i'm wondering if it's possible to breast feed with pierced nipples. Any ideas? i did a search here and didn't find anything about this in particular.

Thanks.

Unless the piercing damaged the milk ducts, there should be no problem with breast feeding as long as you remove the jewelry.

I think leaving the jewelry in while breast feeding would pose a serious risk to both the piercing and the infant.

the structure of the breast is such that there's is no problem with milk, or milk production, as a result of piercing - provided there have been no complications or major infections.

some people have absolutely no problems leaing their jewelry in while feeding, others find it painful and difficult to get the baby to 'latch on' effectively.
it's a personal thing for each person - try both ways, and use whichever works for you and your child.

I would think as long as you wiened the child before they had braces that you would be ok...

I'm not a dr. but I know people who are :)
