Perfect Timing (Closed for NewGame8)

Pam enjoyed just taking their time to walk through the museum and gallery, taking in all the culture, history and art of the island. She watched the different expressions on Steven’s face as she explained and spoke of the artifacts and history of the island. He seemed fascinated with everything she showed him.

They sat and enjoyed their lunch with an incredible view, talking quietly amongst themselves. Steven was quick to grab the check and would not take no for an answer, she smiled and thanked him. “Thank you, Steven, not only did I have delicious food with e beautiful view, the company and conversation was the cherry on top. I hope you’re enjoying our day. Hmmm, how about we save room for drinks with dinner this evening? I’d never dream of getting you drunk. So tell me, are you a big drinker?

Pam once again took Steven’s arm as they strolled through the boutique lined streets of Celebration Key, making small talk until she spotted a gold ankle bracelet with tiny dolphins, she had always wanted one but had never really found one she liked enough. She just stood and stared for what seemed like an eternity.

"That was a great place to have lunch Pamela. The view, the ocean breeze, the food and the company were just perfect. I must admit, I am really happy that I agreed to let me show you around the island."

As they walked through the streets, Steven enjoyed having Pamela on his arm... what man wouldn't want to have such an attractive woman on his arm as they walked around town? He was a little surprised when Pamela asked him if he was a big drinker. "A big drinker? No, I am not a big drinker. I drink socially. I never drink at home unless I am having guests, and then usually I only have one or two. If I go out with colleagues, I will have a drink or two. Occasionally, I will have more than a couple with friends. Usually, I do not have more than two or three drinks in a normal week."

Walking slowly through the streets, Steven did a lot of people watching as Pamela did a lot of "window shopping." It wasn't true window shopping since all the shops were open-air, but Pamela just seemed to be looking with no real interest in buying. That was until she stopped dead. Steven watched as Pamela was staring at something. It was almost like she was mesmerized by it. He saw that she was looking at an ankle bracelet.

While shoe was looking at the gold ankle bracelet, Steven excused himself. He moved around to the side and went into the back of the little shop and spoke to the woman working there. He told her what he wanted. He stayed in the back of the shop while the woman went and got the gold ankle bracelet with the dolphins and walked back to him. Steven put the box in his pocket.

Sneaking out of the shop, Steven rejoined Pamela. He could see a look of disappointment on her face. "Is everything okay Pamela?" Steven moved next to her and placed his hand on the small of her back.

“It’s my favorite place to eat whenever I’m back in Celebration Key, not only is the food delicious, the service is 5 star and you can’t beat the view. I must say that I enjoyed sharing this place with you, my sister doesn’t appreciate the beauty of this spot as much as you’ve shown today. I’m glad you changed your mind too, I’m having a wonderful time with you.”

They chatted quietly as they strolled through town. “Honestly, I’m the same way when I go out, 1 or 2 at the most. I don’t drink much at home either, as I’m on call often. I will sometimes have a glass of wine or a cold beer if I’m not due in. However, when I’m on vacation I will have a couple of the delicious cocktails, not enough to get me drunk or anything like that.”

Pam really wanted that anklet and she had every intention on buying it, but before she could slip into the shop, the salesgirl took it out of the window. She hadn’t even noticed that Steven had moved, perhaps he had gone to use the restroom. “Yes, I’m okay. I’m sure you noticed my eyes fixated on the anklet in the window, I was ready to step into the shop and buy it, but the salesgirl took it out of the window, I’m guessing someone bought it. I’ve been looking for a dolphin anklet for years, I’ve just never found the perfect one.” Pam smiled softly at Steven as they continued on, it had been an amazing day and she was sure that the sunset dinner cruise was going to be a wonderful end to their day.

Now that he had the ankle bracelet, Steven had to figure out when would be a good time to give it to Pamela. He wanted to give it to her as a gift for being so helpful and for ensuring that he got out of his cabin and did something on this cruise.

They walked around the town, chatting idly as they went. Steven continued to people watch as they went. He took notice of the interactions between the tourists and the shopkeepers. It was interesting to watch the haggling going on between them. Then he thought about how he had just paid full price for the ankle bracelet. "Such a Rookie," he said to himself.

