Pleasure Kingdoms OOC/Casting Call

About the tree, i never said how big the tree was did I? Or how sharp the glaive was..

For fuck sakes, we are arguing over a friggin tree. And mind you, it was Zarl who started the stupid argument in the first place.

All I'm saying is that your making a big deal over a tree and telling me that oh "i'm scared cause now Hotaru can cut a monster in half".

Monsters fight back, trees don't.

And thats right, Hotaru isn't a fighter.. but come on, its a stupid tree so that we can move the story right along and build a raft. You guys are taking this way too seriously, its a story.

And about the double edged sword, well um.... Monsters fight back and trees don't. Thats all I'm saying. And yeah, I pointed the story in some direction because JC wasn't online to do it.

And now, I am getting yelled at because Hotaru cut down a tree and is trying to get everyone on a raft. Well sue me, if its going to cause such an uproar, why the hell am I in this story?

*opens mouth, and closes it*

Whatever. This has gotten to a point of being silly. This was never supposed to turn into such an arguement. It was just supposed to be me leaving. And so I go, taking the arguement with me so that all may live a blessed life.

.....Or something,....hopefully along those lines. Maybe?

Well, have fun, have a nice day, and see ya'll in the funny papers.

Ok, I've been reading through this arguement and it has the one thing in it that usually irritates me. It's known as jumping to conclusions.

Now everyone has valid points on how to rp, but one thing keeps getting overlooked. That would be...details.

- Hotaru walked over to one of the trees, and after taking a practice swing.. she sent one of the trees crumbling down....

After chopping it up into about 5 log pieces, she glanced at the others -

Now reread Hotaru's action and please, tell me where it only takes her one swing to chop the tree down. All Vbabe mentions is that Hotaru took a practice swing. She does not say that Hotaru fell the tree in one cut. Instead she uses .. to leave out the exact details of how big the tree was, how sharp the glaive was, or how many swings she took. It could have been one, or even one hundred. GM, all you did was assume it took her one swing to cut down the tree when she only mentioned a practice swing. Jumping to conclusions is one of the worst things you can do without details, and in this case that is exactly what you do. All you did was take an action which Vbabe shortened to leave out the boring little details and decided to nit-pick on it. To me, the action is valid in that details aren't always need, the end result is what matters.

Would you take and write out every little action of what you would do if your character was doing something as simple as chopping wood or drinking? I know I wouldn't always.

I have rped for a long time with vbabe and I know firsthand she does not make things get out of hand with her characters. Hell, if you hadn't noticed, my posts try to cover what has gone on, but I don't put in every little detail. That is really unnesscary.

Good point Sky Jade.. We'd all be book writers if we put in every tiny detail.

On another note..It seems GM has wanted to figure a reason to leave so the best thing to do, even though it wouldn't be good, is let him go.

Me on the other hand am tired of the arguement that has gone on too long all together, and am now going to just wait and see where we go from here.

well, if it matter to everyone, i will wait and see as well that is if you guys want me to join in 'lol'

Thank you, Sky Jade.

And GM, if this wasn't suppose to be an agrument.. did you expect me to sit back and let you bad mouth the way I roleplay, just cause you have some issue with your own rpging abilities?

Sorry But, no thanks.

-Screw it. It's really not worth it. I shouldn't even bother.

*edited because, well, I'm just really not interest in continuing on with this. The arguement. Ehhhh,.....*

Ok everyone..this is getting out of hand.. can we just move on.. GM if you want to leave then leave if you want to stay stay..

I'm sorry but all the bickering back and forth is making this a hell of a lot more tedious than it has to be. I know there is a point to settle, but we're all beginning to sound like a bunch of three year olds and the story is going nowhere.

So before everyone decides to leave the story we just all need to agree on a way to push past all of this mess and move on.

And yes I know I said I was going to sit this out, but I can't sit here and have everyone tearing up the other's RPing. We all RP differently and that's why we're us.

So can we just all agree on a way to move on?

