My endocrinologist has me do it at least a week ahead but I always forget so I end up doing it after and she talks about it with me on the next visit. (I see her 3-4 times a year.) My GP just gets the blood results from her labs.I had another rant that I debated posting this morning but then the doctorās office called to schedule my physical and I was reminded of this...
Why do they have you do bloodwork on the same day of your physical? Why not a week prior so the doctor can discuss your results with you at the appointment? Isnāt that the whole fucking purpose?
The cynic in me says that itās because they want to schedule you for another appointment if your results are abnormal so they get 2 visits out of it vs one.
So frustrating! Anyone in healthcare have perspective on this?