He was amazed at how fast the day went as he spent time with Pamela. It was just so easy and relaxed... dare he say fun. Fun was something Steven hadn't had in a long time. Now, it was time for them to go on the dinner cruise. Steven decided that was where he would give her the ankle bracelet. That way he could see her wear it at some point on the cruise.

Pam enjoyed walking through the town with Steven, enjoying people watching and chatting every now and then, but most importantly they were enjoying each other’s company. It had been a long time since she allowed herself to completely relax and enjoy herself in the company of a man and there was something about him that put her anxieties to rest and feel comfortable around him.

"Such a Rookie,"

Im sorry, did you say something? I kind of got lost in thought and enjoying your company I didn’t hear.” Pam looked at her phone and it was just after 5, thankfully they were about a 5 minute walk from where they needed to be to get on the yacht for the dinner cruise. She took out a compact mirror and checked herself, as they usually had a photographer come around and take a souvenir photo with the sunset in the background. “Well, it’s about that time, shall we go?”

Pam smiled at Steven as they walked towards the dock to board the yacht for dinner. He placed his hand on the small of her back and for the first time in a very long time, there was a spark. “Looks like a beautiful night for a sunset cruise.” After being shown to their table, Steven pulled out her chair for her, she smiled and thanked him. She had booked a table on the top deck of the yacht, which would give them a stunning view, surprisingly there was only one other occupied table, it appeared to be an elderly couple celebrating a birthday.

"Oh, it was nothing. I was just thinking that I was fortunate that I looked lost on the ship and you approached me or I would have spent the entire cruise on the ship and would never have had the opportunity to explore the island."

Steven allowed Pamela to guide him toward the yacht for the sunset cruise. "You are the tour guide, ma'am, so, yes, we should go." Once on the yacht, Steven followed Pamela as they were shown to their table. He couldn't help to notice all of the heads that turned to watch Pamela as she walked by; that included guests as well as staff of the yacht.

Once at their table, Steven waited for Pamela to take her seat. After sliding in her chair, Steven sat next to her. "Well, this certainly is a great table. I am certain that the view of the sunset from here will be spectacular. I am not sure how these things work, but if you chose this table, you certainly did an outstanding job." He was surprised at how few people were on the upper deck. Steven wondered if it was because people were concerned that it would be chilly up top. Then, he wondered, how could it be chilly, they were in the Caribbean?

Shortly after they were seated, a waitress approached them and asked them if they would like something to drink. Steven smiled at the waitress, and said to her, "I may be showing my inexperience here, but would it be possible to get a bottle of champagne?"

"Oh, it was nothing. I was just thinking that I was fortunate that I looked lost on the ship and you approached me or I would have spent the entire cruise on the ship and would never have had the opportunity to explore the island."

Well, you know what they say, everyone comes into your life for a reason, so maybe I was meant to cross your path to prevent you from spending the week in your cabin, missing out on all the beautiful scenery, the ocean air, good company.” Pam smiled softly at Steven, the thought of him spending the cruise saddened her, especially being his first one.

As they boarded the yacht, Pam could feel all eyes on her, usually she didn’t notice such things, but this was different. “Steven, this just happens to be the best view on the yacht, it’s nothing short of spectacular. Oh by the way, a photographer will be coming around right around 7 to take a photo, we just stand by the railing with the sunset in the background, it’s silly but a nice souvenir of your trip.”

When the waitress came to their table for a drink order, Pam was impressed with Steven’s choice of beverage. The waitress smiled at them and nodded, she came back with an ice bucket and surprisingly her favorite champagne.

Steven was surprised to hear that there would be a photographer going around taking pictures. He was not one to enjoy having his picture taken. Initially, he thought about telling Pamela that he really didn't want his picture taken, but decided against it. He thought it would be better to just suck it up and let his picture be taken. He did not want to disappoint Pamela after all that she had been doing to help make his cruise a positive experience.

The waitress brought the champagne to the table. She opened the bottle and poured some into each of their glasses. Steven tanked her and watched as she placed the bottle into the ice bucket. When the waitress left, he turned to Pamela. He raised his glass to her. "A toast to you Pamela. You alone have helped to make the start of this cruise a wonderful experience for me. Without you, it would be so boring."

After they each sipped their champagne, Steven took the box out of his pocket that contained the ankle bracelet with the dolphins. He sat the box on the table in front of Pamela. "This is just a little token of my appreciation for all of your help Pamela."

