Pet peeves

When people ask how my Valentine's Day was. Granted single people have the market on how wretched this question makes them feel, but I think my frustration with it ranks among the negative, even though I'm married, which technically means that I'm not "single". However this year on Valentine's Day my husband only yelled at me for an short period of time and he only spent a small amount of money on something for only himself, so that's an improvement from years past where prior to Valentine's Day he tells me (without any solicitation or prodding from me) that he will make a big romantic gesture - setting my hopes high, then he doesn't do anything romantic - disappointing me again, then proceeds to yell at me about something - making me feel unloved and worthless, and then he wastes a lot of money on a large purchase for himself, leaving us flat broke.

So, this year was an improvement. This is why I hate Valentine's Day. So please don't ask me how my Valentine's Day was...because it wasn't and it never has been.

Oh dear. I hope things are looking up now. How was your Feb 15th?

As a matter of fact my February 15th was special. A very sweet and sexy gentleman made me a very hot, erotic audio recording. I appreciate the treasure he has given me.

Writers who use "anxious" when they meant "eager".

anxious
[angk-shuh s, ang-]
1. full of mental distress or uneasiness because of fear of danger or misfortune; greatly worried; solicitous:
Her parents were anxious about her poor health.

eager
[ee-ger]
adjective
1. keen or ardent in desire or feeling; impatiently longing:
I am eager for news about them. He is eager to sing.

I'm currently getting disproportionately cross when someone says "Hence why [whatever it is]". Just use 'hence', or say "That's why [whatever it is]". You don't need both.

I should get out more...
