Vixen...
... noted that the boy was staying close to her. This was good. Saved her from having to look out for him all the time. Maybe he'd finally realised he needed her protection. Vixen took a deep breath... letting the salt air fill her lungs. Soon they'd reach the island where Blue kept a wife of sorts... as well as a palace full of wine, women and song. All that he'd hoarded over the years culminated to the oasis he had created on this island.
Vixen wasn't stupid enough to think she could steal from Blue. She'd earnt his trust and didn't intend to break that bond for money alone. No... the treasure she sought not even Blue knew about. As Dan and herself stood at the front of the ship the voices of the men could be heard all around. They were in high spirits indeed. It had been many long weeks since last they had solid ground under their feet and women in their beds.
Finally Blue himself stepped out onto the deck. He swaggered towards Vixen with a pleased smile on his face. There was no sign of Dan's wife. "Hey there... land?" Blue addressed Vixen.
Vixen nodded in the affirmative her face stoic as was the norm for her. Blue grinned, slapping her hard on the shoulder. She didn't wince, she was used to his brutishness by now. "I see yer like yer new present then?" He nodded towards Dan.
Vixen shrugged.
Blue noted the bandages across Dan's face but said nothing. He'd seen Wolf lurking about. It amused him that the only two women on his crew were so different... it kept life at sea interesting indeed.
From high up the look outs voice wafted down.
"Land ahoy!" There was great bustling movement as the men moved the great sails to maximize their speed. Blue nodded to Vixen. She immediately swung herself up onto the upper decking and began barking orders. The men moved swiftly, using her commands as markers... they worked efficiently.
Indeed... land could just be seen on the horizon.