Pamela felt as if Steven looked uncomfortable about having a photo done when she had mentioned it. She reached out and grabbed his hand, which was out of her character. “It’s okay if you’re not a fan of having your picture taken, honestly I’m not either, I just like having the memory keepsake with the beautiful horizon in the background. If you’re not up for it, I totally understand.”

When the waitress returned with the bottle of champagne she sat quietly with a smile on her face, she glanced over at Steven and he smiled softly at her. Taking her glass and raising it to his, “Its my pleasure to help you, I’m having a wonderful time showing you around and spending time with you. I hope you’re ready for a relaxing beach day tomorrow, we will be in Nassau and the have some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever laid eyes on.”

While sipping their champagne and talking about their beach day for tomorrow, Steven placed a small box on the table in front of Pam, she looked at him and smiled. “What’s this?” She untied the ribbon and lifted the lid off the box, she couldn’t believe her eyes, she put her hands up to her face and could feel tears welling up. “How did you know?” She was absolutely speechless and could not wipe the big smile off her face.

Steven realized that he had made a good decision buying the ankle bracelet as a gift for Pamela. It was a token of his appreciation for Pamela going above and beyond to help him, and it was still only the first full day of the cruise.

"I saw you looking at it as we walked past the shop. It seemed that you wanted it, but you just couldn't make the commitment to buying it. I decided that since you have been such a big help for me that I would buy it and surprise you with it. I hope that that is okay. I just wanted to show you how much I really appreciate all of your help, so far."

Realizing that Pamela was happy with the gift (the tears and the big smile gave it away) Steven sat back and lifted his champagne glass again. "To my attractive and very helpful tour guide. You have made the start of the cruise amazing, and I am sure the remainder will be even better."

Pam was absolutely touched by Steven’s gift to her, it was by far one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for her. She couldn’t stop looking at it and smiling. Thinking about it for a moment, she hadn’t smiled this much in the last day in a very long time and they still had 4 days to go, it was a nice change for her.

“Steven, I can’t thank you enough, I’d give you a big hug if you’d let me, this is the nicest gift I’ve ever been given. It is more than okay, I’m quite touched by this, dolphins hold a big spot in my heart. I can’t tell you how much of a wonderful time I’m having helping you out.” Pam smiled at him and clinked her glass with his. “To my attractive and no longer a cruise newbie. I’m looking forward to our adventures and have a feeling our remaining days will be a wonderful time.”

"Pamela, it is my pleasure. It was the least I could do. I saw you looking at it, and I knew that I wanted to get you something to show you my appreciation. So, instead of just getting you something random that I wasn't sure you would like, I thought I would get something that you had definitely shown an interest in."

They clinked glasses and he took a sip of the champagne. "I have to tell you Pamela, I wasn't sure about this cruise. I decided to do it since it was something far outside of my norm, but I am really glad I did it. I think it is going to be a great experience."

After taking another sip of his champagne, Steven smiled at the look on Pamela's face. "No, I am not a newbie anymore, and I am definitely looking forward to the rest of this cruise; especially since I am going to be spending a lot of the time with the most beautiful and sexy tour guide anyone could ever imagine."

He looked down after he said that. Yes, he believed that Pamela was sexy, but he wasn't sure that it was the right thing to say in the moment. Telling her she was beautiful was one thing, but saying she was sexy could make her think that he was looking for something more when he gave her the gift.

“Well that shows me how much attention you pay to details, you picked up at what I was drawn to instead of just picking up something random that you saw. I find that quality quite attractive in a person, however I always have lived by, *it’s the thought that counts* too. This is such a beautiful, thoughtful gift and I love it.”

Pam listened to Steven talk about almost deciding against the cruise, but second guessing himself and thought better to do it. She wanted to know more about him, but thought tonight would not be the right time, she was sure he was thinking the same about her. “I’m glad that you decided to take a chance on the cruise, and I can relate to doing things outside of your norm. It’s been wonderful so far and I think it’s just going to get better.

She smiled when he spoke of spending a lot of time with his beautiful, sexy tour guide, but it wasn’t one of her genuine, lights up her face usual smiles. He also looked like he felt he had said something wrong, him looking down gave her that feeling. After what seemed like an eternity, but only a few moments, the waitress bought over their first course, which was mixed greens with a citrus vinaigrette dressing.

