Question and Comments for the Moderators:

Brinnie,
While I agree about rude posts....it is NOT against rules. Sorry Hon but one either has to put those on ignore or ignore in threads. I would love nothing more than to ban such posters (or at least delete posts)....BUT...We, as moderators, cannot do such things on a free speech site, without explicit permission from the web masters.
Well, i've seen many, MANY threads and posts edited and/or removed, so you might wanna talk to your boss about that.

And as far as free speech goes, it's just a catch phrase you guys throw around here, a myth, an urban legend to give the same illusion as a Welcome Mat.

Because it's only "free" up until your "speech" get's heard.
Project a LOUDER VOICE http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/Britney_Spears/fire.pngthan others and LIT asks you to compromise. A self-sacrifice is a high price for free, is it not?

Because God forbid you have someone who actually takes advantage of the so called "free speech". http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/Britney_Spears/super_man.png

Back to the beginning again huh?

Actually, I haven't heard her say anything except that she has the right to say what ever she wants, at the top of her lungs.
Not sure what she feels was censored. Haven't heard that.
Seems like a huge waste of time with very little point. ;) I'm moving on to more fun or stimulating topics.

The only threads that get deleted are ones where the owner of the thread asks for it to be deleted, or as stated before, where they are moved because they're in the wrong section...or because it went against Lit rules (ie: posting things that were grabbed off other websites such as pictures, or are threads that direct you to other websites...usually ones you have to pay for)

This thread may be to ask moderators questions, but if others know the answers to things or can help out as well, then they are welcome to post here as well. Some of us have been here for quite a long time and can answer things when the mods cannot get here right away to answer.

Hey Eb...just a thought here...

Since you arent being paid...and since you have given us so much of your time at lit ..I dont think having to put up with some child who cant seem to take no for an answer is what you need in life...I say job well done....move on and be done with it...why waste time on some leftover from god knows where..talking out of her ass..

Thats just my two cents here..and we all know that the devil is the one that people love to hate...so I dont give a shit who gets pissed off at me*grins*...

Anyway take care EB..and dont let the kids give ya a hard time...

Much love
DC

Since my question was directed to THE MODERATOR, I guess I'll just say it again.

Again, just you exercising your right of free speech at the top of your lungs and still not saying anything.

And thousands have self sacrificed so you can do that. :D

Because you seem to be the only one with a problem about free speech here. Doesn't that make you think that maybe it isn't the problem you make it out to be. :D

Don't sweat it, Brinnie, :) He, like everyone else on this site just wants attention. You being Miss Popular makes you a primary candidate for trolls.

Obviously he's trying to prove you wrong.

As soon one talks about the workings of free speech, assholes will see it as an open invite to execute said free speech.

He's just arguing for arguments sake. I'll bet he's not even aware of that much.

He's telling you self-sacrifice is sometimes necessary to insure free speech-even by you because there's nothing special about you or anyone else. You've excercised your brand of free speech on various boards and you're still here so like was mentioned, you haven't said anything. For myself, I just find you amusing.

A troll is more like someone with alt ID and 16 posts to their credit. Actually, in a popularity contest I'd vote for you because if nothing else, your insightful. I think I'm going to start following you around the boards because you're just so interesting to me, and amusing as well.

How cool, another newbie that cuts off the debate of free speech by calling someone an asshole-this is even more amusing-and I'll bet it'll get even better. I think you're just vying for the attention of Brinnie because she's obviously Miss Popular. That's okay of course if you can't develop your own personality. I've often wondered what it would be like to wander aimlessly through life with no direction. Like a pirate on a rudderless ship I suppose. Enlighten me though-I really want to know. But please, don't argue with me just for the sake of argument okay, unless of course you're not aware of it when you do it.

I really wasn't going to get involved in this, especially considering its not exactly the right forum for this, but . . .

Interesting position . . . maybe it's just me, but nine times out of ten, it seems that when Brinnie gets into a fight, it's one she started in some way. And, ten times out of ten, when there's a good opportunity to just let it drop, she starts kicking and screaming. And yet, others are the trolls? Interesting.

It's also interesting that the so-called "trolls" are presenting coherent, calm discussions/arguments. Meanwhile the so-called "victim" is shouting, ranting, raving, name-calling, and otherwise acting like someone far too young to legally be on the board.

Final note on "Free Speech":

Contrary to some belief, the concept does exist. Sadly, it is not universal. Nor is it applied equally or fairly. Nor does having the right to say/do what you want necessarily mean you should say or do what you want.

All that said, while everyone has the right to free speech, everyone also has the right to choose not to listen to everyone else. Thus, the Ignore List on Lit. Now, it sounds like some folks need to put each other on Ignore and drop the subject.

Anyhoo, flame away, I'll just add to my Ignore List, so don't expect a response.

My point is that she hasn't made an argument. So technically it isn't an argument. All she has done is say that she has free speech in big letters and with fancy graphics. No details of how this free speech is being abused. I don't see it. and neither do most of the people here. If she has a point I would be happy to hear it.

So far all I have heard is her screaming for what she already has. :D

And it seems you have the same talent for discussion. You resort to calling people names. Not a very bright debating technique nor one which indicates any thought on the matter. Can't you come up with anything better. :D

I don't see any huge bright colored letters in my posts demanding your attention. Or any fancy graphics which indicate anger and hostility. What you see in my posts to Brinnie, Random Slut, and you is a rational questioning of your argument and the need for it. And all the three of you can think of doing is calling me names.

If you have facts and legitimate arguments, present those to the powers that be or to convince any of us that you are doing more than being loud and obnoxious for the sake of being seen.

BTW, if you want a new handle, you can reregister and get any name you want as long as it isn't taken.

I didn't call anyone any names.
Putting words in someone's mouth isn't the brightest debating technique. ;)

I would think that in a discussion with someone it is polite to speak to them. It achieves much more than yelling at the air. :D

Just to be helpful ...I believe this is what Maverick was talking about....note the asshole above

You have an interesting position on an interesting position. So I'll ask you, what the hell actually happened here and what was achieved?

Here, I'll spell it out: :)

What are you trying to accomplish by giving me unsolicited information?

Also, we all knew you are not trying to be polite. ;)
