Rant of the day šŸ’„

I had another rant that I debated posting this morning but then the doctorā€™s office called to schedule my physical and I was reminded of this...

Why do they have you do bloodwork on the same day of your physical? Why not a week prior so the doctor can discuss your results with you at the appointment? Isnā€™t that the whole fucking purpose?
The cynic in me says that itā€™s because they want to schedule you for another appointment if your results are abnormal so they get 2 visits out of it vs one.
So frustrating! Anyone in healthcare have perspective on this?
My endocrinologist has me do it at least a week ahead but I always forget so I end up doing it after and she talks about it with me on the next visit. (I see her 3-4 times a year.) My GP just gets the blood results from her labs.

I usually have my blood work done a week before my appt, but last time NO ONE CALLED IT IN, so I didn't eat breakfast and took time off for nothing!! Dammit!!!!šŸ˜” then they had me come the next week to get it done... then didn't have the results for my appt...šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜”

At least that works out!

That reminds me that I actually did get blood work done recently from a specialist. I wonder if they could just use that.

My minor rant of the day. I switched to ordering grooming products that came in glass containers a year or so back because I am (or was) in a socio economic strata that could. The last batch I ordered, same price, but in fucking plastic that looks like glass. Motherfuckers.

Not my words but I do echo the sentiment! Good reminder for those who donā€™t have people in their lives to offer them this perspective. Enjoy your holiday but do keep in mind that itā€™s not a universal nor secular holiday.

the rant my brain wants to go on right now might make me seem crazy...i agree everyone should be mindful and respectful of everyones beliefs and practices...the one thing we do know, is that jesus was not born on decemeber 25th and that christmas was actually appropriated from the pagan ritual of yule by early christians because it was convenient. i will end my rant for fear of alienating anyone. i think my main point here is to be open and respectful and especially humble. thank you for coming to my brief ted talk. i yield my time.
