Please help me find a story

There was a story about a senior in high school getting pregnant and being rejected by the baby's father and her own father. A young engineering student befriends her, offers her a place to stay, and winds up becoming the baby's dad.

They eventually fall in love. His mother treats the baby's mother as her own, and becomes the cheerleader in getting her son and the girl together.

I have tried every search I can think of. Maybe the author withdrew the story.

It starts out in a restaurant/diner and a friend of his mom I believe asks for a favor. She asks him to pay for a meal for the girl or she will be kicked out. And it's snowing/freezing outside.
