How have ya'll been? It looks like I have been missing a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to be successful with waitresses / barmaids. I always feel odd about asking them out, or for a phone number, because I KNOW they get hit on all day long. I just make sure I'm polite, tip well and am a joy to serve.

The next time I'm there I always get good service and some friendly small talk, so I can get 'em to laugh, but I never ask a waitress / bartender for a phone number, even when I feel I should.

Maybe I should try offering to buy the bartender a drink. Think that'd go over well?

Now the dilemna is, which ones do I try hitting on?

Hot waitresses and bartenders are everywhere.

Another reason I've never tried hitting on one directly is that if I went down in flames, the good service might stop on my next visit. Like maybe they're thinking "I'll get him that pint of Guiness, He's always nice, fun to talk to, and tips well" and if I screw it up, it'll become "Ugh...I'll let someone else serve him. I feel weird serving guys who I know like me"

The exception to my rule has always been when inviting them to do something with a decent sized group of my friends. Then I'm talking to 'em when they're not at work. This method has worked alright for me a few times.

actually had good luck dating them when in my 20's- ony asked out ones I knew well, where I was a regular.
still, one of my worst misses was a waitress that had a bf , who she eventually married. years later when I was married and she wasn't, she told me only reason she married Smucko was cause she gave up waiting for me to ask her out. Who knew.
