After wallowing in my own funk for a bit, I decided to do a deep dive on all the PMs b/t Nebs and I. As I did so, I began to realize something --- Nebs would not have wanted us to mourn her, she would want to be celebrated.

Seeing the classic Nebs "I don't wanna" gif and nebzilla made me realize that there was soooo much joy she brought to us. I think we should remember that.

Like @Saltfountain , I'm going to share a little bit of Nebs too. This is from a little over a year ago and was only sent after much begging, whining, pleading and promises. The best thing about Nebs, other than her humour, her messages, her pics...

Was that she was everyone's friend. I never once saw her involved in any drama. Never once saw her be angry, or passive aggressive, or even snarky. If she liked you, she liked you. Full stop.

I loved the way she'd write someone's name in bold capitals if she hadn't seen them in a while, making her joy obvious for everyone to see.

I loved how she made sure everyone was included with whatever was going on. As an awkward introvert I am especially grateful for that one.

Her enthusiasm and positivity really was infectious and I'd like to honour her in trying to carry some of that energy forwards with me.

Yes! She was the most openly positive, supportive person I met here. She had so much energy to give everyone, and she was always there to pick people up when they needed it, and to bring joy and smiles even if they didn’t.
She was one of those shining examples of a truly good person.

God I’ll miss her.

I love that. Thank you for sharing that with everyone. I know music is a common thread that helps a lot of people connect— with their feelings and with each other. And it’s a beautiful way to connect with someone even once they’ve passed. I’ll think of her when I hear this song.

Nebs seemed ubiquitous, but only a few of us were lucky enough to be in her orbit. She brought uncomplicated happiness.

Ironically, I first chatted with Nebs about the Brianna fiasco. RIP Nebs.

I can’t help thinking back to celebrating her 41st birthday in December by getting 41 Lit dick pics in her inbox. We joked about her drowning in dick and I posted the pic below in S&S. Is it wrong that the immature part of my brain sees “RIP Nebs” and can’t help thinking “rest in penises”? Once she gets settled in, she’ll be swimming in a ball pit-like structure full of squishy penises, like Scrooge McDuck in his money bin. As inappropriate a thought it is, somehow, I think she’d be laughing right along with me. Rest in penises, Nebs

Absolutely! While I’m incredibly saddened by her loss and have even cried a couple times, there are so many great memories of her that I can’t help laughing or smiling while remembering her too. I think that’s exactly how it should be. We were blessed to have had her for the time we did.

And yes, I’m sure she has already made new friendly vag friends in the new place!

I can’t believe this. She was such a dear friend. We wouldn’t talk for months but would pick up like it was yesterday. I was missing her the other day and wondered where she was. I knew her partner wasn’t quite on board so I didn’t email her. I am so sorry for our collective loss.

Nebs loved Weezer, and sent me a clip of her singing “My name is Jonas”. Nebs - I love you sweety. Here - this is for you:

Nebs was always consistent. She cared for so many much more than she cared for herself, whether with a smile, something dirty, or a listening ear. I valued her so much. Seeing this today has rocked me.

I am of Irish and NA descent, and both sides remember through stories, call it a wake or a potlatch. No one is ever truly gone as long as they are spoken of.

I am not a fan of that song, or I wasn't. Now I will always have an emotional anchor to it.
