Date based search function still not working

Any search to find out stories within last week, gives no result.
Please correct the search function in the Advanced options.

I think the idea is to help people find older stories. Even so, I think a subjective search is a good idea, and I don't kow why it would not include recently posted stories.

Finding ''older stories'' is certainly true statement, here. And lots of them! Like about 20 thousand at a time. Some stores date back to 2000. Even when you can bring up a topic and stay in the hundreds range, the dates are all over the place. This is no ascending or descending order anywhere in this new search. One can only hope that the site will re-think this idea and put the search engine back the way it was before. It was just fine before. Nothing really needed "fixing." Now it's a mess, as far as I can see.

Hit the "turn on advanced search" link. All the ascending/descending/by keyword and other such options are there.

The only problem is failing to find the most recent stories, the rest of the search is more powerful and useful by far.

I disagree utterly.
I find the whole "new" search engine is ineffective and vague.
Either return to the old one or please, make this "new" one target specific.

The biggest problem I find with the new search is that it doesn't search.
And "No", the "advanced function doesn't help either.
