I am home from my two week travels... and I had a BLAST! Right from the getgo when I landed at my destination... albeit a little bit late, but not by much... and my very dear friend met me at the airport. We laughed and talked and chatted all the way to their home, and once inside... we all shared more laughter.

They're the sweetest people, and I love them dearly! After a while, we all went out for Chinese buffet and shared more laughter while watching Tarzan (Disney's version) on two of the restaurant's three tv's. Then we went back to their place... shared more laughter and chatter like old friends... and I was laughin' so hard at one point, that I very nearly fell off my location!!

The only thing that saved me from fallin', was grabbin' the pillow to use as my anchor! I can't remember when the last time was I laughed that hard. We all had a good time, and I am already looking forward to going back and picking up where we left off.

While I didn't get the chance to spend more time with them on this trip... I am planning/have plans to spend more time with them when I next go up. They are the lovliest couple and I adore them deeply.

I should be asleep. We pulled into my home town between 04:45 and 05:00... I am exhausted... but I can't sleep. I need to unwind... just don't know how!

Oh Shreik! I did have a great time... and I really HATE to see it draw to an end. As for the "rolling" part of it.... or a portion of it anyway ... I must tell you about the return trip from Mass.

After we 'bobtail'ed over to the second portion of her split load... in Norton, Ma... we noticed that three other trucks from the same company she works for were ahead of us. After a bit of gab with the other drivers, we discovered that we all were going back to the same 'drop yard' in the home base state.

It was the consenses of the group, once all had picked up a consignment... that we would "convoy" (which is now illegal), so we formed a Werner "Parade" back. So... four trucks, each with a 53' trailer filled with 57,800 lbs. of wooden pallats... went traipsing down thru Connecticut, where we picked up a 5th truck from the same company... and then headed into New Jersey and on into New Yawk! OMG! It was soooo much fun!

We all had CB's in the trucks... so to avoid all the "squawk" on 19... we went down to 13 and stayed on it for the next day. Let me tell you... New Yawk definitely DOES NOT sleep!! Ever! Here it was... going on midnight by now (cause we didn't get everyone loaded up and ready to go until almost 6pm), and there was construction on the G. W. Bridge!! Sooo... because of the construction... yep... there was the inevitible DETOUR!! As it was... we were headed for the upper level of the bridge, so to get to the lower level... we had to snake down RT. 1... then "flip a bitch" (make a U turn)... come back up the other side of the ramp we just went down... then proceed to the lower level.... and on down 95S. (So, I guess it was actually edging closer to 1am by now.)

During the ride down the bridge, before the detour... we all found out that the lone driver who was "bobtail" (A rig that has no trailer behind) has printed up art work to some of my works at another site. I very nearly went thru the Captain's chair of the cab! One of the guys (there were like 5 male drivers and then us 2 females) actually knew who I was!

I was being asked, by all five by now, what I did when I wasn't riding along with my sisterfriend... and I told them that I wrote erotica for Lit. That's when the driver running bobtail said he knew of a Victoria from Lit... but there were a bunch of numbers behind her name. He nearly choked on his coffee when I said, "This is she... the very same." He couldn't believe that she was riding in the "parade" of trucks!! Then, they ALL wanted to know how I developed my storylines, etc.

So, to make a long story short... it was actually getting closer to 2am by now... we all were getting tired... so we found a shopping mall near by and we all pulled into the parking lot (known as a "safe haven" when a trucker is really tired and can't find a rest stop at which to pull over into) and that was the end of that days adventure. We all stayed together well into the next day, until we stopped at a TA truck stop... had lunch. Then the guy running bobtail had to split for Allentown... and the rest of us continued on back to the home state.

What a blast!! Lots of good company... and lots of new friends.
