Downvoting in author-organized events is extra dumb since there isn’t even anything to win.
Some of the ratings are coincidence. My lone LW is an event story, so not surprising. Cupcake Caper is comedy and I expected it to be my worst rated story (it's actually my highest rated author event story, ironically), but it was a blast to write, so I have no qualms about that one. And my 750 being poorly rated is also predictable. But I really like my Pink Orchid story, so I hope it recovers.
This event is hurtful to the manly men of literotica, and that includes some of the ones in this forum.

None of my PO stories seem to have suffered either - they're all between 4.72 and 4.77. Both the two I submitted during the last two events, and the two that were outside the events but have the tag.
Votes come in slowly enough that I can see the change for each one. It's just a little math then.
That sucks. One or two is typical straight out the gate, but 6 from 15 is a low life, coz I don't think your writing would be diabolical. Also, 61k words - it's not as if they're reading to the end. The Valentine's Day Contest should see a bunch of sweeps towards the end, and hopefully the score will adjust.
My past experience with less 1-bombing up front is the views never even come close to recovering, at least not in the nine month kind of scale I have experience with. The bombed stories from my original series still only have little better than half the views of the unbombed ones, and that's with the support of the series pulling views up.
I've come to expect every other vote to be a 1 or 2. For my latest story which just posted last night, it's still at 2.56, barely moving upward, but it has now has 123 votes! And of the five comments, there is only ONE negative anonymously saying: "Piece of shit!"
