Yes, I'm several hundred miles inland. We'll probably get some rain from it but nothing violent.

We're pretty lucky here in Arkansas, too. All we have to worry about is an occasional tornado...nothing compared to a Category 5 hurricane.

Well, they're destructive, but don't cover anywhere as big an area as hurricanes, nor do they last as long, so the odds of being hit by one are lower. At least, that's my opinion, I've never seen any statistics on it.

We're supposed to get rain today, wind and rain tomorrow from Gustav...not very bad here, just 30 to 40 mph breezes.

It started raining here midmorning yesterday and it's still raining. It's supposed to keep it up for a couple days, until Gustav blows himself out. We might get some wind gusts near 40 mph today, but that's nothing compared to what they got in Mississippi and Louisiana. We're much too far inland for that kind of hurricane weather. We only ever get a lot of rain from one after it starts dying out.