As the first course arrived, Steven looked up and smiled at Pamela. "I am happy that you convinced me to come on this sunset cruise Pamela. I never would have considered it without your recommendation."

Picking up his fork, Steven waited until Pamela began eating the mixed greens before starting to eat himself. He was starting to realize that Pamela might be able to read his body language and his expressions, so, Steven made a conscious note to himself to be careful about how he reacted to not just things Pamela said and did, but to his own internal thoughts.

They made small talk as they ate the mixed greens. Steven commented on how much he enjoyed the vinaigrette, which was a surprise to him, because normally he would have a heavier dressing on his salad. "I like this. It is light and it is very tasty. The citrus really adds a nice touch."

As they finished the mixed greens, Steven reached for the champagne bottle and filled Pamela's glass. Then he filled his own. Smiling at her, "I must tell you Pamela, you are so enjoyable to be with. You are easy to talk to and you are such a positive person that has a constant smile on your face, and that smile is incredible; it just radiates positive feelings, which makes me want to spend more time with you."

Pam looked up at Steven as the waitress placed their salads on the table. “I’m really happy you are here with me, in my opinion it’s a “must do”, the food is delicious and the scenery is stunningly beautiful. I don’t see sunsets like we will be seeing tonight at home.” She took a bite of salad and watched Steven wait until she had started eating.

“You’re absolutely right, this is delicious. Normally, depending on my mood I usually go for a Ranch or Caesar dressing for my salad, but this is *Chefs Kiss*. Pam glanced across the table, she was intrigued by him, not only was he easy to talk to, laid back, intelligent and just made her very comfortable, he was incredibly attractive.

Pam couldn’t get over how amazing Steven was in the short time that they’ve known each other. Could he possibly be picking up her energy and thoughts that she felt the same? She could feel her bright smile lighting up her face at his words. “Thank you, I was actually thinking the same about you. You’re so laid back and easy to talk to, and may I say that in the short time we’ve known each other, this is the most I’ve smiled in a long time. I just find being in your presence is very comforting and want to spend more time with you too.” They smiled at each other as the waitress brought over the soup which was a choice of Crab Bisque or Italian Wedding soup.

Steven chose the crab bisque when the waitress approached about his choice of soup. He had a feeling that the soup would be incredible. He was certain that the ingredients, especially the crab, would be fresh.

"I am glad you find me easy to talk to Pamela. I don't usually get that. Of course, most of my conversations are at work and they are rarely good natured. I tend to be rather forceful n my conversations at work and people have often told me that they find me intimidating. So, to hear you say that you think I am easy to talk to makes me happy."

"I have to tell you that I am looking forward to spending more time with you. I am happy to hear you say that you want to spend more time with me. I must tell you that the fact that someone so beautiful wanting to spend time with me makes me feel really good."

The crab bisque was delicious, creamy, well seasoned and the crab was fresh. She watched Steven practically inhale it. “It’s delicious isn’t it? I could eat this as a meal alone.” Pam smiled at Steven’s enthusiasm, like he had never tasted food this good. “I love to make soups in the cooler weather and I make a crab bisque almost identical to this.”

“I really do Steven, there just something about you that I feel completely relaxed with and that’s not often I feel like that when I meet new people. Most of my conversations are with my employees, and for the most part they go either way. By the way you don’t seem intimidating to me, you come off as the complete opposite, you have very kind eyes.”

It made Pam happy to hear that Steven was looking forward to spending more time with her, she wanted to know more about him and enjoy every moment of their time together.” Do you like the beach? We dock in Nassau tomorrow and I’ve arranged for a picnic basket to be delivered to the resort to take to the beach tomorrow.” Pam could feel herself blush and another smile when Steven called her beautiful and the fact that she wanted to spend more time with him made him feel good.

It was an incredibly relaxing sunset dinner cruise. For the first time, Steven felt himself truly relaxing. It was a combination of a few things... becoming more familiar with cruise routines, a casual dinner experience on a smaller boat, good food, and great company. Pamela was definitely making the cruise more enjoyable than he had ever imagined it would be. In addition to that, she was very, very easy on the eyes.

