Please, please get rid of the politics board.

I guess the problem is when you have a forum or chat group focused on a specific subject, in this case erotica, you really only have 3 choices for dealing with trolls.

1. give the trolls somewhere to post (politics)
2. deal with the trolls posting their shit in every other thread
3. actually moderate the site and delete/ban the non-related political bullshit that trolls inevitable have to post.

3 is time consuming and expensive. 2 sucks, so 1 does seem like our best option in this and most cases.

It really does suck, but inevitably that's why people form smaller closed communities around subjects.

And to be clear, someone who is unable to keep their unrelated political opinions to themselves and HAS to share their views in every single non-political forum or group they can find is a 🧌. If you're coming to Lit just to post on current politics regardless of what side you're on, you are probably a great example of what is wrong with social discourse right now. These days you are indistinguishable from content farm bots and provide as much value (negative) to society. (not to say both sides are the same, just that stupid actions don't become smart just because your politics is less morally abhorrent than anothers)

It contributes absolutely nothing to Literotica, and has absolutely nothing to do with the spirit of the page, or site as a whole. And Nazis don't tend to be welcoming or open to anyone. Many of the people that post on the political board, ONLY post there. So it contributes absolutely nothing and I feel most of us would prefer not being on a page with fascists. This site is mostly welcoming and understanding, why have a divisive board? Please get rid of it. Politics has nothing to do with what this site is about.
I understand your frustration but you kinda lost credibility when you used the term mongoloid. Also to make a personal argument for keeping the politics board, going there and seeing the posts for long enough completely changed my world view. I used to be a Republican. Seeing the ridiculous transphobic posts and then the blatantly false information about Portland which I go to frequently and can see for myself that what they say is happening is not actually happening made me question everything about being a conservative. It opened my eyes and helped me become liberal.

I agree on your first point, using that term definitely invalidates a lot of his point.

As far as Politics board existing here, you can also chose to go to actual political forums or completely general forum boards with all topics and achieve the same. To argue that every corner of the internet and every specially focused forum has or benefits from a political board doesn't really follow the potential benefits of exposure. And one wonders how many had the opposite reaction to yours without the critical mindset to question or the education and knowledge to be able to challenge the narratives being sold to them?

On reflection, I wouldn't like the Politics board to go away. It's the only place I can see how the far right thinks, without its being filtered by MSNBC or Democratic Underground. I visit it rarely, but with interest.

I generally do agree with you. And that board is toxic and doesn’t fit here. But I am grateful that I happened to stumble across it and have it help change my point of view. That’s obviously just me talking about my own benefit. I think because I only ever looked at news sources that reinforced my own beliefs at the time I couldn’t see how wrong I was somehow. I think it took seeing opinions so extreme and unfiltered to shock me into questioning everything. I probably should have put 2 and 2 together long before that but that didn’t happen for me.

This is all that's wrong with the world right now. If you don't like something or someone, or disagree, destroy it and cancel them. Just don't go look on there, you're an adult with self control and choices aren't you? Get a grip.

For fuck sake whining, precious little bollockheads are everywhere clutching their pearls over everything.
Indeed

Before the politics board, the general board was inundated with political discussion. And newer folks here might not realize it, but the GB is much less of a cesspool now than it was when there was no political board. Be careful what you wish for. 😉

OP, you've had it explained to you how to make the PB go away.

I'd suggest acting on that instead of continually whingeing about cancelling it. As has been pointed out, its very existence allows an echo chamber for morons to hang out in without stinking everywhere else out, and you have the tools to avoid it. Use them.
