense hers, one thing she admired about him was that he wasn’t shy about showing emotion towards her.

Once they arrived at the airport she thanked the driver for the 5 star service and assured that she’d definitely use the company for all future trips. Her and Steven were delighted to find out they were on the same flight together but that quickly turned to disappointment that they would not be able to sit together due to being overbooked.

Steven stood at the gate as he was in the group before hers, he looked down in her eyes and kissed her softly followed by a big hug, telling he he’d see her when they landed. Pam watched him walk slowly down the ramp towards the plane. When it was time for her to board, she also walked slowly down the ramp to board the plane, when she arrived at her seat she was happy to discover she had a window seat. Putting her carry on in the bin above and then placing her book and air pods on the tray in case she had an unbearable person next to her.

When it came time to take off, the seat next to her was still unoccupied which surprised her. At least she didn’t have to put up with an obnoxious stranger which would be her luck, how she wished Steven was beside her. Looking out the window thoughts of what was ahead of them flashed through her mind, there was nothing she wanted more than for them to continue seeing each other when they arrived home.

As Steven boarded the plane, he realized that he was sitting in Business Class. He normally traveled in First Class or Business Class, especially when working but on his flight down he hadn't been able to get into either because he had booked the flight so late. Being in Business Class on the way home was a surprise to him.

As the flight took off, Steven looked out the window thinking about the week that was. It had been incredible. Not only was his first cruise an amazing experience, but his time with Pamela had been absolutely incredible. She was an amazing woman... smart, witty, beautiful, sexy. In his mind she was the complete package.

About 40 minutes into the flight Steven had to use the restroom. Instead of using the one in the front of the plane, he decided to use the one in the back so that he could check on Pamela. As he moved down the aisle, he saw her sitting in a window seat with an empty seat next to her. He made eye contact with her. "I guess they lied to us when they said the flight was oversold."

On his way back from the bathroom, Steven whispered something into the ear of the guy who had the aisle seat. The man nodded and stood up. Steven spoke to the man for a second and then sat down in his seat. The man moved up toward the front of the plane.

Steven looked over at Pamela who had a confused look on her face. "I asked him if he would mind switching seats with me. I told him that I wanted to make a move on the beautiful women in the window seat and if I was able to sit here it would give me much more time to make my move. He was hesitant at first, until he found out my seat was in Business Class and he would be getting a nice meal."

They spent the remainder of the flight talking with one another. It was the perfect way for them to end the trip for both of them. When the plane landed, they walked off together after Steven got his bag from the front of the plane. They stood holding hands at the baggage carousel as they awaited their luggage. Once they had it, they walked out together. They each had cars waiting to take them home. Steven looked at his phone to make sure he had Pamela's number in it and then walked her to her car. He hugged her, kissed her, and held her tight for a moment.

Looking into her eyes, Steven said one final goodbye. "Well, I really don't mean goodbye. I should say, see you soon." He gave her one last kiss and then watched as she climbed into the car. After her car pulled away, he walked over to the car waiting for him. The driver took his bag and Steven climbed into the back. The entire time going home Steven thought about when he would see Pamela again.

As Pam stared out the window with only one air pod in listening to some music, purposely leaving the other one in case any announcements on the way home or the flight attendants needed to check in with her. Thoughts of the past week danced through her head, some of them made her smile, some of them made her blush, all of them doing both.

She was so buried in her thoughts that she didn’t even realize that the gentleman sitting in the seat had gotten up, something caught her eye as she stretched. She couldn’t believe her eyes, Steven was now sitting in the aisle seat smiling at her. He spoke of how he offered his seat in business class to him because he wanted to make a move on the beautiful woman in the window seat. Partially standing up, she pretended to look around and say to him, “Wherever this beautiful woman is, she’s certainly a lucky lady.”

Pam sat back down and gave Steven a wink and a kiss, letting him know she knew he was talking about her being the beautiful woman he wanted to sit with. As they spent the remainder of the flight, they talked, they kissed every so often and just enjoyed each other’s company as always. Once they landed and walked hand in hand back into the airport to wait for the luggage and walked out to their awaiting cars, they held each other tight.

“Yes, I will see you soon.” Neither of them wanted to move and just lingered in the hug and some kisses. After a few minutes they each got in their cars, Pam looked out the window and wondered and looked forward to seeing Steven again. A few minutes later her phone dinged and it was Steven telling her he couldn’t wait to see her again, smiling she replied “ I can’t wait to see you again too.”

One year later

It was nearly a year later since Pam and Steven had met on their cruise, they had continued to get to know each other, they both took their time as they both were healing. The chemistry between them was off the charts, they had great communication and they enjoyed each other’s company immensely, whether they were out on the town or spending a night doing whatever their hearts desired.

Lately Steven had been acting secretive and a little off, she chalked it up to some stressful cases. A week later he took her out for dinner for her birthday to his favorite restaurant, she had always wanted to try this place and was happy that he chose it. Once seated he ordered champagne and made a wonderful toast to her. He then took out an envelope and handed her the itinerary for their first cruise together, he had consulted with her sister for help, that’s why he had been so secretive lately as he knew her birthday was coming up and wanted the surprise to be…Perfect Timing.
