"You see, that is what a veteran cruiser does; she thinks ahead. I didn't even think about transportation to the airport until you just said it. Before I came on the cruise, I had no idea what I needed to do. While on the cruise, my mind was on you from the time we met. So, I would like to accept your gracious offer."
Pam smiled from ear to ear when Steven accepted her offer, she felt a tear escape her eye but wiped it away before Steven noticed. They walked off the ship together, both of them quiet unsure if that was a bad thing or a good thing. While waiting for the car service they made small talk, once the driver arrived he loaded all the bags into the trunk and Steven slid into the back seat.
On the way to the airport Steven took her hand and held it tightly, Pam laid her head on his shoulder. She could sense his sadness and was pretty sure he could sense hers, one thing she admired about him was that he wasn’t shy about showing emotion towards her.
Once they arrived at the airport she thanked the driver for the 5 star service and assured that she’d definitely use the company for all future trips. Her and Steven were delighted to find out they were on the same flight together but that quickly turned to disappointment that they would not be able to sit together due to being overbooked.
Steven stood at the gate as he was in the group before hers, he looked down in her eyes and kissed her softly followed by a big hug, telling he he’d see her when they landed. Pam watched him walk slowly down the ramp towards the plane. When it was time for her to board, she also walked slowly down the ramp to board the plane, when she arrived at her seat she was happy to discover she had a window seat. Putting her carry on in the bin above and then placing her book and air pods on the tray in case she had an unbearable person next to her.
When it came time to take off, the seat next to her was still unoccupied which surprised her. At least she didn’t have to put up with an obnoxious stranger which would be her luck, how she wished Steven was beside her. Looking out the window thoughts of what was ahead of them flashed through her mind, there was nothing she wanted more than for them to continue seeing each other when they arrived home.
