If you took the post in it's entirety, you would have seen me being facetious about the attitudes of the religous right. They have no problem with the slaughter of "unbeleivers", think that AIDS is Gods will and retribution for Gays, but go ape-shit over the images of people engaged in consensual sexual activity.

When some threads were removed or edited on the AMPIcs Forum, a number of people thought that Laurel should take a defiant stand, and refuse to bow to the law. I understand the emotional appeal of that position, but, ultimately, it plays right into the hands of the censors. The religious right does not want sites to Lit to "tone it down", they want them eliminated. Refusing to accede to the law would not result in any positive change, but only a further stifling of adult content on the net. This fight will have to be won in other venues.

I know that being as angry as I was about the added repression of free speech, my first inclination was to post as many images as possible of down and dirty sexual acts in defiance. Once I calmed down, this would only have gotten my right to post images revoked as well as jeaprodizing the site.

I'm not a fool. And I know that this is just another infrigment on our right of free speech. A small thing in the bigger picture. You know I'm not a single issue person where freedom and constitutional issues are concerned.

You're right, this fight is going to be fought in other venues. I hope not ultimately in the streets here. If that's what it takes though, so be it.

Thank you....I was. My humor sometimes is misinterpreted by folks. I am a sarcastic s.o.b. sometimes. The absurdity of our opponents in their beleif systems makes it hard not to be, for a reasonable, thinking person.

Thanks Etoile. I kind of got that after reading ~Q~'s post. I would have edited it to save it, given the key to remove other's posts as well as some of my own. I just hated losing the whole thing. Not the end of civilization as we know it....just it could have been done differently. Water under the bridge.

I don't think the concern with AmPics is copyright; that section is full of pictures submitted by the individual in them, and therefore copyright isn't the issue. The 2257 stuff is an issue.

I certainly didn't need or use the thread for jack-off material.

Also,if you do some research,the copyright issues are coming about pics posted here and in the playground section,absolutely NOTHING to do with the AM thread,where there's no need to post copyrighted pics at all,unless you wanna do some spamming for a porn website.Check this out,before promoting the idea of cutting off an arm when the pinky is hurting