Now GM..Zarl is a good character and so are the others. So I guess I am not going to ask you to try to help us through this instead of everyone just egging each other on. If you want to leave that is your choic, but the arguement needs to stop and we need to move this along.

*Shakes head* If I wanted this I would have stayed with AOL and the crap there. I figured with adults the RPing would be more serious and mature...

Ok, I'm all for moving on and past this and continuing with the story. And um dark, feel free to join in.

ok, here is my character, he is going to be tall, like about 6'2, and huge, like in built, he still has his huge 2 handed maul, wears travel worn clothes, slightly faded blue pants, slightly faded red shirt with black trimming, has only a breastplate for armor, also wears a bronze colored circlet, his maul is made of of iron and has seen better days, but still very trustworthy, his armor bears no symbols and is slightly showign signs of fight abuse, but looks decent considering otherwise

I'm going to be away for at least a few days. My internet access is going to be pretty scarce over the next few weeks. I'll check in when I can.

Hey folks, any chance I can jump in here? I've been reading the thread and I have an idea for a character.

Name: Tomas Niamafete

Race: Human (with a little tiny bit of elven blood somewhere in there)

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 175 lbs

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Vibrant Coppery Red

Age: 19

Special Abilities: Fighter's Trance, Minor Air Affinity (Wind Attacks, and some Aural illusion), and Minor Fire Affinity (just some cool FX stuff, mostly), Oh and he can play the lute like a mother-fuckin' riot.

When Tomas first set out from the small village in which he grew up, he dreamed of making his way to a city and becoming a famous minstrel or Troubadour. But it seemed that along the way, life kept throwing things at him in the form of big nasty monsters. Before long, Tomas had gotten tangled up in a fight for his life that proved he could swing more than a tune. He's better now, but still not a famous bard. But he's workin' on it. If only he'd stop going quite so nuts when he performs. The laity doesn't seem ready for minstrels who light their lutes on fire and smash them to pieces on stage.

TJ- I don't see a problem with you joining..the more the merrier.

On the other hand we are getting a little lopsided on genders... If it were a contest the guys would be winning, but we all know that's not good. :)

As said somewhere earlier in the thread...we need more girls to join....

Well maybe I can balance a few things out.

Let me know what you think.

Name: Tamra Darkfeather

Race: Elvin

Age: 20

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 125

Eyes: Jade Green

Hair: Blonde

Abilities: Minor Air Affinity (Adjust wind direction and speed) and masterful with Bow and Arrows

Tamra left her family at an early age, causing a lack in magical abilities, but gaining skills with weapons quickly. Her weapon of choice is her bow and arrow, however she’s skilled with swords, daggers, clubs, wooden boards with nails driven through it. All kinds of hand-to-hand weapons. She has traveled these lands constantly, and has developed a longing for companionship. She is still pure, amazingly enough from running around in these woods for some five odd years.

Would it be better then if I created a female character? I'm more than willing to do that as well. Just let me know. :D

I would say play whatever you are more comfortable with..either would be fine.

Okay, give me a few minutes to come up with a female character and I'll post it here for approval before I jump in.

That'd be good.. and for you and n00n3y0ukn0\/\/ we are probably at a good point for you to stumble upon our little party.

Name: Lilliana St.Claire

Age: 18

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 115 (very thin)

Hair: Black

Eyes: Gray

Abilities: Lilliana has been pledged to the Elders from birth and may call upon the Spheres of Life, Spirit, and Water. Her uses of magic tend to be subtle and work more through the redirection of what is, than through pure creation or destruction. Her previously cloistered life has given her little in the way of martial prowess, although she does carry a stout wood staff. Although she channels magic through the Elders, due to her upbringing, she has a wealth of latent magical potential within. Currently, she is completely unaware of her nascent internal power.

History: Raised in a temple dedicated to the worship of the Elder Ones, Lilliana knows little of the outside world, only that there are Fiends and Monsters that prey upon the populace. When her temple was razed by a small army of Monsters, Lilliana fled for her life. Now, she is lost, tired, hungry, and very, very frightened.

Hopefully I can get my brain working on this thread & actually get something posted ... *sigh*
