Ranting: Gay public affection

Feeling mildly guilty now. It's never happened to me. I've sat in a bar with my head in a guy's lap, I've got off with another guy in a different bar - both fairly conventional places, no gay bars or anything - and nobody's batted an eyelid. Once, I spent about ten minutes in this club hugging and kissing with my boyfriend, and the worst reaction I got was someone asking me if I ought to put a shirt on, when I went to the bar to get a drink.

I just said 'No!' and walked off. I never put up with blatant discrimination against the shirtless.

You go topless in public? Pervert.

When I am with a woman that is comfortable with it, and we are not in a situation where children are involved, I would kiss (not neck) and hold hands. I do not want to subject parents to an explanation about why two women are kissing. I am, :nana: of course more prone to PDA in a pride fest or a gay bar.

That's 'prevert' to you. And fuck yeah I'll go topless. Otherwise the toastrack might never see the light of day.

I haven't kissed a guy yet but if I ever have a relationship with one, I'd like to be able to kiss or hug or do whatever(in logical terms) in public..
but chance is that even if I do have a relationship I would be afraid to let myself free in the public..Greece isn't THAT 'modern'..same-sex kisses shock people around here and even though some may not show it they don't like this kind of act in public..though it seems that girls are not as misunderstood for holding hands or such things as men(with girls, it is easy for them to express their friendship like that but with us it's a no-go)..
I hope the Greek community gets more understanding and moves forward in these cases...I don't want to think that my country has narrow-minded people..:\

Toastrack? What the hell?

My friends tend to be frightened of me when I finally break through to touching. I go from the ice maiden to making out in public and if my S/O isn't around I try and make out with my friends.

That said, I've never understood why people dislike seeing others neck or kiss.

For me, it's just the way I was raised..PDA's aren't my cuppa...don't do em and I don't wanna see em beyond the handholding, light kiss, hugging stage...

The world is filled with things that are unpleasant to look at. In most cases, I find the best solution is to not look.

Besides, I think there are a lot worse things to look at than people expressing affection for each other.

I don't mind affection. It's when it seems to cross the line into lust that I feel uncomfortable.

There aren't many things that make me happier than seeing people in love. It sets my mind a-whir every time and makes me want to call my girl and give her warm-fuzzies somehow too.

When it spills over into lust, I typically want to watch. However, I'm not always fond of the questions it inspires in my children. I wasn't raised in a home with much PDA, but I've never felt there was anything wrong with it.

p.s. Venice, Italy ~ Voyeurism at its finest... *drool*

Like I said, depends on the setting.

I'm like that too. That's what sex parties are for, I don't really look to the streets for my sexual voyeurism.

Just have to rub that in my face, don't you? If I ever *got* an invite to a sex party I might feel the same way. So, unlike some people I have to get the voyeurism where I can find it. Between the lack of invitations and the police trying to arrest me whenever I do some harmless window watching, that leaves PDAs.
