Personal Pride or Latent Insecurity?

James Earl Jones: *pwaft* The power of this station is insignificant compared to the power of the Force.

I'm starting to think I should use proper english in all my posts after reading this....

As i'm an icq generation kid I have a tendency to use shorter words with letters left out...as long at the meaning gets across it's all good!

Mebbe I shud fink agin....:)

Judging a book by it's cover?

It may be self esteem, personal pride or just a fine mind for detail that makes us wish to present in the best way but I think there is another reason and an interesting side aspect to this.

Although the saying states "not to judge a book by it's cover" we do. It's that simple really. Therefore logic tells us in order to be more successful in making our point or to get our story read we must publish it in the best way possible.

However, true judgement is what follows the first impression, it is a question then of depth of perception.

We may happen to find a book cover attractive (often the case with erotic fiction oddly enough <g>) but in order for us to complete reading the book it must have lasting appeal on the inside.

My question; Despite the advice, in general do we put too much emphasis on appearance?
