Political violence

All I can see from her suggests that Joe Cox was a standard 'liberal interventionist' i.e. a warmonger masquerading as a humanitarian.

Bombing for Peace is like fucking for chastity. Are barrel bombs so much more destructive than cluster bombs or radioactive cannon shells? The West constantly whines about inhumanity, yet they don't clamp down on ISIS oil sales which is the cause of the crisis, nor do they look at Russian bombs as being as humane as British or American bombs.

If the west wanted "Safe Zones" in Syria why did they pump millions of dollars in weapons into Syria?

There are no White Hats in the ME. Even ours gets dirty when we are there. Generally I support the Kurds. But that means going against the Turks. The Turks are NATO and both guard the door to Europe and block the Russians from extending south.

If the ME and nearby region was drawn along ethnic lines it would look like this...

If it was, IMO, we would have a chance at peaceful resolutions.

The Kurds are nationalistic. Shia, Sunni, Christian or whatever. If you are Kurdish that comes first. Makes them appear inclusive and tolerant but given a free hand I suspect ethnic-non-Kurd minorities might suffer within their borders. Maybe not, I hope.

Saladin was Kurd.

At it's height the Islamic Caliphate of history was far more tolerant than Christian Europe. But that is a relative statement. It itself fell apart due to regional nationalism. Folk hate to be ruled by someone not there own.

Our Queen was not born here and does not live here. And that is the basis for most anti-monarchy sentiments. A Canadian couple living in England with a child born there are still Canucks even their child (and so down a couple of generations if they married Cdn. citizens) but some still want a Canadian born head of state. Even if the Queen has no real power and is just a figurehead.

I'm biased obviously by my English birth but I have no issues with it. Think of it as a person who holds multiple citizenships and her palace as Canadian soil. Sure does simplify our political set up. By removing one level from day to day involvement. Don't have to spend money on supporting or re-electing her either. There are enough elections going on at any one time. And she is not the Queen of England, she is the Queen of Canada. But I digress.

Good lord. As if we are white hats.

The troubles of the middle east are our doing.
