While I agree about rude posts....it is NOT against rules. Sorry Hon but one either has to put those on ignore or ignore in threads. I would love nothing more than to ban such posters (or at least delete posts)....BUT...We, as moderators, cannot do such things on a free speech site, without explicit permission from the web masters.

Well, i've seen many, MANY threads and posts edited and/or removed, so you might wanna talk to your boss about that.

And as far as free speech goes, it's just a catch phrase you guys throw around here, a myth, an urban legend to give the same illusion as a Welcome Mat.

Because it's only "free" up until your "speech" get's heard.

Not sure what she feels was censored. Haven't heard that.
Seems like a huge waste of time with very little point. I'm moving on to more fun or stimulating topics.

The only threads that get deleted are ones where the owner of the thread asks for it to be deleted, or as stated before, where they are moved because they're in the wrong section...or because it went against Lit rules (ie: posting things that were grabbed off other websites such as pictures, or are threads that direct you to other websites...usually ones you have to pay for)


This thread may be to ask moderators questions, but if others know the answers to things or can help out as well, then they are welcome to post here as well. Some of us have been here for quite a long time and can answer things when the mods cannot get here right away to answer.

He's telling you self-sacrifice is sometimes necessary to insure free speech-even by you because there's nothing special about you or anyone else. How cool, another newbie that cuts off the debate of free speech by calling someone an asshole-this is even more amusing-and I'll bet it'll get even better. I think you're just vying for the attention of Brinnie because she's obviously Miss Popular. That's okay of course if you can't develop your own personality. I've often wondered what it would be like to wander aimlessly through life with no direction. Like a pirate on a rudderless ship I suppose. Enlighten me though-I really want to know. Interesting position . . . maybe it's just me, but nine times out of ten, it seems that when Brinnie gets into a fight, it's one she started in some way. And, ten times out of ten, when there's a good opportunity to just let it drop, she starts kicking and screaming. And yet, others are the trolls? Interesting.

It's also interesting that the so-called "trolls" are presenting coherent, calm discussions/arguments. Meanwhile the so-called "victim" is shouting, ranting, raving, name-calling, and otherwise acting like someone far too young to legally be on the board.

Contrary to some belief, the concept does exist. Sadly, it is not universal. Nor is it applied equally or fairly. Nor does having the right to say/do what you want necessarily mean you should say or do what you want.

All that said, while everyone has the right to free speech, everyone also has the right to choose not to listen to everyone else. Thus, the Ignore List on Lit. Now, it sounds like some folks need to put each other on Ignore and drop the subject.

Anyhoo, flame away, I'll just add to my Ignore List, so don't expect a response.

I don't see any huge bright colored letters in my posts demanding your attention. Or any fancy graphics which indicate anger and hostility. What you see in my posts to Brinnie, Random Slut, and you is a rational questioning of your argument and the need for it. And all the three of you can think of doing is calling me names.

If you have facts and legitimate arguments, present those to the powers that be or to convince any of us that you are doing more than being loud and obnoxious for the sake of being seen.



BTW, if you want a new handle, you can reregister and get any name you want as long as it isn't taken.