"I do enjoy the beach, unless it is too crowded. I am not a fan of people right up next to me at the beach, but I certainly do enjoy the sand and the surf. That is why when I do go to the beach in the summer I usually go during the week. Sometimes I will just take a day or two off and head to the beach. It is so relaxing. However, the weekends in the summer are really crazy. On a summer weekend if I am at the beach, I will go early in the morning and leave when it gets crowded, and then I will go back late in the afternoon after people have left for the day."

He took a sip of his champagne. "I guess that was a long winded way of saying that, if you are inviting me to accompany you to the beach, that, yes, I would love to join you." As he smiled at Pamela, he started to think about her in a bikini on the beach. It was a wonderful thought. Steven quickly brushed the thought from his head. He wanted to stay in the now with his conversation with Pamela.

After finishing dinner, Pam and Steven talked quietly and sipped their champagne, the sun was beginning to set and the photographer started having people come over one table at a time. The view of the sun setting on the horizon was absolutely spectacular. When they called their table for a photo, Pam looked at Steven and offered her hand and smiled. “Would you like to join me for the photo? I know you don’t care for pictures and I completely understand if you want to sit this out.”

“Well, you’re in luck then. They have 2 areas of the beach, a party side and a quiet side. Most of the passengers tend to gravitate towards the party side. I, however stay on the quiet side. They have hammocks, lounge chairs and a bar that has the best mixed drinks I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t like crowds either, trust me you won’t be disappointed.”

Pam laughed when Steven said if that was her long winded attempt to invite him to the beach, he’d love to join her. “Perfect, the weather is going to be beautiful and hot.” She was looking forward to spending the day soaking up the sun, frolicking in the waves and enjoying each other’s company.

Feeling that it was a good idea to join Pamela for the picture since she had definitely gone out of her way for him so far on the cruise, Steven took Pamela's hand and stood up. They walked together hand in hand to the location for the picture. As they walked, Pamela told him about the two different beaches. "Well, I look forward to spending time on the beach on the quiet side with you."

As they had their picture taken, Steven put his arm around Pamela's waist. It just felt like the right thing to do for the picture. As they stood there, he hoped she did not take his arm around her waist as him doing anything inappropriate. He was tempted to quickly remove his arm, but he knew that Pamela would read something into it, so, he stayed right where he was.

After the picture was taken, they walked back to their table. Steven felt very relaxed around Pamela and he was definitely appreciative of how she had made the cruise enjoyable so far. Because of Pamela, he was really looking forward to the remainder of the cruise, and of course, spending time with such a beautiful woman.

Pam was beyond excited that Steven reached for her hand and joined her for the sunset photo, she was shocked but definitely not disappointed when he locked his fingers with hers as they walked hand in hand over to the photographer. She felt as if her smile were glued to her face, making her cheeks hurt. When the photographer was setting up to take the photo, she felt Steven’s arm slip around her waist, it caused a jolt of electricity go through her body. Leaning into him she slipped her arm around his waist and smiled her winning smile.

“I look forward to spending a relaxing day at the quiet beach with you too, it will be an amazing day with beautiful weather, good food and wonderful company.” As they walked back to the table, she could hear the dj playing Under The Boardwalk by The Drifters, once again Steven pulled out her chair for her. As they were sitting and talking quietly the waitress stopped by and took a drink order for them, the slight buzz she had gotten from the champagne had long worn off with dinner.

After ordering a margarita on the rocks there was a quiet moment between them, did he feel the spark that she had felt earlier. It made her feel good that Steven was enjoying himself because of her, she had always had fun on her cruises but this time it was in a completely different way. Pam was excited for spending the remainder of the cruise getting to know and enjoy the company of this handsome man.

They sat back at the table and chatted through the rest of the meal. When Pam ordered a margarita on the rocks, Steven asked for one himself. "That sounds great. May I have one, also, please?" He wasn't a big drinker, but he figured one more drink on the cruise wouldn't hurt.

It was a really enjoyable evening for Steven. He was relaxed. He was in the company of a beautiful and sexy woman, and the atmosphere on the sunset dinner cruise was perfect. There was something about Pamela that had him looking forward to spending a lot of time with her on the rest of the cruise. It was more than her looks. It was her body language. It was her demeanor. It was her smile. It was everything about her.

