Personals Website Problem

I signed up for a website where you post a profile to meet people, and i've gotten several responses, but because I don't have the premium membership, I can't respond to the messages I've recieved. Is anyone familiar with this problem, and does anyone know a way around it (without signing up to pay that is)?

Thanks,

John.

some of those have a temporary full access account where you can sign up for a single month or something - then cancel without having on-going fees.

Just don't try that with sites in the FriendFinder network - there have been tons of complaints about the owners committing credit card fraud, putting on unauthorized charges and charging more instead of refunding when someone cancels.

H4L, that's how they hook you, and with the bots out there, there's no way to guarantee your replies are genuine. I'd find and use one of the many 100% free personal sites if I were you.

Free Personals Websites?

Thanks for the advice. Any suggestions as to good, and free, personals websites?

It really depends on your demographic and what you're looking for.

I've had success on OKCupid.com (generally the 18-35 or so crowd), Craigslist, and BDSM-related sites as well as meeting people here on Lit. Some here have mentioned PlentyofFish.com, though I haven't done anything but look at their message boards.

Otherwise, simply google '100% free personals' and its variants (e.g. you might add Toronto, Ontario or Canada in there). When you find sites that look good, be sure to take the tour and/or look around thoroughly to make sure you can send and receive messages for free.

As a man, you'll need to take time to craft good profiles (give enough info, use good, accurate photos, proofread really well, and even have female friends take a look at them and give you honest impressions, if possible) and contact all of the ladies you're interested in in a respectful way (make sure you ask at least one good question so they have something to respond to, and always be specific so they know it's not a cut&paste reply). Most dating sites have more men than women, so if you want to be truly successful you'll have to put more time/effort into it than the average bear.

All the sites I've seen let you respond to people who email you first. It's suspicious that this one doesn't, unlesss these responses have been what they call smiles.

Also, if you've got several responses in a short period of time that's also suspicious unless you're very very good looking, or have a very large number in the Salary box, or are fucking Cyrano de Bergerac when it comes to knowing what to say to wimmins. Have a look at their prfiles. It's pretty easy to guess if they're real or fake. If you're on adult friend finder, chances are they're fake.

I got incredibly horny about a year ago and joined about a dozen dating sites. I had no money to spend on them. In my bio, I would say something like 'My nickname at yahoo is hazel.' That allowed any serious lookers a way to make contact. It worked at least part of the time.

There must be hundreds of dating sites out there. It would cost a fortune to join them all. It's logical that the ones that are totaly free should be more popular. Other friends here at Lit also (more recently) told me about

The site has alot to offer, and there is a link there to this one.

I was going to suggest Myspace and then realized 95% of the women on there are stuck up and not what I find 'attractive' in regards to their personality, LOL.

Hi,
If you're looking for a decent site that you can communicate with people for free there's Hot or Not. It sounds silly, being rated and all, but it's not that bad. You can't actually send a message for free but if the other person is a member and responds to you then you can go back and forth. You can contact all the people you want and there's no charge. If you do want to join it's only $6 a month which isn't much.

Personals website problem solution

In my experience with dating sites if you have to pay for it it's usually not worth the money. I used ok cupid. It's 100% free to post and reply. I met my boyfriend of nearly 2 years on there. www.okcupid.com
