Face App, ancestrydna, alphabet, facebook, tik tok, etc.

Even a site like this, which was set up by anonymous operators to be anonymous, is filled to overflowing with voluntarily supplied personal data.

I don’t give my privacy away.

Why are you so glib about yours?

Genuinely interested.

I might have added “ or not glib” , but most people here think like this:

many people of the Lit are on my social media :)

(Note the use of the possessive pronoun.)

Genuinely interested in your thoughts on the topic ( versus insults about some other poster ).

oggbashan is an alt, not the real me.

oggbashan has an email account and a minimal presence on Facebook.

The real person, who writes as oggbashan, is not on facebook or any social media. But if the two identities were linked? So what? The real person is long retired and has no employers or potential employers to be upset that I write for Literotica.

Note: No element of lit/sex-shaming was intended or considered in writing the op.

I see your point that it can be a question of degree based on your personal risk assumption calculation.

Or, slippery slope, you’ve already lost the irreplaceable.

You want to hear about creepy invasion of privacy shit?

I have an AT&T account for my work phone. All of my other "bills" are in the name of the trust account which is not my personal name. Except 1 - my internet bill (which is NOT AT&T).

Every search I make on the internet from my desktop - every single one of them - can be repeated on my work phone by just touching the drop down menu.

What that means is that if I search for "erotica" on my PC, the search and search results show up on my work phone with just a screen touch after opening the browser and connecting to WiFi.

Yeah, explain that to your clients...

What about using another search engine besides Google or another browser?

I don't bother.

Sure I can use DuckDuckGo but what's the point? I don't surf for porn and everything else is usually either work or book research.

It's just that sometimes what I'm searching for can lead to misunderstandings if someone sees the search terms and doesn't know it's book research. The suggested advertising is sometimes hilarious. Other times it's scary as hell that whoever tracks that crap even puts those particular things up as "suggestions".

Only a truly obsessed twatwaffle can make every fucking thread about Luk.

stop kidding yourself, if you are 'online'---,
at ANY GIVEN MOMENT, you are food and game for anyone with "REAL" skills.
And so long as you are using 'their' tech, you will ALWAYS be food and game.

Unsync your phone. :)

You are wise to be concerned.

Aside from who knows what creeps are into your business the reality is that Big Brother is watching. Way more so than Orwell dreamed in his nightmares. The worst thing about it is that society doesn't care.

I don't think that that is something you always do sometimes people help you but certainly in this case yes you were the twatwaffle that tried to make this about you.

luk was just a convenient example, thanks to his latest post about how much he has on his "friends" on social media.

And as we know,he won't hesitate to doxx people by releasing private information about them here on this anonymous, open to the public platform.

Same reason that shoe thread now pops up those same ugly shoe ads. Fuck no, I don’t want to buy them!

<<<<<< Oh...btw...I’m wearing that dress today. Different shoes!

Never sync'd it in the first place.

They sync themselves thru Google. Go to Google account settings and have a look around. Pretty sure you can fix it there. I'm no IT expert but I'm fairly certain you can do it there.

Which is the point I'm making.

Because the bill for my internet and my phone come to the same address, and even though they are not from the same provider, someone decided that the 2 things were both "mine" and decided to share the information between them.

Can you imagine what could result if I did surf for porn and the phone was my kid's?

Your comprehension skills are deteriorating rapidly.