When their margaritas arrived, they clinked glasses. "To an incredible evening." He took a sip of his drink and smiled at Pamela. As she took a drink, his eyes wandered over her. Yes, in his mind, she was the complete package.

Pam smiled when Steven ordered a margarita with her, she hated the thought of drinking alone. She was a social drinker and if she went out with friends 1-2 drinks at the most and lately it was rare with her hectic schedule.

She couldn’t believe how much fun she was having, sure she had fun with her sister but this was different. It had been a long time since she had felt at ease and enjoyed a man’s company, there was just something about Steven she was drawn to. He was intelligent, good sense of humor, down to earth, kind, unlike any man she had ever known, she also found him to be incredibly handsome.
When their margaritas arrived, they clinked glasses. "To an incredible evening." He took a sip of his drink and smiled at Pamela. As she took a drink, his eyes wandered over her. Yes, in his mind, she was the complete package.

To an incredible evening. Steven, would it be wrong of me to say I don’t want this night to end? This has been such an amazing day and everything has been perfect. I’m so looking forward to spending the day in the sun tomorrow.” Pam smiled as she took a drink of her margarita, the announcement came over that they were heading back to the port to get back on the ship.

"No Pamela, it would not be wrong of you to say that you don't want this night to end. I am feeling the exact same way. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with you, and am extremely happy that you convinced me to accompany you. You have been an amazing tour guide, and an even better accomplice on our island tour and sunset cruise."

Pamela's mention of spending time in the sun tomorrow, had an image of her in a bikini once again running through his head, and it was definitely a wonderful image. When the announcement came over that they were heading back to port, Steven said to Pamela, "I imagine that tomorrow will be a wonderful time together for us again Pamela. I, too, am looking forward to spending time in the sun. All of my time recently has been poured into work. It is time for me to get some color on my pale skin. Not too much though. I don't need to look like a lobster for the rest of the cruise.

Once back at the port, they walked off the boat together, hand-in-hand. It just seemed that their hands came together naturally, Steven did not feel any awkwardness about it. They stayed that way as they walked back to the ship. Once they were on the deck where both of their rooms were, and about to part ways for the night, Steven turned to Pamela. "Good night Pamela. Thank you for a wonderful day. I haven't enjoyed myself that much in a very long time, and it is all because of you. I really enjoyed being with you, and I hate that it is ending, but I have the fact that we will be together tomorrow to look forward to."

As they stood there, an announcement was made that they were getting ready to set sail for Nassau. Steven leaned in and kissed Pamela's cheek. Truth be told, he wanted to kiss her lips, but he thought that might be pushing his luck. After the kiss on her cheek, he looked into her mesmerizing hazel eyes. "Thank you so much Pamela. You have no idea how good this was for me." Steven released Pamela's hand so she could head to her cabin.

“I’m glad you feel the same. Today was a perfect day, when my sister had to back out, I was honestly dreading doing this alone. I mean I have but, it’s not as fun without someone to join you.”I’m glad I was able to convince you to join me also, I feel incredibly lucky that we crossed paths and I’ve enjoyed our time so far, immensely.”

Pam smiled at Steven when he mentioned needing some sun. “Well that makes 2 of us, I mean I have a little color, but could use a little more.” Tomorrow will be a great day, I have no doubt about it.” She was looking forward to a nice relaxing day on the beach, some swimming in the crystal blue waters, and most of all, getting to know more about Steven. “I’ll tell you what, we will keep an eye on each other and make sure we reapply so we don’t end up looking like lobsters.”

After returning to the port and walking off the yacht, Pam noticed they were holding hands again, it just felt so right. Walking hand in hand to the elevators in comfortable silence, they stepped in and pressed the button for their floor. Once the doors opened, they walked the hall till they arrived at Steven’s cabin. “Good night, Steven. You’re very welcome, I had a wonderful time too and looking forward to our beach day tomorrow. Shall we meet at the cafe, say about 8:00-8:30?

As the captain made the announcement they were setting sail for Nassau, Steven leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. He had warm soft lips, Pam could feel her body breaking out in goosebumps, it was something she hadn’t felt in a long time. She leaned forward, stood on her toes and placed a kiss on his cheek in return. “Good night, Steven, until tomorrow.” She smiled at him as she walked a few doors down to her cabin.
