Questions for JMohegan

Ha! Actually, no. JM neither asks for, nor offers, pics.

What about you, Winston? Feel free to make this deal with respect to yourself. Let's open this up to on all-D thread.
Hey, you didn't suggest pics, so you're innocent... :D

As for me... nope, I don't share my pics - someone might reckanize me and ruin my future in politics.

That looks incredible, thanks for the link.

I had private messages on for my first few months on this board. But I grew tired of the behind-the-scenes drama that seems impossible to avoid without turning them off.

Fair enough.

I do remember you mentioning something a while back that I'll leave to you to bring up if you choose to, but I do wonder...

Are you currently single and do you date?

Sooo how about that Supreme Court? I haven't really thought about future justices at all!

On politics...there was a bit on MSNBC about how HRC is kicking ass as secretary of state. I gotta say, she's doing better than I imagined. I thought she'd be all off message, but she's toed the line.

I don't think of myself as single, and don't believe I ever will.

I date, occasionally, yes.

I heard someone propose Bill's name as potential Souter replacement, and burst out laughing in response.

I agree about Hillary. I've been pleasantly surprised.

Wishful thinking aside, not really, no.

And you?

I think so.

I do spend more time than I care to admit asking myself if the way I'm spending my life is in harmony with the cosmos and my personal mission in life.

I also think about my dead mother almost every day, and have an ongoing conversation with her that I think of as very important in my life.

Marquis. JMohegan.

You're starting to look like one person having a conversation with yourself.

I think I better go to sleep. . . .

I don't really have a sense of what "in harmony with the cosmos" would mean. The cosmos, to me, seems pretty brutal.

What do you consider to be your personal mission in life? I don't really look at things that way; I'd say my behavior is more defined by a personal code of honor.

I can relate to the conversations.

Get out! Ugh, Bill. I'm so over him. Not that I was ever...yeah.

Oh, there was this article in the NY Times about what Professor Obama's approach in the classroom tells us about future nominees. I thought it didn't say much, but beyond that I don't think the way Obama teaches a con law course is necessarily going to mean that much for how Obama as a leader makes this choice.

Also, Cass Sunstein is a god. I mean, that would be incredible.

Anyhoo, just found that interesting. You should post some naked pictures now or something. ;)

I don't know what being in harmony with the cosmos means, or at least my understanding changes very rapidly. I do know that sometimes I feel very in synch with the universe and other times not so much.

I don't know what my mission is either, but I think it's very important that I work towards it always and it is the primary source of motivation for me in my life, the idea that I am here to do something, something more important than my pleasure or my ego or even my life.

Do you think you'll meet a woman in the future that you will share yourself completely with?

Do we get more than one question?

Regarding ice cream, I would love to try authentic Italian gelato. I have a standing invitation to come to Rome and be "waited on hand and foot"; you're making that offer sound very tempting.

OK, second question...

How do you feel about Carl Sagan?

I missed the seque at the end there, woman.

What's great about Sunstein?

So far, the most entertaining part of the process has been the right wing commentators' sputtering over the Presidents' avowed preference for someone with "empathy."

Oh sorry, past my bedtime. Way past. He's a genius law professor. Wicked genius. I can't imagine the conversations he and Samantha Power have. Can mere mortals even keep up??

Touche, JMo.

Touche. :)

But is he as hot as Granholm? Somehow, I'm guessing no.

I need to head to bed, too.

I would recommend Italy to anyone who can make the trip. The food, the history, the art, the scenery, the people. It really is an incredible place.

I don't know as much about Sagan as I probably should. Are you a fan?

I'm holding off on Europe until I have more $$$ stashed but Italy will take up much of my time there.

Sagan's book, Demon Haunted World - Science as a Candle in the Dark, changed my life. Fan? Not in the strict sense of the word but I like that he finds, (found), wonder in everyday things. I would have liked to have met him. I consider him one of the most interesting humans America has produced.

When I heard about her as a possible SecState, my first thought was that it was the single most perfect place to put her. I've been dead pleased with her performance, and think she's in the role she should be in.

Pretty much everything in Italy is yummy, really.

Just stay clear of tourist traps: the best food and the worst food are often just few meters away ... :)

:rose:

When and where have you been in Italy?

Have you ever thought about taking a tour of the south? The train goes from NYC to New Orleans. All the way to Atlanta then turning west.
Charlotte, the queen city. Clemson, small collage town on a lake, Atlanta, Birmingham, Toscaloosa, Hattiesburng, Jackson, Lafayette, go you Ragin' Cajuns, and New Orleans. Take syd with you too. I think she is scared of the south.

Oh shush. I've spent my time below the mason-dixon. I just find that I prefer it up here in hymietown.
