Question about sexual RP

Hi,

The sexual RP here is very inviting, but I was wondering, what is the best way to choose one I'd like to join ?

What I mean is, some require at least one post per day and others don't, and as far as I can see at this time, each RP has its own "rules", so in order to find out which RP has which "rules" I'd have to read every first post... right ?

Second, I understand that open RP's are open to join for everyone unless otherwise stated, but to be honest I find it hard to just barge in and start posting, after all I'm fairly new so I have no idea if the things I'd write down would meet the required standards...

Well, as one of the SRP'ers, I guess I can chime in my 2 cents.

Most of the "older" RP'ers like to wrte with people who know what they're doing and have a good writing ability, plus some creativity to spice things up. Some (and I have to admit, I'm a bit of one myself) seem to find a group of people they usually prefer to get into an RP with. Of course, this slight clique thing also means that if you can get in "good" with one of the older writers, other ones will notice.

An easier way to find out about what Rp's are looking for and their "requirements" are is to check out the very first thread on the board, the "Threads needing players" thread. Most people put a link to the first post they started of the RP and say what they're looking for.

I'm sure you'll find something to stir your interest (and whatever else it may cause- hey, it IS an adult based website)- the SRP board is always looking for more creative minds to play with!

What I did was look for roles I thought I could write. I also looked for other writers that I liked the style of. Then I PMed the thread starter about taking on a role they'd advertised on the main thread that lists such things.

The people are friendly there. It's fairly easy to get started. Have fun! I did!

The SRP forum is a great place. That's where I learnt to write - one small paragraph at a time.

The only thing that you can do really is to put yourself out there and join some. It can be rather time consuming though - and you have to remember that your going to have to be compatible with your posting companions otherwise it just won't flow.

I remember in my SRP prime being too ambitious and struggling abysmally to keep up with Mephistophelily's numerous plotlines! I'm sure most of the people on that board don't have jobs and that's how they get to post so much!

To me, a good way for a newbie to start would be to create their own thread. Come up with a fantasy of yours, or if you don't dare yet, a run of the mill fantasy from some of the stories you have read. You may have to give it a couple of tries before someone bites / decides to take the chance to commit some time to you.

If you want, you can message me and we could come up with something together. I haven't posted in that forum for a long time. I wouldn't be able to post more that twice a day though, but certainly once every day is doable.
