Raceplay theme too controversial for Lit?

I'm about to begin working on a story plot that features a young Indian male being taken in by a dominant, somewhat racist white Austrlian or Americn couple. The couple isn't really racist in the traditional sense (as in they truly hate minorities and want them eradicated). Rather, they find darker skinned minorities to be sexually exotic and even appealing, but belief in taking a firm hand with them due to what they belief is the servile, submissiv nature of certain minorities, especially South Asians or Indians. Is this something that would upset most readers, be they male or female? Or would there be some leeway, provided I make it plain that my story is not intended to promote racial hatred in any way? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

There is always a risk of offending somebody. If you look at the story list over a few days you will see racial domination stories going both ways.
But unless you make it overt and hateful , I don't see a problem

So instead of racism, racism?

The truth is you'll find quite a lot of people who'll get off on it and you're probably pulling punches for little reason. A good chunk of interracial stories hinge on this.

It certainly isn't difficult to point to cultures where women are supposed to be servile and submissive. Granted portraying the men of such a culture in this light might be offensive to them.

Personally I have always thought the skin tones of Indian women to be absolutely beautiful.

That is a valid point. It's not meant to demean an entire group in general so much as do justice to the fetish of certain Indian men who do enjoy assuming a submissive role with white women.

It's worth clarifying the point and nature of the submission. If a guy submits to a couple of another race, there's nothing about that that is inherently racist. There has to be a pairing of it with racist viewpoints, thoughts, etc.

In the story idea, will the couple be making this Indian man their submissive for the "normal" reasons that any dominants would or is it because he is Indian and then feel Indians should serve? And is this an actual belief of theirs or just an element of the play scenario they have with this guy?

It will also matter depending on how much of the thought process, belief structure of these people come out in the story. If it's all internal and never brought out in dialogue or internal thoughts/narration, it doesn't matter. But if it is part of the play and is discussed/mentioned/lectured on/thought about by the dominants of submissive, then you're at point where people may be offended.

So I'd say to make it clear that it is a kink that is used by these people in play and has no part of the rest of their lives. There are couples who do "rape play" and that doesn't make the guy an actual rapist. Stress it as a kind of role playing and I think you'll get the kind of effect you are looking for.

A story like that could be very well-written but is likely to get flamed by the knuckle-draggers. Some knuckle-dragger flamed my third Raven story partly for having a "black slave" (who's actually teaching her boyfriend to dominate her,) so anything that involves overt sexual racism will undoubtedly have its haters.

Of course, how well-written it is will affect a lot, too.

Well, to answer your question, race does play a role since the wife finds the dark skinned Indian man to be very exotic and attractive. But yeah, I see your point. Stressing the role play element rather than any actual racist motivation would allow me to escape most of the moral outrage. Thanks for the tip.

That's a shame. I'd like to have a link to your story in question if that's alright with you, so as to get a better idea of how to go about this sort of thing. Thanks in advance.

The Raven stories are in my sig. They're a work in progress; I'm working on chapter 4, and it will likely finish out at 8-9 chapters.

The very problem with your OP and your method of asking the question and pursuing the subject is that "what is strange or exotic" in any culture, place or time always has a strong sexual allure, and this is likely due to strong built in instincts to 'spread the genes around.'

Sex implies new babies, and a strong desire for the exotic causes sex with such persons and interbreeding.

During the course of that, yes, you have the interplay between cultural mores and the Much Stronger Desire to Fuck.

Now, approaching the matter timidly just won't work. Asking ethical and moral questions won't work. Take the matter straight on - you've got biased, racist, but likeable characters and they Really Want To Fuck That Hot Darkie.

Then go for it and ignore the babbleheads.

If I was attempting to write this story, I'd make it told from the young Indian male's perspective, and make him a really smart, aware character, who's very conscious of what the white couple is doing, their desires and kinks, the race implications, etc. So he goes along with it, acting the naive, servile type, but actually quite a strong character with his own motives and perspectives. That doesn't mean that the white folk need to get their comeuppance, just that their perspective isn't the dominant one in the story. What's his motivation? He just wants to get with the hot white married lady? He wants to subvert their relationship somehow? He values the lifestyle of being a servant (and sex toy) of a wealthy couple over his regular life?

How about he's in an arranged marriage with a woman he doesn't love, lives with the inlaws, has no privacy and gets no sex at home? Simple enough.

The job is the best thing that ever happened to him, hands down. At first he was torn with guilt and all kinds of feelings, but after a month he realized the employers weren't so horrible. The first times with the lady weren't so good, but she was very demanding. She didn't quit. Two weeks into the job she sucked him off on the second floor balcony, and that was when, looking out over the vast city, he decided there was definitely something in the job for him.

That is an excellent suggestion and I'll be going with that angle. Thanks !

I'm definitely going to incorporate that element as well. Like Tmmldr suggested, the Indian wants an escape from the stifling confines of his own culture as well as from the stifling clutches of a frigid, sexually unavailable wife. And like you said, he indeed wants to get with the hot white married lady. There's also the fact that he's an illegal who was smuggled into the country for the sole purpose of marrying his cousin (whom he loathes). Taking up that job offered by the white couple means financial security as well as protection from the very real threat of vengeance posed by his outraged relatives and in-laws (In Indian or South Asian culture, a young man who tries to escape an arranged marriage with a relative is going to find himself facing some potentially nasty consequences). And yeah, the lifestyle of being a sex toy for a wealthy white couple is definitely more rewarding than slaving away behind the corner of some stifling corner-shop with an angry wife and mother-in-law glowering at him.
