Queersetti said:When some threads were removed or edited on the AMPIcs Forum, a number of people thought that Laurel should take a defiant stand, and refuse to bow to the law. I understand the emotional appeal of that position, but, ultimately, it plays right into the hands of the censors. The religious right does not want sites to Lit to "tone it down", they want them eliminated. Refusing to accede to the law would not result in any positive change, but only a further stifling of adult content on the net. This fight will have to be won in other venues.

Etoile said:BTW, 69forever, I don't know if this was mentioned to you, but since you mentioned wishing you'd had the chance to save it - for the record, Q and I were not aware the thread was going to be removed until it already happened. We got the PM from Laurel after the thread had been moved.

Mary Hall said:Why not just remove the ampics section, seems it would clear up a lot of the trouble concerning the rules about copyrights and whatever
Are you serious?
I don't think the concern with AmPics is copyright; that section is full of pictures submitted by the individual in them, and therefore copyright isn't the issue. The 2257 stuff is an issue.Mary Hall said:Why not just remove the ampics section, seems it would clear up a lot of the trouble concerning the rules about copyrights and whatever
69forever said:I know that being as angry as I was about the added repression of free speech, my first inclination was to post as many images as possible of down and dirty sexual acts in defiance. Once I calmed down, this would only have gotten my right to post images revoked as well as jeaprodizing the site.
I'm not a fool. And I know that this is just another infrigment on our right of free speech. A small thing in the bigger picture. You know I'm not a single issue person where freedom and constitutional issues are concerned.
You're right, this fight is going to be fought in other venues. I hope not ultimately in the streets here. If that's what it takes though, so be it.
Ah, the age-old argument of "it's just a website, you need to get a life!" While that may be good advice for your own situation, the fact is that it is up to the individual what they choose to spend their time on.mansome said:the fact that you would get pissed off because of a post or deletion of post in here shows that maybe you need to take a break from this place and not be so invested in an erotic website and take things so personally and add meaning to frivilous and trivial issues involving entertainment.... especially when you totally have the option to not be a part of this place.........
to be oprossed in a place where you are totally free to come and go is your fault and not someone elses....

No, I don't agree. Some people like to use online fora as a venue to vent frustration they are unable to vent in their personal lives for various reasons. I would say it's better to get into an online shouting match than to beat your spouse.mansome said:You are correct.... However, it seems masochistic and sad for someone to spend their time on a place that makes them upset.... especially a place that's geared towards entertainment...
you would have to agree with me that letting a place like this get to you personally isn't healthy......

69forever said:This individual is just a personal Troll, who in the name of entertainment he espouses, follows me around Lit. taking pot-shots. He is and will remain on Iggy.
Quoting him only legitimizes his quest to get under my skin. It doesn't work anymore.
The simple fact is that the entire concept of the thread came from a discussion between ~Q~ and I about ways to increase traffic on the board. It's where Pookie and I started from. There were many images, not displaying a copyright, of erotic art and photography that were sensual but not pornographic. That and some decent discussion about sexual orientation were what I wanted to save.
I certainly didn't need or use the thread for jack-off material.
Heh, I spend more time here checking up with friends, who I know one way or the other in R/L than any porn. Unable to talk real-time, we message here. One of those who see this as more than a porn site. Some people are just so one dimensional, they'll never understand.

Mary Hall said:Yes, there are plenty of places to get pics of tits and ass, why risk Lit by posting images your not meant to? Getting rid of that section obviously deals with any issues.
